I bought this to upgrade the router that I had in my home office. Although it was expensive, it had all the features that I needed and could handle the high speeds that I have. That being said, I'm extremely disappointed it in. My internet constantly drops even with having the connect hard wired to the router. I've spent hours online with all levels of Linksys support trying to resolve this. They ultimately RMA'd the router and sent me a new one. Unfortunately I had the same issue with it. After more hours with support they had to create a DMZ in order for me to RDP into my work computer. That's pretty bad that I have to bypass all of the security features of this router. I guess it's a paperweight now since I'll be getting a new router and definitely not a Linksys!

After using a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 model for many years, the unit stopped working with AT&T's DSL Arris modem. The Nighthawk would simply not connect. So, I took a chance withe Linksys and it connected immediately to the AT&T modem. Easy. Now, I will say that the Linksys isn't as fast as the Nighthawk, but as long as the new router is dependable, I'm happy.

Setup was fairly easy. In my opinion it tries to do too much, and simplify language to the point that its misleading. But for basic setup it is very straight forward. I would prefer that the list of attached devices be displayed as a simple list, and be sortable. The way it is displayed looks nice for a few devices, but if you have several it is hard to use.
The huge problem was that after 9 hours the router stopped working entirely. The LED on top started blinking, and the router would no longer accept connections on either wireless or plugged in directly to the router. A search of Linksys web site suggested reflashing the router firmware, but that's not something one should need to do after 9 hours of use. This might be a fluke, but it was a fail for me. I returned the router and bought something by a different company.

Hello, David.
We thank you for taking the time in writing about your experience with the EA9300 router. Your feedback is definitely noted. A firmware update (or reflash) would certainly maximize router performance. However, the unit itself should work right off the bat. It should provide you with consistent connectivity for all devices. Please forward your full contact details to via [email protected] so we can look into this with you. Include the link to your review four our reference.

Harvey Linksys Support

Opened up my home

Wow! This wireless router really opened up my double wide mobile home. My previous router was weak as it struggled to send wi-fi to the end of my home. It was an Apple Airport Express. Now I can sit on the patio in my back yard or in my car in the driveway and access the Internet with the power bars at peak meter level. This was an iincredible improvement.

I have been wanting to upgrade my router for some time. I did a lot of research and decided to give this router a chance. I am really glad that I did. I cannot believe how much smoother and faster my internet experience is since I upgraded. I had a really old router and it showed. I am huge fan of Linksys products and will continue to purchase them in the future.

LINKSYS EA9500’s younger brother - Very Nice WiFi

The Linksys MAX-STREAM AC4100 Tri-Band Router (EA9300) was very easy to install. Unpacking and setup required less than 15 minutes including a firmware update. I read and followed the easily understandable instructions. I then configured the Linksys MAX-STREAM AC4100 Tri-Band Router (EA9300) using the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi software. Ideal for multiple connected devices, this router provides ample bandwidth for simultaneous 4K and HD video streaming(my wife and I both watched different HD videos at the same time), online gaming, and other data-heavy uses. Three dedicated bands minimize lag when multiple devices are connected, delivering speeds of up to 600 Mbps (2.4 GHz) + 1667 Mbps (5 GHz) + 1667 Mbps (5 GHz). Applications are routed based on bandwidth needs. I was able to prioritize my attached devices, allocating bandwidth where needed. I have consistent connections. I installed this router in a very electronic “noisy” area with over 30 networks visible at any given point in time. The centrally located router reaches the entire location with no dead spots. Easy install, great build quality, good technical specs, great performance and great management software. The technical specs are cutting edge for this range of routers at this time.
Like all of the new Linksys routers – “it just works!”

Another great product from LINKSYS...

As you can expect from LINKSYS, their MAX-STREAM AC4000 router was extremely easy to setup. It comes with everything that you need to make it a plug-and-play setup. I had it up and running in under 20 minutes. Their phone app makes it even easier to set the router up, and also to take control of it and the devices connected.
This is a tri-band router, so you get all of the speed that you need for all of your devices. This was a very important thing for me to have in a router, as I have multiple wifi enabled devices throughout my home, and in my garage. The signal strength is great, and reached all the way out into my detached garage, so this was really a big plus for me. I have security cameras installed throughout my home that need to be hardwired, so the four ethernet ports on this device really came in handy. On top of the four ethernet ports, you also get two USB 3.0 ports for folks that have a shared network storage device.
The only downside to this router was its size. It is a pretty bulky device that will require a significant amount of space on your shelf. I guess you can come to expect that from most comparable routers. I guess that the looks make up for this. It looks like a spaceship that is ready to take off.
I would recommend this router to anyone that has multiple wifi devices throughout their home.
