The router is upstairs at a far edge of the house. Put extender downstairs in the middle of the house. It has provided the improvement in WiFi coverage I needed.

The setup process of the range extender will give you an option to connect to a hidden network. Based on your review, it looks like you were able to successfully install it after enabling the SSID broadcast.

Great option for enhancing your wifi strength

Initially had some difficulty getting it setup but a quick review of the instructions and I got it going. If you have an Xbox be sure to change your setting from manual and allow the system to identify the correct IP address.
