All that's needed is an unused USB port. I installed the drivers from the enclosed CD , then updated them from the Linksys website. The speed test showed the download speed doubled from 85 to 170 Mbps! I highly recommend it.

The only flaw is it would periodically lose connection, maybe 4 times a day, unplug and replug in and good to go. Could be my thick walls causing that though.

Just what I needed!

This USB adapter was just what I needed. It was easy to setup and it works flawlessly in the new location. It turns on when my PC wakes up and I haven't had any problems with it connecting or staying connected to my wireless network.

This new product was recommended by a very knowledgeable Best Buy salesperson so I bought one. Setup was not as easy as plug and play but the fallback setup did work and I was able to connect to the internet. Still drops connection a dozen times a day but at least I have always been able to reconnect.

The WUSB6100M Wireless Adapter is designed to work with Windows 10 Operating System. As for the setup process, it should be quick and easy since you can install the drivers automatically via Windows Update. To avoid connectivity issues or dropping connection, make sure that the driver is up-to-date and your PC is within the router's Wi-Fi range. Instead of taking it to the repair shop, I bought this USB adapter and it works good as new. I don't know what the computer shop charge would have been to replace the built in WiFi, but I'm betting it would be more than $39.95! Very cost effective solution.

One recommendation is to not allow Windows to turn the power off to the adapter in low-power states as it causes disconnections but this is true on any USB wireless adapter.

Decided to just pick this USB one up to get me up and running and to have as a backup. Glad I did. This Linksys is running at 433 Mbps where my onboard one was running much slower. Good purchase.

I don't know if it's my old computer or what but I just have to remove it and plug it into a new USB port for it to work. A bit of a hassle but it works when it does work.
