I opted for the wired connection but need to get a longer wire so I can place the extender in a better location, but so far it has improved the WiFi signal in my basement quite well.

I placed this unit in the bedroom in between and essentially have whole-house coverage. Of minor note, it does create a new network mynetwork-ext, so not a hive system. But has excellent speed and I've not had any issues.

The unit runs hot and as well the 2 wifi bands it was rebroadcasting, only one of them seemed to have more-or-less stable connectivity. The other one, seldom could I even establish an Internet connection at all. It was returned after just a couple days.

The RE6500 Extender's operating temperature is 32 to 104 F (0 to 40 C).
