Very good router. I know I don't get the best out of it because my internet isn't fast enough to tame the wifi 6 power. However, it is a major improvement over the first velop I had the wifi 5 version. I use this one to expand my wifi and it works very well. I don't really need to use the old one but I just have it plugged up for upstairs. Either way good purchase a bit pricey and linksys just released a newer version of this one for half the price.

I had older version of this and I was experiencing speed drop as I have 12 devices connected to the Wi-Fi then I decided to get this one and all of the devices are streaming perfectly and no slow down at all. With the older version, my average speed was always less than 100 Mbps. Once I installed these my average speed has always been over 400 Mbps as that's my speed. Installation is very easy. I was able to set up my system in less than 30 minutes.

Setup is relatively simple, all through Linksys app, I think they look cool, instantly better coverage than my AC router. Power brick is big but manageable, and price is high. I think it is worth it but others may not.

I have a 600mbps internet connection in my home office, and I didn't want those high speeds to be compromised by a sub-par mesh system. This one did not disappoint. Ended up spending about $1K to buy 3 units (one for each floor), but it was worth it. Speed and reliability are excellent throughout the house (even when uploading large video files AND streaming simultaneously), so I have no complaints. Highly recommended.

Replaced an older Linksys mesh system. Was worried about only having two nodes instead of three. The MX10s really rock. This system is a quantum improvement over the first gen units! On the old system our 4K Xfinity cable boxes constantly freezing up, not all with the new MX10s. Both of my sons work at Best Buy and were impressed with how fast this system works. It’s expensive, but worth every penny.

One of the two units in this two pack was not providing the same speed as the other. Linksys troubleshooting was excellent, decided it was a hardware problem, and is sending a replacement! Pricy but great specs, easy to use, great support. Overall, four out of five. A lower price and better out of box quality would make it five out of five.

Linksys Velop MX10 good mesh router not worth $700

I purchased this router for my daughter who had to move because of her work status. It was the only mesh router available in the area where she moved. The Linksys Velop MX10 is a decent mesh router, but does not merit a $700 price tag. Top theoretical speeds of the Linksys tops out at 1,147 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 1,733 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 2,400 Mbps on the second 5GHz band that acts as the system backhaul. Meanwhile, my $650 Arris Surfboard mAX Pro offers a backhaul band with theoretical speeds of 4,800 Mbps this is a big step UP from Linksys. It performed adequately for the size of the house my daughter is renting but the speeds that I observed on the Linksys were half the speed my devices would see using WiFi on my Arris Surfboard mAX Pro network at home. I personally would hold off on a network upgrade unless the price of this two-piece setup were say $190 to $200.

      Hi, tron49,

The Linksys Velop MX10600 system should deliver speeds of up to 5.3 Gbps but, you can try to use the channel finder on the Linksys app and, update the firmware to optimize the nodes.

For Me, Difficult To Set Up But Worth the Effort

It took three hours spread over two days to set up and configure the AX5300, but in the end it was worth and I'm glad I made the purchase. When making the initial install, the Android app for Linksys didn't work: the installation process stalled and wouldn't proceed, and no manner of restarts, purges, etc. could change this. (The strength of this app is the ease of installation for most systems, but if something goes wrong, the app is of little or no value.) I contacted technical support and they were EXTREMELY helpful, patiently trying everything in the book to fix the problem. (The first thing they did, BTW, is bypass the Android app.) The first instance took TWO hours, and the tech specialist was with me all the way. After getting only marginal internet connectivity, technical support escalated the help ticket to Level 2. The next day, they were in touch with me and we spent another hour getting things right. The system now runs fine with no problems. Even with the rocky start, technical support got me through it, and I have no regrets in making my purchase.

Amazing speeds when it is working, been having to reset devices to reconnect to it constantly. Subpar security, and not a lot of settings to tinker with. Perfect for set it up and forget it until you have to reset it or a device to work

      Hi, Steve,

If you encounter dropping connection behind the Linksys MX10600, then try running the channel finder and do a power cycle to your networking devices. Allow us to have it checked with our 2nd Level Support Team by sharing this over email at [email protected] with your contact info and the link of this review, for our reference.

I had purchased a Linksys Velop mesh router system and have several nodes throughout the house. I was having challenges with nodes getting dropped, so I returned and upgraded to this version. So far (6 weeks), it's working a lot better and coverage is great. I wouldn't recommend this set-up to my parents and try to have them set it up and manage it - if something goes haywire, you need to know how to get in and fix it. The phone app is good, but logging in via IP on the computer has a lot more administrative options. It seems if the firmware gets out of sync between nodes, there is a challenge. I have automatic upgrades on now and so far, it's okay. If you're trying to add nodes to an existing system, expect to call Linksys for support...I will say their customer service is really good and accessible!

    A Great Whole House Network

Once set up- having one WiFi Network for the entire house is great and it has very fast download speeds and all of my devices work well on the network. I have had it working for 1 month now and only had to reboot it once. There is little dicumentation with them and while the setup is fairly easy- looking at the online videos was very helpful to ensure they are setup correctly.

The units are a little difficult to connect to the closest device. But when you get it all connected it works well. I gave 4 stars because of the app, it’s glitches here and there. Wanted to future proof my home and after researching the available WiFi 6 options this one had the highest reviews and it does perform well.
