very simple step by step set up. able to handle my smart home features, alexa, phillips hue, vivint home security, mobile phone door opener and locks, xbox, and 4 personal wifi devices with out lagging or slowing down. visually looks good. reboots after power outage and updates automatically. this should handle most requirements years ahead. the range is great and can still be connected on both levels of my house and out to the street,is also able connect mesh routers to extend ranger even more.

Great range and speed. Pleased with purchase. Got it on sale. Not sure if I would have paid full price for this. Still, recommend.

The max-stream ax6000 works pretty well for the most part. I still have a few issues with a show dropping all of a sudden and occasional buffering. Having a 1Gps fiber optic speed should be plenty for this router and a house the size of mine. All in all this router has performed fairly well.

The cost is a bit much but the ease of use, signal strength, and reliability make this a good value.

I thought I had a pretty decent internet setup, so I hesitated to spend this much to upgrade. I was already hampered with Comcast being my only option and my origin being a cable modem and not straight fiber. Let me tell you this new technology did two things supercharged the speed and gave a much better coverage for the entire house. This makes working from home during a pandemic much easier and makes you look good to clients as well. Make the jump, it’s worth it!!!

Wifi 6 router

It’s great. Wifi 6, 3000 sq ft, 40+ devices even though that many is not necessary. You need wifi routers for it to get more wifi, but this by itself works fine too. It has like 4-6 ports. Easy to setup by itself or with app. Very expensive and one of the best with 6.0 Gbps.

Marginal increase over old router

This unit was to replace an old ac1250 unit. My house is 1440 sq ft with the router centrally located. There did a dead zone within eye shot of the old router. After replacing my old unit the dead zone was still there. The speeds I got with a good connection is only marginally better than the 5 year old unit and there is also a slight increase in range. The router, although advertised for gaming, does not always enable uPnP and an open Nat type will be a fleeting experience requiring regular reboots that only temporarily remedy the situation. In my case I have two Xbox one consoles, this is also a problem for the router as mentioned before it has a hard time resolving which device to use which port and I will lose connection to communication servers semi-regularly. Performance is also hit and miss as the connection dramatically fluctuates which will result in a lost connection, a problem I did not have with my prior router. The new issues created vs the minimal gains to signal and speed are not worth it as it is not consistent and will cause you to regularly drop connection. This should not be advertised for gaming at all as it is difficult to setup (I didn’t even mention the terrible app required in order to complete setup, you will need a smartphone to complete installation, no exceptions). If you are a gamer, avoid this unit, if you use the internet for Mobile devices and apps then a cheaper unit might do. I am returning this router today, downgrading back to my 5 year old device has resulted in more consistent performance and a consistent connection.

I read several articles about Wifi 6 and its benefits. I researched several routers before deciding on this router. I bought it and installed it easily using the app and linked all my devices to it. I only had one problem linking to my smart lights because of the requirement to be 2.4. I logged into the Linksys system and registerd my unit and found a way to correct this . This unit allows me to use more devices without lag time.

I've been using this router now for a few months along with the Linksys MX10 Velop AX5300 Mesh system and so far I am very pleased with both the performance and reliability. The optional mobile app is actually useful.
There isn't too much I can say that others haven't already written about, but one big positive for me is that this router can actually handle 2.4Ghz-only devices when using one combined SSID for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies. Now that's not to say other routers don't advertise this functionality, but in practice I've found that using one SSID for both frequencies causes issues on other routers (I'm looking at you, Netgear). Not so with this Linksys router. It creates a much more seamless experience.
My biggest complaint is the device list on the web interface. I would MUCH rather have a table listing the devices than the funky GUI that Linksys is using. The troubleshooting tab has a nicer layout but then lacks the functions that the device list offers. Surprisingly the mobile app is actually more useful for viewing and managing devices than the web interface is.

Good wireless device for home. Has limited control over configuration. If easy setup is something you want then this is right for you. It give very good results at close range and on newer devices. Wired connections seems to drop-off sometimes. It has a mixed mode only for network settings, which means it will automatically switch between 2.5Hz to 5.0Ghz depending on the performance and support available in the device. So older devices will be force to connect to 2.5GHz resulting in low network bandwidth in those devices. For me the limited ability to setup different networks for 2.5GHz & 5.0GHz was a big disappointment for the price range of the device.

Hi, tkam,
The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi web interface on the Linksys MR9600 WiFi 6 Router should allow you to customize or separate your router’s wireless network. If you need assistance with the router, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with the link to this review for our reference.

I've owned several high end routers over the years and this router delivers exactly what I'd expect for the price. The signal is exceptional! Coverage of my home is complete! I've got a strong reliable signal in every room in my home, a strong signal at my mailbox, and a strong signal in the furthest corners of my backyard. I highly recommend this router. Thank you so much Linksys!

I think it’s good, unfortunately the internet service where I live is horrible (25mbs is the highest) so I can’t really see a difference between this router and my old router. However I did purchase this one to hopefully get rid of the dead spots at my house, unfortunately it didn’t get rid of all of the dead spots. Though that could most likely be a problem on my end and not the router itself. But Linksys is a very good brand and I do recommend them. The settings for the router are easy to use and easy to access. I’ve never had to call their customer service before, just from that alone I think it shows how reliable it is. If you’re deciding between this or Netgear… go for this. Netgear can go suck an egg.

I like this router and I found it extremely easy to set up, the thing that kept bothering me the most in the back of my mind was the price. I knew there were other routers with the same features and a whole lot cheaper.
I ended up returning this router and found the netgear WiFi 6 and it was well priced and I think works a lot better than the high priced Linksys.

We've been running this forover a month now in a 1900sq ft house and it's been great. i use the 400MB service through spectrum and i actually pull 450MB down and typically 30MB up. $400 is a lot to pay but if you have 10 plus devices and are streaming everything i think it's been worth it so far. Setup is super simple through the app as well
