Hard wiring via Ethernet to this improved the download speeds well enough to make online actually useable on it on my old connection.

I was told for the size of our house it would work well but what it did was slow it down more. If you have a small 1-2 bedroom house and one floor it would work great. Our house is 2 floors and 4 bedrooms.

I needed it for the front of my home since our router is in the far back and has to go through an exterior wall since it’s in a room addition. Doesn’t seem to be doing the job like i wanted so may have to upgrade to a top line. I was really hoping this would work and I’m sure it’s due to the wall thickness.

You can use the Spot Finder technology that automatically calculates the best place for the extender based on the signal behavior and capability of your router. Short extension

I installed it on the other side of the living room which is halfway between the bonus room office. The signal is still not strong enough so I have to still use my hotspot on my phone for Internet up there. So I bought 2 devices and still can't use internet in my office.

Thank you for posting your review about the Linksys RE6500. There are a different reasons why it happened. We can help you perform a further isolation. It is recommended to place the range extender at the location where it can get at least three (3) wireless signal bars.
