I decided to give this one a shot before spending big bucks and it has been pretty good. The setup is a little tricky in that there's a lot of browser issues for me when getting to the setup page. I would recommend using the serial number option given in the online instructions. Right now we have this downstairs to extend wifi to our devices from the upstairs office router and I haven't noticed any significant slow down in speed for our smart tv and canary security. Of course it will depend on the size and structure of the area you are in but this is a reasonably priced extender that has worked well enough for me.

This range extender has helped significantly, as we have a desktop, laptop, 2 Android phones, 2/Android tablets, 2 nook readers, TV and DVD player connected to the network. We are very pleased with the results.

This allowed me not only to expand my wireless capabilities but also to hook Internet up to the second floor of my house for my Blu-ray player and tv.

* Use a wireless AC router/access point to fully utilize their capability.
* Place the range extender in an area where you are getting strong wireless signal from the router.
* It is recommended to use WPA2 Personal wireless security on your router and range extender.
* Update or re-flash the firmware.

We still have some lagging issue's. It took my 16 old some time to create new pass codes and accounts. Just what we need more codes and more accounts! One for the upstairs gaming devices. One for the in between range, including my TV in my room which has not allowed me to use Netflix since it has been installed. We even got the latest router from XFinity. I want to stop Xfinity all together... if you can give me any idea's I would greatly appreciate it. My contract is about to end and I do not want to continue with the service. Just way too costly for my single mom of 4 budge. Thank you very much!

Every once in a while it stops working for some unknown reason and has to be unplugged and plugged back in to reset it and to get it to work correctly again. It is the easiest way to get it to work again and trying to trouble shoot it’s issues through directions or customer support on line or on the phone is time consuming and not helpful.
