I tried to exchange it through vendor but I was unsuccessful. This was my second one. I switch to a different more expensive brand and it has been a perfect replacement.

After that, it started dropping wifi signal. Just once every couple days at first, and now it drops as frequently as 5-8 times in 1 hour. I tried changing settings, checking for firmware updates, reinstalling the drive, moving it to different USB spots. I've thrown out the original box by now. Keep the box till your return date is over. Or better yet, avoid this.

Throttled Bandwidth, Inconsistent Connection

When plugged into my desktop PC, this Linksys adapter got maybe 70 Mbps download. That isn't even the worst of it, however. The inconsistency of this device is glaring, sometimes giving me less than 10 Mbps and requiring a system reboot that might or might not fix the issue. For online gaming this actually resulted in multiple unplayable matches with lag spikes and disconnections; for more casual web browsing this meant simple web pages sometimes took forever to load. Will be purchasing a different one from a different brand; this was a waste of $40 unfortunately.

Failed to Provide Consistent Connection

Ultimately, I returned both. Despite indication on the package that the device IS compatible with Windows Vista, I was unable to get the device to work on our Vista system. Ultimately, I called tech support - and, after a 45 minute back and forth, was told that the device "sometimes works with Vista." Ah. On our second (Windows 8) system, the device did work - setup was completed per the included CD and instructions. However, the connection was intermittent, despite our having the top of the line NetGear router, placed high up and as centrally in our small abode as possible. Again, ultimately, I returned both units. Didn't work for us.

Too weak a signal to connect. I found an old wi-fi antenna I hadn't used in ten yrs. It works just fine with 5 bars.

What you have experienced with the WUS6300 is odd considering that the range of your old Wi-Fi antenna works just fine. Linksys wireless adapters do not require extra configuration to achieve optimum wireless reception as it is a plug and play device.

Did not work on Windows 10 machine

Ours works fine and we have Windows 10 but could not get it to work on the other computer. Call support and they were not very helpful. Ended up returning the item.
