My modem and router are both installed in a walkout basement. I was having trouble streaming Wi-Fi in our house so I started researching Wi-Fi extenders for my house. I have a Linksys router and this mated well with that, so hookup was simple. Everything seems to work well with our Wi-Fi now now that we have the extender.

I originally got this for my shop/garage at home. We've got a really nice Linksys home router already but do get a lot of interference out by the road/where the garage is. This little range extender really surprised me. It doesn't have directional antennas like the RE6700 has but that didn't stop it from extending the signal so far from my house that I can stay connected all the way to the gas station at the end of the road and even almost across the street to the hotel on the other side of the highway. The RE7000 has absolutely incredible range. So much that I took it to my 25,000 square foot tool shop instead to improve coverage and got the smaller RE6700 for my garage at home. I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback.

I was going to set up a point-to-point bridge, and ran out of time. Getting the ethernet up to each antenna just was not going to work, and I needed to set up a connection to my solar system outside my house so I can monitor it remotely. There was enough power in the receiver on this unit to see my wireless router/modem. It literally took only 20 minutes to set up the AC1900 with its option of single or dual band through the provided Linksys address on my laptop, name it, give it a different password and name , open up the solar system panel and connect the line to the unit. I went back to my laptop, and it was seamlessly transparent. Positives- Easy to use software and user interface, small unit,.

Easy set up with my current router, the automatic configuration using the WPS setup made the whole process a snap. The extender boosted my wifi signal to enable streaming of video to low signal areas

I use this Linsys WIFI extender in my home as well as installing them in customers homes and office's. The extender will cover all the dead areas around your home or office up to 10,000 feet. You can subtract 1000 feet for each wall it goes through. Easy to set up with your phone or tablet. Once installed just look for your wifi name followed by ext and connect. Great for high speed gaming as well.

I purchased this today with my new Max-Stream AC4000 MU-MIMO Tri-Band Linksys router. I have a decent size house, many obstacles for signals. I believed I might need this (past Linksys experience) so I went ahead with the purchase. Well, the router I purchased produces a wide beam that’s multidirectional. Made the this little guy unnecessary. Not even mad to return it. I almost wanted to keep it because it’s actually designed with my new router as a mesh style connection. (No separate logins). It’s simply an extension booster working exactly like the normal router. Brilliant idea by Belkin and Linksys.

I needed to get stable wifi to my son's room at the farthest corner of the house, and this did the trick. Setup was straightforward and the device even suggested the best distance from the router to the repeater. My one suggestion would be to use a computer, like a laptop, instead of a mobile device to set up the repeater. Because its dual band, sometimes my laptop and other devices want to hop from 2G to 5G, so I have to manually switch it back on the devices. That may be more of an "auto-join" issue than with the repeater.

I bought this when I was staying in a hotel on the 15th floor and the free wireless signal was weak. I wanted to be able to have a secure connection and a stronger signal. I wasn't sure if it would work since I had no idea where the hotels' router was, But I followed the directions and it worked great!

The WiFi extender improved the signal on my main level living room so that a SMART tv was finally able to consistently connect. I have a townhouse and the new router provided by my telecom company just didn’t cover the whole footprint of the home, especially for a tv near electrical and duct work.

Bought another brand first and had a full day of frustration because it wouldn't connect. Returned it and got this one thankfully. It was almost plug and play. Extended my wifi to weak areas and has been working fine for over a month. Highly recommended.

We bought this for a vacation home that had many dead spots. My son would come to main area of house to play fortnite as it was too laggy everywhere else. Set up was relatively easy and the website has optimum location finder that helped with placement. Salesman said devices would seamlessly switch from router to repeater without new selection process but you do need to add “_ext” to wi fi pick list for it to work. House much quieter now that my son can stay in his room and stream YouTube and play fortnite!

Great Range Extender/Repeater With Linksys Router

Having challenges with my newer Apple Airport Extreme (AC) and Apple Airport Express. Have been using my Express to connect my Tivo Mini Box to the Extreme (AC) Router, but after a few years, my Airport Express started giving me issue and would only push 34-54mbs at the time of it's death. Didn't want to buy another Airport Express as Apple haven't updated their technology in 6 years... so felt this Linksys Repeater would do the trick. According to advertisement on the Box, this Linksys Repeater will connect to any branded router and it does. Two reasons for the 3 star and not 5 star review. 1. Software (app on phone/tablet) for setting up is so nutty. When you finally do connect to Repeater, it's very simple setup, but it's like a one time only. If you make a mistake, takes hours to figure out how to fix. This would all be avoided and much better with a Linksys Max-Stream router. 2. Because I didn't have a Max-Stream branded router, it created two networks. My normal network just extended. So if you did want to use as an extender in another part of your house with low or no Wi-Fi signal, you would have to disconnect from one network and connect to the other. Again, all would be solid if you already have a Max-Stream branded router. I do see this as a necessary need for the AC2200 router as I purchased for my parents house (great black Friday deal at Best Buy) and walk away 25 feet and would lose 1-2 bars of signal. To summarize, this is a well built and strong signal repeater that has many uses including a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, to hook up your devices that have no/old wireless technology. Just don't purchase unless you already have a Max-Stream Linksys router, then it's a 5-star product.
