Is everything the geek squad associate said it was. Our wi-fi signal is strong throughout the house and like the idea that more towers could be added if needed.

I was shopping something that would help with the wifi dead spots in my house. And after narrowing down the different brands I decided to try the Linksys - Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System. The best purchase ever. I placed a receiver on each level of my house for complete coverage. No more dead spots or failed connections. I now get full wifi coverage in my entire. Great for streaming TV. Setup was little tricky but the customer service was great.

I was having issues in my home for months with my various devices buffering when trying to watch videos, or browser hanging when trying to surf the web. I have decent internet yet figured that was the issue due to troubles in the past, though all tests said no issues. Really it was a router issue, and my router was not keeping up with so many devices in my home coming and going all the time. I purchased this three pack, with a simple to follow instruction set, and in less than a half hour I was no longer having issues. Oh, the coverage footprint was awesome as well. Would easily recommend.

For two years I've been trying to expand my wi-fi signal from one end of house to the basement far end. I tried different extenders/expanders with limited results. The signal was weak resulting in a very slow internet and streaming. With Velop, the results have been overwhelming! I finally had the network to reach all areas of the house with very little signal degradation. I purchased the 3 pack and needed them. After trying to place them in the basement and having location problems, I started over upstairs and had success. Download a free wi-if analyzer app to help with locating each one.

My Asus RT-AC3100 died after almost two years, so I finally dove into the world of mesh wireless. Although the Linksys Velop is pricey, I thought that it would be the best after reading some reviews. The setup was very easy and I really liked the look and settings the mobile app. The mobile app did seem slow to respond but I figured that would fix with regular updates. I have a 300Mbps download speed with my ISP and did receive most of that throughout the home with the Linksys Velop, but many times my phone and PC would not get handed-off from one node to the other causing it to have a much slower speed. I tested it for almost two weeks, and during that time I had lost connections a few times on more than one PC. This really never happened on my Asus RT-AC3100. I was willing to sacrifice faster gigabyte wireless speeds from my old router to better overall speed/performance with mesh networking but I feel that the Linksys Velop had too many hiccups. During my using the Velop the lights on a couple of the nodes would turn orange meaning they are too far from each other. Linksys states that the 3 node Velop package should cover 6000sq feet. My home is less than a third of that, and with two of the nodes being within line of sight from each other I didn't think that it should turn from blue to orange. Resetting the power on the node seemed to fix this for a while. When testing my speed, it was sometimes great showing 250Mbps+. Other times I could barely get 10Mbps download with 1Mbps up. Maybe it will work for you, but I ended up returning the Linksys Velop 3pk. I exchanged it for the eero Pro 2nd gen and am really happy with them.

      Hi,

This is a very odd behavior for the Velop System. Make sure that the firmware of the nodes is up to date to avoid these types of challenges. We can have our Escalation Engineers look into your network for further troubleshooting.

Loving this mesh network. We were on the hunt for a system that provided coverage to a 2300 square foot house that covered all areas of our 1 acre property as well as the ability to reach out into a large shop built from cinderblock. IT WORKED!!! and it worked perfectly. The price is high yes, but I am someone that will pay that if I get everything I need from a product. Set up took some time but it's not complicated at all. If you can read instructions on your smartphone, you'll be fine. Love it and I would recommend it to anyone who needs wide spread wifi coverage.
