The best quality with the widest range. Much better than Google Nest or any Netgear router. It’s pretty expensive, but then it’s the best. I’ve tried them all.

We have accumulated a lot of devices over the years that connect to our wifi, like door bells, outlet plugs, computers, phones, door locks, cameras, etc... and our old routers were really starting to struggle with handling that many connections. These routers are blazing fast, easily handle all out connections, give us a range that goes well outside our yard, and are simple to use.
Only real downfall is the limiting factor of our internet service provider... AT&T. They still get an F rating.

If you are looking to find a mesh system to provide fast Wi-fi to all corners of your house and yard for lots of devices, look no further thatn the Linksys Velop AX5300. I received a 2 pack and it does a great job of providing great signal and speed to all of the areas in my large, old home. I have used other mesh systems to varying degrees of success. For one thing, my house is quite old and the walls and doors are made of thick, sturdy materials. Sometimes routers have trouble pushing the signal through the old materials. My family also uses a ton of devices, to the point that older technology is simply overwhelmed. I am thrilled to say that I have had nothing but a great experience with the Linksys Velop AX5300. Setup is very straightfoward, and it only took a few minutes to setup my new network. I downloaded the Linksys App to control the network, and I was impressed with all of the options that it was providing for me. Setting up the node was quick and painless. In theory, you could buy multiple nodes if desired and setup them all up as one network. I switched all of the devices over to the new network over the next few days, and if anything, every item worked even faster. I live in an area where there is only one fast internet provider, but it never felt like I was getting all of the speed that I could from my Charter 100Mbps connection. It does now! Eventually I had all of my devices moved over to the new network and I had everybody hop on a connected device and stream a movie at the same time. There were no reports of slow speeds, and my movie looked and sounded top quality. I also made it a point to test random connected devices in remote places in my house and even in my yard. No issues at all to report. I can't think of much else that a normal user is going to want out of a mesh router than consistency and performance, and the AX5300 delivers on both. Out of the box, the units are larger than some of my previous systems. Each stands over 9 inches tall and 4 inches deep and wide. Each note has an Ethernet port and 4 LAN ports. The LAN ports are fantastic for when your 2nd node is going into a gaming or entertainment space where you may want some wired connections for that little extra speed. Stylistically, the nodes do have a modern feel that may feel a little out of place in an older home, but you realize what the nodes are providing at such a high quality, it is no longer a big deal. I did some research on the AX technology, and it turns out that I don't have a modem that supports AX. AX is meant to be the next phase from AC technology, but it is hard to find good uses for it at this time because it is ahead of its time. On the other hand, it is somewhat future-proofed for years to come. Overall, I highly recommend this device for anybody that is a heavy internet user, especially if looking for a high-quality signal, great performance, and extended range.

I knocked my Orbi router off the shelf and broke it. If I need to buy a new kit, why not invest in one of the new WiFi 6 AX kits? Greater coverage and wicked speed? Sign me up.
Set up was easy, although you need to use their phone app for it, and the speed... OMG, the speed. If I'm right next to the router and on WiFi, I'm getting about 700Mbps out of a gig connection. That's good (and double what I was getting on AC). But it tapers off quickly as you move away from the router. Also, keep your expectations low on the increased range. I haven't actually found any range increase, but the speed over the same range is higher. I still needed a couple of extra nodes to hit some areas.
Unfortunately, I didn't pick up on what is NOT present -- VPN. Every router I've purchased in the last dozen years has VPN built in, but the most expensive WiFi kit out there can't do it? Are you kidding me? This goes back for exchange. Orbi, I'm coming home.

Hello, RiverRat42,
The Linksys MX10600 is a VPN Passthrough device. Also, each node of the Linksys MX10600 covers up to 3,000 square feet . However, upon placing the node, you may need to consider obstructions that may cause a connection concern. We could’ve tried to power cycle the node and run the channel finder feature to check its behaviour, and have our Escalation Engineers help you further. In case you have future concerns with any of our products, please feel free to send us an email at [email protected] with your contact info and the link of this review, so we can use it as our reference.
Regards,
Elyza Linksys Support

This was a replacement for a Linksys WRT3200ACM that kept dropping signals and I needed an upgrade. I also wanted to take advantage of the Wi-Fi 6 for my Playstation 5. I can't believe how much better this works with no dropped signals anywhere in my house. I am getting the full speed from my INSP and these things are amazing. They are a little pricey but so worth it, I bought these for $799.99 and they went on sale for $699.99 and I got back the difference on my card. I think they are on sale now for $499.99?

my mother has a huge house and we added these to her existing router. Great setup that even asked me to push the device out further for expanded range during setup. There are a lot of hallways in her house so getting a good signal in her craft room has always been an issue. These solved it. Loving the app as well; she was able to quickly see all her device and what router they are attached to. I feel confident leaving it in her hands knowing that I can connect to it anytime she may have an issue.

I have suffered with marginal WiFi in my largish (~5,000 sf) three level home for 12 years now. As I wanted WiFi to extend to a camera in the front yard, I decided to upgrade. I wasn't sure that a two-node system would cover the whole house, but as I was able to link the two units with wired ethernet cabling between them, I have enjoyed solid WiFi throughout the house and into the front and back yards. The system has been running without a hitch for about a month now and I am quite happy.

So I reviewed my MX10 purchase (same as this with 1 additional unit) several weeks ago. I started having intermittent performance and couldn’t figure the issue out. After Customer support fail- they juts didn’t ask the right Q’s I actually went back to basics and determined I may have a interference issue with the current Modem (Xfinity). I accessed the Xfinity user options and enabled “Bridge mode”.
After this, everting worked flawlessly. Great speed and consistent connection. Would recommend!
