First I would like to say that their support is fast and will get back to you as many times as needed. I had an issue connecting Apple devices but was not disappointed at how quick they were to respond and resolve the issue. Other than that, setup was quick and easy using the app which I downloaded to my phone. I was happy to see that it supports PPoE. That eliminated the need to have my fiber internet provider’s modem. Performance was very solid at 2.4 and 5 Ghz with few caveats mentioned later here. Unfortunately, I couldn’t test the 6 Ghz portion of it without a compatible device, which is very difficult to find yet. The important thing here is that it is future proof. As more devices that support WiFi 6E are released in the market, the more likely it will be for me to have one and try all the extra capability of 6 Ghz. I tested my internet speed with my laptop and phone at over 900 Mbps to the Internet. That really is impressive since my internet bandwidth limit is 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps). I bet I would get even better performance had I a “pipe” bigger than that. Anyway, all my 40+ devices connected to it without issues (after the Apple problem was fixed) thanks to the 4x4 MU-MIMO radio. I didn’t have a chance to test higher speeds internally because I don’t have any equipment running at over 1 Gbps, but I was able to transfer files at that limit over WiFi with real gigabit performance. Not much different than a wired connection Linksys Hydra Pro look won’t impress anybody and its range is not terrible but it pales in comparison to an older Linksys model that I own. While I get very good signal in one room at the corner of the house with the older, the newer can’t keep up without an extender or mesh. Granted, my house is not small but I was expecting similar or better range for something newer. It has 4 antennas. The older has 8. So I may be comparing apples to oranges here. It will still satisfy most users, except those with bigger house. It is compatible with older Linksys mesh extenders. The only issue with that is that it won’t support 6 Ghz. If you live in a bigger house, you might want to consider the newer mesh version of this, which is what would have solved my range issue while also future proofing my WiFi network all over the house. Also, parental control is too limited. You can schedule time for your kids to access WiFi and block specific sites manually added but can’t block by category like some other routers can. The up side is that it is very easy to manager either using the app or connecting directly to it via a browser. It has a USB 3 port to connect to a storage device, which is nice for some, and it has guest internet as an option so you don’t have to give guests access to the same home network. In summary, I would recommend this router to most people who don't consider the limitations I mentioned important. Here wishing I put my hands on the new mesh version of this.

This thing sucks. I have 1400+ Mbps going into the router. I frequently get ~0.5-100 Mbps across the house which is only 1800 sq ft and signal going through two rooms with drywall. Signals shouldn’t drop so quickly. Minimal settings too. Going to return for something better.

The most unable Linksys Router I have ever used. The other reviews are accurate that it completely loses WI-Fi and IP connections for no reason. Re-booting only helps for a short time. I tried for weeks to get it stable and nothing help. Range is not great as advertised. I returned mine.

Got this to replace my old dual-band router. Setup was overall very smooth once I found out a detail I wanted (will get into later). Connected to my cable modem and am getting full speeds. I also use all 4 of the LAN ports (3 of which go to switches) and no interruptions or slow downs noticed. Excellent range and dB to distant devices in my house as well. The one thing I was frustrated with at first, but prompt response from Linksys support solved, is that I prefer not to broadcast my SSID. If you are in the same boat, after you get to the router web page after logging in, in the bottom right there is a little "CA" link. Click that and you will get those options under WiFi. With that, everything is perfect with this router so far!

Router performance is top notch as far as speed and range goes. It is a rather large device but that is likely to aid in component spacing and cooling. Having Wi-Fi 6E with access to the 6Ghz band will come in very handy to combat congested Wi-Fi areas as more devices that support 6E are released. The speed increase between Wi-Fi devices was very noticeable. My only qualm with this router is setup process. While you do have the option to setup the router manually via a desktop browser (which I would advise if you have the know how), you are forced to use the app if you elect to use your phone. The app is simple enough to use but it hangs up a lot and I was never able to make it all the way through the setup steps. On my third attempt using the app I noticed that the light had finally gone from pulsing purple to solid blue, indicating that it was online. The app said it was no longer connected to the router but after a force close and reopen it showed everything functioning properly. While this is an improvement over my last experience with the Linksys app, it's still wasn't enjoyable. The management functions of the app easy to use but limited, if you want to dig deeper into settings you can access them via a desktop browser. Overall I am very happy with the performance but I feel like a router in this price range should have a better initial user experience regarding setup.

Linksys Hydra Pro Wifi 6E Tri-Band Router Included- the router, ethernet cable, power supply, quick start guide The Linksys Hydra Pro set up was easy. We already had a Linksys router and the corresponding app so it walks you through the setup easily to connect it. It offers a 6GHz Wifi band, speed up to 6600 megabits per second and will support at least 55 devices at one time with a range of 2700 sq ft. There are 4 ports in the back, automatic firmware updates and parental controls. I didn't realize at the time of getting the Hydra Pro that the square footage coverage is low. I expected it to cover more area. My house is 4000 sq feet so unfortunately we didn't have the best experience with this router. It didn't offer enough signal to support our devices. But I do know and trust in the Linksys brand. I'm impressed that it will support so many devices with ultra fast speeds for your gaming and streaming. I like that you can have a more hands on control of your kid's devices from anywhere. The Linksys Hydra Pro Wifi 6E Tri-band router is quite expensive so I would only recommend it if your square footage is 2700 sq ft or less. If my house was smaller, we would have stuck with his newer, more powerful router.

I’ve been using a Linksys MR8300 with a node since February 2019, so given the opportunity to upgrade, I jumped. Since I’ve been using a Linksys router, I already have the Linksys app on my phone. Pressing a button on the app gave me the option to swap the place out the MR8300 with the Hydra Pro automatically without having to re-establish the SSID and the passwords. The set-up to swap-out took about 5 minutes and I was pleased. Then came the surprise. The app asked about adding any additional nodes. The app recognized the MR8300 as a node still had it turned on, but not plugged into the modem. While the Hydra covers up to 2700 square feet, more than likely a node won’t be necessary, but it’s nice to have another node available to make sure there’s more than adequate coverage. The router allows coverage for three bands of 2.4, 5 and 6 MHz. Unfortunately, I don’t have any Wi-Fi 6 devices to test the band, when I do, it’s already in place. Testing the router speeds, it does seem to have found an additional 40-50 mbps and I have not noticed any buffering from our streaming devices and websites on my laptop appear to be loading faster. While my wife didn’t seem to notice a difference on our laptops or tablets, she did notice that our streaming devices are loading faster than they were last week. Overall, this router can handle all the current devices and it’s ready for more devices that will be arriving in the future.

This is totally not the kind of behavior that we expect with the unit.
