It picks up the signal from the wi-fi transmitter in the house just fine. I can use my laptop or my iPhone easily. Highly recommended.

I find this perfect for those who live in a multi-story house and the router is on the opposite end of the home. It ended up potentially saving me hundreds of dollars if I went through Xfinity for a resolution.

Based on some of the reviews, I was a little skeptical of how well this range extender would work. However, after installation, which was not as difficult as some of the reviews lead you to believe, I was pleasantly surprised. I have a pretty large house and this extender has provided coverage in dead spots of my home that other range extenders I've purchased could not provide. I would definitely purchase this product again.
