The automatic setup process didn't work for me (that's why I gave 4 starts instead of 5), so I had to search for the full manual to get it connected to my network, but once I did that, it died up network access in my downstairs! We love it.

We appreciate you for sharing your feedback on the Linksys RE6500. The extended signal is dependent on the main router/AP's wireless signal but you can improve the connection by adjusting some wireless settings. Try adjusting the wireless channel of both the router and the extender and choose the channel with the best result. Relocating the devices to minimize physical obstruction is also of great help.

This one gave me the same difficulty, so I returned it. My intent was to have the range extender use the exact ID as my router, but it did not seem to be possible. This extender uses the router ID appended by _EXT. Since this is not the exact router ID, it did not do what I wanted.
