* Place it in an area where there is still a good connection from the router.
* Use a handheld device (phone or tablet) to check for your router's signal strength. Once you can find a place where there are still 2-3 signal bars, then that's the perfect location for your extender.
* Set your router to use a permanent wireless channel such as 1, 6, or 11.
* Update or re-flash the firmware.

The Linksys-AC1200 range extender did the trick. I now have a strong signal and can work as if /i was next to the modem.

Before purchasing it, we were unable to get a clear signal on the upper floor of our house. Since installing it, we now get a perfect signal upstairs. It works as advertised.

Great wifi booster

The setup was easy and only took about 5 minutes. Now I am able to have wifi at the far ends of the house.

Great range

Looked through Best Buy website and found this ordered on a Saturday night and had it delivered by 11am the next morning. This extended my WiFi signal by a lot.
