I started the search for a new router soon after a firmware update on the Netgear router bricked my VOIP phone (Ooma). Replacing it with a newer model Netgear router did not help with the VOIP phone. I decided to give the Linksys a try and immediately the phone started to work! The ONLY problem I experienced was getting the Ring doorbell linked up. After multiple tries I called Linksys support (very easy and quick) and they were able to walk me through the process of separating the 2.4g and 5g networks. Apparently Ring doorbell needs the 2.4 network. Rest was easy. One strong recommendation. If you are upgrading from an older model router, be sure to use the same network name and passwords, if possible. This makes the transfer process easier. I have been using this router for almost a month and it is rock stable! No problems so far. It covers my single story 3800 sq ft home with ease. There is no need for range extenders. Love it and would strongly recommend it.

Instantly linked with the 3 nodes I had, this combined with 1g fiber I’m getting speeds 700+ mbps with no dead spots. I’m running 21 devices including smart cams, lighting, thermostat, tablets, phones, tv, and laptop. I still can stream HD movies, and live video conference with multiple users. Oh, and I saved $200

Poor performance, weaker signal than my AC router

I upgraded from Linksys EA9300, AC4000 router to this. The paid reviews give it glowing reviews, and reason I upgraded. But it turned out to be a downgrade from my 3 year old Linksys EA9300 router. The signal was top notch in same room as router, got 475Mb/s out of possible 500 max. As I moved out of the room, to my living room, 25 feet away, the signal dropped significantly, could only get 40Mb/s. As I moved upstairs, it could only get 2 to 10Mb/s. My old router got double to triple the speeds in same locations as this router. I have now exchanged and truly upgraded to Linksys MX10. Getting 400 Mb/s or higher in every nook of the house. Signal is very strong on the MX10, has 8 internal Antennas compared to the 4 in this router. If you own a home with multiple stories and larger than 2000 square feet, look elsewhere. Although this router claims 3000 square feet coverage, the signal drops really fast with distance.

      Hi, GadgetMan,

Several factors may have caused the limited speed and range, and optimizing the router’s settings could’ve improved its overall performance. Moreover, feel free to reach us at [email protected] should you need assistance with your other Linksys products. Our Escalation Engineers are always ready to give you a hand.

My old Linksys router was becoming out of date and I often had connectivity issues in my small house. This new router has fixed these issues, has great range, and I’m now getting my full advertised download speeds from my internet service provider. I did get it at half price for Black Friday.

Excellent wireless router. Fast and easy setup. Secure and straight-forward security settings. Much better than the Netgear RAX200 I had initially bought and was forced to return due to too many problems. Speed is super fast and reliable for both wireless and wired connectivity.

At long last I have my daughter and granddaughter happy now they can get the internet through out the house. It was easy to set up and only took a few minutes. The only downside was seeing it on your webpage for $319.99 after I paid $399.99 a few weeks earlier.

Had problems with the initial purchase. It kept dropping channels on the wireless. Lynksys customer support was great but in the end we had to return it to the store as the unit was defective. Replaced it with the same model and it has been working great ever since. You will need to use the pc based application if you wish to split the two bands into separate logins as the mo bile aps don’t allow you to do it. Call Lynksys customer support if you have any questions as they are very helpful. P.S. We have an 1800 square feet 2 level house and the coverage is fine.

I have been quite happy with my previous Linksys routers. This one did not disappoint. It is easy to set up and administer with a cell phone app. I can also still access it through the Linksys website but the cell phone app has proven to be the method of choice.

Easy set up. Great performance. I had the extenders before to cover my house. This new router covers the whole house with no extenders. Since it covers the whole house I haven't had the opportunity to try the mesh technology.

If you already have a decent mesh system or AC wifi router, I wouldn't recommend upgraded (especially if you have a internet connect of under 100mbps). Our 500mbps connection saw a slight improvement on WiFi. Previously on our AC3200 Series from ASUS we would get ~190/mbps on WIFI 5G connection. With this Linksys, we were able to get top speeds of 230/mbps. You still wont get the rated speed of your ISP connection unless you are directly connected to the router. For us, it's not enough of an upgrade to justify the price. Will likely return soon.

Super fast. Plenty of power to stream three phones, and a smart tv or two at the same time. I haven't had it lag no matter how many devices we have hooked to it. The Linksys app make it super easy to hook up and monitor usage.
