Overpriced
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm very disappointed with my recent purchase of the Linksys-Max-Stream's AX6000.. Asus needs to rebrand this router's name to Weak-Stream AX6000. Wifi coverage is horrible and home is not large.

Posted .Hi, Becky,
The Linksys MR9600 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Router works with any Internet Service Provider (ISP). We could try to use the channel finder on the Linksys app and updated the firmware version to optimize the router. Unreliable router
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst router I have ever purchased. It's unreliable. Linksys Tech Support could not diagnose. Unless You manage an IT department, I would not even consider buying this router.

Posted .Hi there,
Keeping the firmware version of the Linksys MR9600 updated, helps ensure its optimal performance. For isolation, check if you're getting a stable Internet connection directly from your modem and when you connect a device wired to the Linksys router.
Furthermore, please email us, at [email protected], the relevant info and the link to this review, so that we can have our 2nd Level Support team assist you.

A great upgrade to your wifi system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been running a Linksys mesh system for about 2 years with my 1GB internet in our 2,000 sq ft house. I have experienced dropped nodes sometimes daily and for sure weekly... NOT ANYMORE! This Max-Stream X6000 has taken over to run my mesh flawlessly. I have not had a single node drop since I've set it up! The linsys app is the same as my old mesh network, but this time the app loads quickly to the router which allows me to run the parent controls effectively. Gone are my days waiting for the app to connect to my mesh network. Setup to take over as the lead node was also easy and effortless and adding or replacing nodes is easy and unchanged from my original mesh. I could not be happier that my old nodes are compatible and work perfectly with this router. The router is pulling over 900mb from my modem and uploading 20mb just likes its supposed to. I have over 60 devices pulling from my mesh network from lights, echos, garage door openers, sprinkler system, security cameras, to TVs and it has worked perfectly with this new router allowing me to fully utilize the bandwidth I'm paying for. For anyone with a previous Linksys mesh with any frustrations, I would highly recommend upgrading to this router to run it, you will not be disappointed.

Does the trick!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s been a while since I had a modem to attach a router to. The modem I received from the cable company is also a router. Chatted with Linksys support on what would be the best way to configure the router with the equipment I had. After contacting the cable company to make some changes - installed the new router. The transition was really smooth. The results are outstanding. One of the issues I had was that the connectivity in the house I live was not the greatest. After installing this router, I asked my son to take his phone, continue to monitor the connection and note when he lost connection. He said he lost connection at the end of the block about 200 feet away. There are some helpful parental controls built in and the router can be managed from a cell phone or tablet - even remotely. I don’t have extravagant needs but I do live in a household with 6 users, multiple devices and 2 streaming TV's and everything connects so much better.

Solid performing ax router and easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Linksys has this easy setup where it sets up both 2.4 and 5.0 frequencies under same ssid and combines channels so all existing devices connected at a faster speed easily. This also connects to linksys mesh systems so its easy to expand range for multi floor. I have set up netgear routers but this seemed much easier and is a solid performer no dropouts so far.

Great speeds, but lacks customization
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great speeds with room to grow in the future Overall I think this is a solid router, but I write that with a few caveats. It has been reliable so far, the wireless speeds are very good, and initial setup is fairly easy. However, I don't believe that this router is for the "power-user" who wants good control over their network. This router is meant for those that want to plug and play and get back to streaming. This review may seem like I have more negative to say than positive, but to me the basic functions of a router should be pretty easy to get right; provide quality wireless service to multiple connected devices. The MR9600 does that very well. So overall it is good at being a router. The downsides for my use and preferences mean I couldn't recommend this to a tech savvy person. Your elderly parents who constantly call you with issues? Yep, right up their alley. Initial setup CANNOT be done via a web browser at all, even if you navigate to the internal device ID, it forces you to download the app and set it up that way. I don't want another app. When I'm at my home, I don't need a user friendly app to access my router, I have a computer available and with that said I want to access the router directly from the IP address, not through an app. Once setup is done you can get into the router via a web browser, but only after you tell Linksys you're really sure you meant to navigate there by clicking a link, after they remind you again that the app is available. This happens every single time. If you like to tinker around and adjust settings on your router, the app is pretty terrible. If you pick the wrong menu to dive into (which is pretty easy because they don't follow the semi-standard menu convention of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, etc), you have to tap three times to try again; back arrow > reopen the side bar > tap the next menu and try again. I've never experienced a router that selectively prevents a single device from having internet access until now. I reused my old SSID so all of my devices could reconnect without issue, except my smart thermostat. It connected to the network, was given an IP address, but no internet connection. Every other device on that SSID was fine and rebooting the router didn't fix it. I had to reset the thermostat completely before it would connect to the internet. I'm bothered by the omission of certain options that can't be adjusted. You are not able to select the wireless mode (AX, AC, N, etc) that the channels use. I would imagine the router adjusts on the fly, but I don't know for sure (the connected devices module doesn't mention it), this can sometimes cause connectivity issues on older devices that may only be N compatible. You can't pick which wi-fi channel the SSIDs are broadcast on, which if you're someone who knows this sort of thing, knows that using anything other than 1, 6, or 11 on the 2.4GHz band is bad, Linksys uses whichever one it wants and there is not a way to override it. There is not an option for bandwidth monitoring. Since my internet is a 100/100 fibre line, any modern router should be able to handle that. I like to test local traffic, since I do a lot of streaming from local devices and internet speeds don't matter for that. I have no idea what the bandwidth activity from my plex server to an apple tv is. The only thing I know is my normal test file which would stutter and buffer on a direct stream with my previous router is now able to play fully without transcoding. I'm genuinely impressed by that. Final thoughts: Performance is A+, future proofing is a B+ but that's only due to WiFi 6 not actually being certified yet. It's possible that once WiFi 6 is finalized, this won't meet the qualifications to be "certified" so that's why it's a B+. Customization is a D. I really like setting my routers up a certain way; port forwarding, address reservation; wireless broadcast channels, and this doesn't allow for some of those options. That's really frustrating to me. However, with all of that said, if all you want is a modern router with solid bandwidth, that is also more or less set it and forget it, then yes I can recommend this to you.
