Powerful Signal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is offers great coverage. My house is around 3000 sq ft so around the size it claims to be able to cover. This router does that and more. I think they list 3000 to include interference, various home layouts and other issues. My old setup was a mesh setup that I got to avoid weak signal in a back room and dead-spots in my basement. I set this up thinking I may need to get a second device to set up a mesh network, but so far I haven't needed to. The strength of the antenna covers my whole house with out any issues. I also noticed that when I mowed my lawn I could get signal over the whole yard, whereas with my previous setup my phone would switch between WiFi and mobile data when I was streaming music as I mowed. I don't really the extra features like port forwarding, but it includes all the standard options you would expect from most routers. I like the fact that I can make it a mesh network if I need to, so that if for any reason I notice any dead-spots in the future I can add a device to fix those issues. Speeds are great, but my signal coming into my home is only 100, and so with multiple devices connected, I don't expect any one device to get close to that speed. This will connect and offer as much as any one device can reasonably use of the 100. I can't really say if there would be any bottlenecks for slower signals, but I've gotten really fast speeds when downloading from my NAS so I don't believe so. Overall a great router with the option to expand into a mesh network if needed. Overall.

Great range, annoying quirks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is pretty sizable, if you have space constraints, such as a utility cubby, be sure to measure first. Wi-Fi 6 speed and coverage is great and being able to add modules for mesh is nice, but I'm not sure about this router. I am not a fan of the "ease of use" setup and features of this device. Forcing me to use an app and register for an account to setup and manage my home Wi-Fi is very annoying. I should at least be given the option to set the router up in a traditional manner and not have to push all my network setup info across the web. This may not seem like a big deal as you only have to set it up once, but it's a real downer when you're excited for a new device and your first experience with it is an hour of being annoyed because the setup keeps failing and you know all it should take is couple of clicks and keypresses in a web browser at a local IP. Once I made it through the set-up process I did have connectivity issues for the first few hours that seem to have worked themselves out. I was unable to connect to the internet on any device that was connected to Wi-Fi but the router itself showed that it was connected to the internet just fine. I'm not sure if it was updating the firmware or what was going on in the background but after the modem power cycled itself without warning, it seems to be fine. I also notice that my transfer speeds to my NAS (which is connected to the router via ethernet) are noticeably slower than with my last router in the same configuration. The same goes for USB devices plugged directly into the router. This seems odd to me as my Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi speeds are improved. TL;DR Wi-Fi speeds and coverage are great but the setup was very annoying and did not go as smoothly as it should have.

Posted .Hi, Sean,
We appreciate your honest review and we totally understand your need of a secured network. Creating an account is feature of the router that’ll let you access the router locally and remotely, however, you have an option not to create one if you don’t want to. Simply Amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched from using the Google mesh router to this one. It's been a night and day experience. Setup was simple. The mobile apps help as well to make management easy. Streaming and connectivity has been great so far. No drops or dead zones either. PS4 streaming and Netflix all work great.

Some compatibility issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switched to this from a single 2016 Google Wifi unit. The raw speed is no contest, this is blowing the old router away. The setup has been a mild nightmare though. My personal PC just could not find the network broadcasting at all, while my work computer found it no problem. Perhaps you could cough that up to PC issues so whatever, I'm still on a Wifi 4 card until a new one arrives. The more annoying problem was getting my Brother printer set up to connect to the Wifi. After hours of trying the WPS button, connecting via USB to my PC to input the Wifi info, etc., the best it could do is connect for a second then lose the signal. I'm like really? Losing the signal in an 850 sq ft apartment? Finally I tried splitting the 2.4/5ghz networks into their own SSID's and the printer immediately works. Annoying that I had to access the settings via browser to do that, and even then it was not intuitive. I had zero issues with this on the Google Wifi dual network, so that feels like an odd step backwards. On the flip side I do like having control over which network my devices are on, so I think I'll live with it. Do hope they improve that through firmware or something though.

So far so good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received to replace an Asus 1900, excellent router so far. I love being able to now access my home wifi settings using an app on my phone. This is a huge benefit. I've noticed my speeds have been much better. Wifi is about the same as far as coverage goes. I'm not sure how much of a benefit that has been as its located in the basement. Overall, very happy with this router.

Not user friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Router gives fast WiFi- I had the problem I couldn’t connect to apps and websites. I could browse google but when I clicked a website, the router would block it. Very difficult to understand for me.

Peforms well, but not with all devices, setup hard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty happy with it once it got set up, but getting there was awful. First, there are NO instructions. There is a little paper in the box that says to set up, download an app on your phone. However, it does not tell you what you have to do with your router or how you to wire your computer to the router first. You will have to google how to setup this modem in order to get all the steps correctly. The phone app is of little help. Then, once we got it up and running, we discovered that not all our devices would connect. Called tech support, took about half hour to get to someone who could understand the issue, but they were good and spent maybe two hours with us trying to make it work. This router uses WIFI 6, and we discovered that some device adaptors like our three year old laptop can't work with it, although my 5 year old Roku had not trouble. Tried unsuccessfully to update the adaptor driver, failed after wastting most of the day, ended up driving to the office store to buy a network USB dongle to put in the laptop , and that worked. So bad side, it took 7 hours start to finish to get this to work on all devices. But now, that it does, I am very pleased with it. We had about twelve devices trying to connect to our old router, its coverage was poor, and our internet connection pretty limited. This high end most expensive sold router handles our "heavy" traffic and limited bandwidth connection quite well, all devices are getting most of the max speed out of our connection when they need it.

A big upgrade from Linksys WRT3200 ACM.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A big upgrade from Linksys WRT3200 ACM. My old router has been working great but I need better coverage since I have dead spot in my house. I bought this router and used the old WRT3200 as the repeater. I'm now able to get the speed I pay from Cox via WiFi 6. Set up was quick with the app and the portal.

Very disappointed, will be returning.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very lousy download speeds compared to my old NetGear NightHawk AC1900. I even tried the "device prioritization" with no improvement. The speedtest shows a download of 142Mbps with the Linksys. I unplugged the Linksys and powered up the old NetGear and I get downloads of 221Mbps. Plus, it randomly rebooted twice within one week. I turned off "automatic firmware" in case that was the cause but I don't see any way to view any logs to confirm the issue.

Terrible router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this router today. I was attempting to upgrade from my old Airport Extreme. After connecting and running through the setup it showed the correct download / upload speeds from my ISP (700 Mbps / 20 Mbps ) and I could achieve those speeds using a wired connection. However the wireless connection topped out at 130 Mbps for downloads. Also, the wireless range was terrible. The main floor of my house is 1200 square feet and I couldn't even get a signal standing in the living room with my router in the back bedroom ( about 30 feet away ). I tried several configuration options to no avail. I'm able to achieve around 350 Mbps on 2012 MacBook Pro and around 450 Mbps on my 2018 MacBook Pro using my old Airport Extreme. Needless to say I'm disappointed, and I'm returning this tomorrow. Maybe Netgear has something better.

BAD PRODUCT TO PURCHASE

Problems starting on day 1 of purchase.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I purchased this router the other day. I previously had a Netgear XR500 and had no problems. I hooked up the new router the other day and ran some speed tests and they were below average. On my Xr500 I would get into the 700’s on wireless, the MR9600 ranged randomly from 96, 300’s and randomly would top out into the 500’s for download. I was hoping it would be comparable to my last router. Fast forward to today and I am having connection issues, my signal keeps dropping on my girlfriends phone, my fathers phone and mine. We have 2 Apple phones and 1 Samsung. I have already restarted this router about 6 times today, not a good sign. My fathers Samsung phone has not been able to get back onto the WiFi for about 2 hours even though the app shows its online. I am very fed up to say the least after speeding over $400 and having problems right out the gate. I will be ultimately returning this product and purchasing an different brand of router with hopefully less problems. Also the whole app setup, get real honestly it’s more annoying than anything.

Absolutely NOT worth the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My expectation was to experience a net improvement in Wi-Fi performance and coverage in comparison to my AT&T gateway (BGW320). That's not been the case. While my home's Wi-Fi coverage improved slightly, I've been dealing with intermittent connection issues several times a week, even after several months of fiddling with configurations and talking with several tech support agents. The question I ask myself is this: Why spend almost $300 dollars and waste several hours talking to support, for less reliable connectivity than what I had before? Obviously, there isn't a good reason. Save yourself the hassle, check out the other wi-fi mesh systems.

GARBAGE!! Don’t waste your money!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is junk! Linksys is just crap! This is the second router we’ve had! First Linksys router lasted just over a year. We thought maybe we overloaded it or hit a bad seed! So we upgraded and replaced it with this one thinking it would be awesome! Worked great for maybe 4-5 months. Still dropped speed and signal and buffered a lot though! Now we are 7-8 month out and it’s dropping connection every day! Used to happen a couple times a day! Now it’s happening more than not like 30-40 times a day!! Only way to get it to come back is to power it off. I worked with tech support, reset it, you name it, JUNK!! I will never give them another penny of my money!! JUNK!!!

Wireless is intermittent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wireless is intermittent. We bought these routers brand new in December of 2020, and have experienced varying levels of problems ever since. It seems to be that the wireless traffic is intermittent. Apps like Netflix that buffer for a long time are fine. The most concrete example I have is an Ethernet connected Desktop connecting with an Wireless connected Laptop. In this setup I have the wireshark traces to show the networking problem. I thought I would give Linksys a chance, but it seems their chat support is too busy or down, and am unable to start a chat.

Problems Started After 2 months of use !!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked ok for 2 months . The it started to have problems. My HP printers would disconnect and i would have to restart them to print. Then Nest Door Bell and Thermostat would ramdomly disconnect. Next was slow connection speed. I have a 300 Mbps connection and the best i could get was 75 Mbps. And i am less than 10 feet a way !!! I got no help from Best Buy trying to return or replace it. I was told to contact Linksys !!! So i bought a Linksys WRT3200ACM and all my problems went away !!!!!!

Reboots weekly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great for a few days, then it reboots. I also purchased the Linksys velop WHW01P and this also reboots so I think the two do not get along together. The firmware was last updated in April of 2020, still at version 1. When it works it works great. Hopefully, Linksys will release a new update.
