Great router for beginner and expert
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a network guy with a couple of teenagers, so I wanted a lot of flexibility and features. I had to tweak some of the Wifi settings to get it working reliably out of the box, but since then it's been great. Plus it supports open source router software, so if the Linksys firmware is missing something, you have other options.

Great Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a new router since I recently purchased a larger home, & got an increase in connection speeds. I'm very happy with the range, ease of setup and overall performance of this router. I decided to purchase at Best Buy because of there price match guarantee and I even got a lower price when I walked in the door!!

Decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected this device to really boost our connections speed/strength over the wireless-n router we had previously but it hasn't really met my expectations in that regard. It works at least as well but it's really not working much if any better. We do have several devices that are capable of using wireless-ac/ 5ghz

Great Replacement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router to replace older Linksys unit that capped the ethernet pass through speed at 100mbs. Great speed, easy setup, and terrific coverage in large two story home with unit installed in basement. Linksys smart WiFi app works very well and allows easy setup and control of all router functions.

Great router for the money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this router nearly three weeks now, what a difference the Linksys WRT1900ACS router makes! My previous router was nearly 10 years old and had served us faithfully for the majority of those years. But with a number of devices fighting for the Wi-Fi signal, the time had come to replace it with something that could handle the increased load. I did a number of online comparisons as well as reading all of the reviews I could find looking for the best router I could find at a reasonable price point. Having previous good experiences with other Linksys products, I narrowed my search down to the WRT1900ACS. The anticipation of receiving the new router grew as the time got closer for it to arrive. Just my luck, it arrived the same day I was heading to the airport for a business trip. It sat in the office at home for a week until I got back in town and could check it out. Upon opening the box the WRT1900ACS came in, the first thing I noticed was the size difference between this and my old router, this thing was much larger. I proceeded to unpack it, not much in the way of items to unpack once you remove the router, just the instructions, two cables, one of which is the power cable, and that’s it. I read the instructions for set up which made the set-up a breeze. Disconnect your old router, plug this one in. Go to the web page and follow the steps there using the user sign-on and password supplied with the new router. I let the program manage most of my settings but made a few changes and was sure to change the router name and password for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. I re-synced all of my devices to the new router (3 smart phones, iPad Air, Kindle, HP Desktop, Apple laptop, work laptop, 2 smart TV’s, Chromecast, Sony smart Blue ray DVD player, as well as a couple more smart phones for frequent visitors, and two more Kindles for the same visitors). One of the first things I did after setting it up was to check the speed of the new router and compare it to my old one. That was a wow moment. The WRT1900ACS was four times faster than my old router on download speed and twice as fast on the upload speed, and that was without any tweaking of it, thank goodness for advances in technology! Next, I took my iPad and picked a movie from Netflix to watch on it. With the old router, I couldn’t watch a movie on the iPad during peak hours without it constantly buffering, which would happen anywhere in the house. And when I could watch one, it had to be in direct line of sight of the router. Now, I can not only watch a movie without the any interruptions at any time of day, I can watch it anywhere in the house. I took the iPad into my backyard and walked to every corner of the yard and had no problems. Now I can sit outside in the gazebo on a nice day and watch a movie if I want. Just for grins, I took the iPad out into the front yard and out to the curb, the movie was still playing fine. I’m sure any neighbor that saw me was wondering what I was doing walking around staring at my iPad. Also, streaming a movie from Netflix onto my TV via Chromecast got a whole lot better. There used to be a lot of buffering while trying to watch a movie at prime-time. Now, no problems, it’s great! Amazon Prime works just as well. Another nice feature of the router is the guest connections. Our house tends to be the gathering place for all holidays and birthday parties. Now at these gatherings I can provide extended family and friends the password to the guest connections and let them have Wi-Fi access to their hearts content. Also, the indicator lights on the front of the unit make it easy to quickly glance at the unit to check the status (came in handy over the weekend when TWC had an internet outage). I couldn’t be more satisfied with the router. It works as promised and is actually better than I expected. Please note that this router was a free sample from Linksys. It was provided to me for my review in exchange for my honest feedback.

Perfect for a connected home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router to help increase my capacity on my home network; we have 2 phones, 2 tablets, a smart TV, Playstation, desktop computer, a Surface, and two LIFX lights. With this upgrade we have more than enough capacity and plenty of room to keep expanding our connected home equipment.

Good Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works okay but occasionally shuts my internet access off and I have to unplug and restart. Our computers suddenly say we are offline. This happened with another Linksys router I had some time ago. Has been about 3 weeks since I've had to restart it so hopefully all is okay now. Speeds are fine.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ROUTER!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I no longer need a Wifi Extender in the house, and the interface is amazing! Very simple and Linksys is one of the top companies- so there's tons of info online. No built in content filtering, but easily solved with OpenDNS Family Shield! https://www.opendns.com/setupguide/?url=familyshield

Rock Solid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CNET review indicated that this would be a great router for my needs. My internet connection speed is only 50mb/s, but I also run a Plex movie server for the various TVs in my home. I've had zero issues with connectivity. But I removed one star for real-world range. It's good, but not great.

LOVE IT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Staying connected in this day and age is a must! This router lets the dream of playing Video games while streaming Netflix while checking Facebook/Insta/Twitter. This router is love. Also a plus is that Linksys doesn't cut service after 3 years like NetGear did to me TWICE.

Love this router!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased: 11/7/2015 First off, I purchased a new router to upgrade from the one provided to me by the internet company which was only "n" rated. I have tons of devices connecting to the internet: PC's, Tablets, Phones, TVs, Notebooks, Game Systems, ETC. So I wanted something that could keep up with my devices better that my last router. I also wanted a router that would allow me to utilize the high speed internet a pay for. I initially bought the NetGear Nighthawk x6 (AC3200) because I wanted a router that wouldn't require an update in a year or two...Since both routers transfer data at essentially the same speed, not overall speed across all channels, but the speed of a single device connected to 5Ghz channel. The NightHawk had spotty receptions which I didn't like. This could have been due to how I had the antennas setup, but either way it shouldn't be spotty within a 50 ft range. I also found it to be extremely large and cheap feeling with thin plastic antennas. I found it extremely difficult to find a router because everywhere I looked there were people who absolutely loved it or hated it. that being said, I haven't had any issues with this router. I especially like the USB2.0, USB3.0 and SATA connections on the back. I connected my 500Gb SSD and printer to my router and I must say that I love this feature. Also, the transfer speed between device and router was much faster than I expected. Easily streamed UHD video from the router HD. *I will update if any issues arise.

Super User Friendly and Feature Rich!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great design. It's a classic throwback to the old WRT54G days. It has a great interface, very easy to use, and you can control it from your smartphone, and even away from home. I will say that the 5 GHz has had some issues with consistency, but the 2.4 GHz has been rock solid.
