This is a reliable router and it delivers, but it all comes down to your ISP.
As of right now I have Comcast Gigabit, but max speed is only about 500mbps.

Works great. It really does boost your internet streaming, especially if you have a lot of devices connected to your router. It’s worth the money.

All I have to say is THANK GOD I purchased the two year protection plan. This routers performance (when it is working) is fine. However, the router UI is horrendous and the connection would drop sporadically. Devices would show up (in the UI) sometimes and then disappear. The devices would duplicate at random. Parental controls would only save if I set them 3 to 4 times. Then, without notice (TA DAH) I couldnt connect to my router using the linksys ‘smart’ wifi app. We just went back to our ASUS router and it is glorious. I have never been so frustrated with a router in my life. I make my living in IT, so I know how things are supposed to work.
I dont know if these are common problems, or if it was just the unit that we received. I do know one thng... I will never purchase a Linksys product again.

Great Home Router with Smart App

This router delivers on the ease of Linksys setup! Especially, if mesh systems aren't a requirement to cover every nook of your home, or apartment. I performed the setup using my iPhone 7, with the safari browser. While performing the setup, I had a couple of errors while changes were being made (ie updating the SSID, or connecting to the Linksys Smart App account). The errors were a bit annoying, and took a couple of retries for the setup to detect the router. After linking my Linksys account (for the Smart App), I continued to get the "retry" error; only to find that it did complete successfully. It just kept re-directing to the admin login I setup during a previous step. I finally just opened the Smart App, and found that the network had already been added successfully. The setup prompts just weren't updating. Had this completed successfully, the setup would have only taken a 5 minutes. Instead, it took about 15 minutes with me troubleshooting the error.
I was also able to use the same SSID on all bands, and the unit immediately started a Guest Network. The signal was pretty strong in my 1200 Sq Ft. apartment, with minimal loss of speed from one end to the other. So this makes it great for small homes, or apartments; without the need for an extender.
Pros:
- Setup can be done via mobile browser over Wifi, or PC/Mac via Ethernet Connection.
- You can use the same network name across all frequencies, (Guest is appended to the guest network).
- MU-MIMO for fast, reliable wireless networking.
- 4 Ethernet ports for wired devices (Gigabit)
- Ability to use Extenders (compatible ones) to create a Mesh like network; without the need to switch SSID's or connecting to a different network.
Cons:
- Size, if it matters. The antennas and the unit itself require more shelf space than a traditional router, or mesh system
- Linking this to your Linksys Smart App account can sometimes lead to errors (giving you a retry button).
- If you link it to your Smart App, it requires that you use the app the make network changes from your mobile device (wouldn't go past asking me to visit the app store). You can still make changes from a PC/Mac based browser, just not iOS.
Overall, I'd say this is a great router for those who want the MIMO experience, and super fast speeds! Linksys doesn't disappoint! I'm giving 4 stars, just because of the annoying error message during the setup.

Tri Band router, not the range I expected, but Okay. Initial setup, the 2nd 5 Ghz band would not connect to the internet. Called customer support, she was very rude. Initially tried to setup both 5 Ghz band the same so wifi roaming would be better, she informed me that I could not do it that way, even though they have a button to set it up that way. Router now working, will give it some time and re-review the product.

Linksys is back at it again and made a powerful router in a great all around package. The design of the AC4000 is inline with the rest of Linksys most recent routers and the product line have been consistent.
Its easy to set up and include most of the basics. Quick start guide is clear and everything is simple to understand. The unit has 4 Gigabit LAN ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports. All of which are pretty standard by today. I used and connected all the ports and they all worked fine without the headache of a massive setup. There LED indicator on the top of the unit that glows in the logo letting you know it's on and ready to be a beast at streaming.
The performance on the router is phenomenal. Everything you looking for in a modern consumer router is here. Great dual-band WiFi, MU-MIMO support, Tri-Stream..Its all packed into the AC4000 router. Every device I used maintained the level of speed it was designed to handle. Streamed 4K Netflix content without a problem on my TV, Maintained the level of speed with my Nvidia Shield Tablet streaming PC games, iPhone and iPad stayed strong with Apple Music, Galaxy S6 edge Plus and PS4 was being used simultaneously with other devices all at once. Nothing can slow this router down when you want need it and that's always a plus. The range is fantastic I can literary go outside the house connected. It covered my whole house easily without issues.
Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app is really good. You can keep track of everything going on with your router with the app. You can see what's connected and charge passwords among other things. Useful and modern app design is nice and something recently Linksys have been doing. Guess networking working without a flaw.
Outside of that I really down have any issues with the router itself. If you are looking for a great router that will bring you up to standards the AC4000 will meet all your expectations and more. It's just simple to use and easy to use. I would recommend to friends that's looking for good router at a fantastic price.

This is a solid choice for a router. Works well and does the job, also looks like a wicked spider thing which is also cool.
