Bought these to add to my existing Velops. We have 4 total and Coverage over the Whole House. The lowest speeds are in a garage room that has a brick wall between it and the Velop. That room gets a solid 60-70mbs.The rest of the house is 150-230mbs depending on how Charter is doing that day.Kinda pricey tho.I wish all Mesh Mfgrs would standardize so we could mix and match.

Been a netgear guy forever and swapped to this. Hands down best performance I’ve had ever. Easy to use and I’m even pulling 100mpbs in the middle of the street about 100 yards away. I have gig speed internet and I get full 850mbps at the router and anywhere from 250 to 500mbps on my phone depending on time of day. Only way it could get better would be to go with the MX-10

I had a wi-fi router provided by my ISP. In addition, I had an extender. It helped, but connection quality was inconsistent, and coverage, especially in the back bedroom, was weak. This is a single story home that is just over 2000 sq. ft. I would consider myself somewhat tech savvy, even as a senior citizen. I had been reading about mesh systems over the last year. I wish I had bought and installed one sooner--except for the good sale price I got! Setup was a breeze. The downloadable app walks the installation through one clear step at a time. The only thing that caught me a little off-guard was the time it takes for each access point. Once you answer all the setup questions, it took about 6 minutes each time for each of the nodes. I did not do anything special, though I have read about some connecting them together wirelessly and THEN hooking up the hardwire option! I now have a strong connection EVERYWHERE in the house! I have a TV in the back bedroom with a Firestick. Before, it had a weak connection and would frequently tell me it was weak and would stop playback. I know longer have that problem! I would highly recommend this Linksys product for its ease of installation, it's price (on sale!) and its complete coverage!

This WiFi system is great. It has filled every dead spot I used to have throughout my Home. Know I have a signal in every room and even down in my Basement. With the help and research of myself; along with BestBuy representatives This investment will pay for itself in no time at all...!!!!! I invite others to try this product and watch all the unlimited control you will have over your entire Network. Linksys customer care will walk you through each step and even help with the entire Setup as well. And if I forgot to mention it..... You can add even more Linksys Nodes usisng there ( Linksys App ) to make an even secure signal platform without FAIL.

I received this as a promotional Unit to try out and review it. I did not purchase it or am I being paid to write this review. The Velop I got was the 2 package unit. It is suppose to cover 4000 sq.ft. I have another Linksys router, the 1900 series and even though it is fast I was still having deapspot in my house, especially in the basement. This house is 3 levels so I put one unit in the Living Room and the other in the Basement. To my suprise I have no deadspots on any level including the outside front porch area. I get full bars on all my devices with Wi-Fi. The streaming of movies is also no cliches or problems when playing them. Setting this up was very easy. All I had to do was plug in the units and install it with the Linksys Smart app. I use android phones so that is how I did it. I already had the app installed on my phone as that is how I setup and accessed my othe Linksys router. To install the Velop series I had to logout of my current account and then it picked up the Velop in the living room first and all I had to do was create a new account with another email address and login. It is very simple as you just have to plug the first unit in and connect in via the supplied ethernet cable to your cable router. It found that unit and asked me to name it and create a password for it. Next it found the one in the basement and it asked me to name it and that was it. I even tried out the ethernet on the one in the basement by hooking up a laptop to it via ethernet cable and it hooked up with no problem finding the internet. I would high recommend this for anyone that has problems with deadspots in their home as this Velop system is great and the speeds are fantastic. When it was time to upgrade I tried to get away with a workhorse gaming/4k tri-band system and a repeater to cover the far vestiges of my home. The repeater was slow and would frequently sputter in and out. A couple of the sales consultants at Best Buy chatted with me for a solid half hour about the various mesh systems. The Velop seemed to be the best fit for my needs as I returned the other unit. The Velop works exceptionally well. The set up instructions could be better...or at least present in a useful form. Anyway aside from that gripe the main unit set up easily at the front portion of my home in our office. The satellite unit was equally easy. I did give it a final restart after configuration and initial set up. It worked out a minor bandwidth slow down I experienced...could have been transient from the ISP too. I have a 3500 sq ft two story long home. The primary unit covers most of it. The other is about 5/6 of the way across the house on the second floor and it's range extends as far as the back yard easily. The GUI is pretty nice too. It lets you prioritize certain feeds and you can manually assign channels; although, the automatic process seems to present no problems for us. I should not that we have about 28 devices connected with approximately 15 of them "always on". So far so good...I would have to highly recommend this if you are looking for a fast router/mesh that can support a large area, sustain a number of simultaneous devices, and experience only minor hiccups. We chose the two unit model and it is more than enough, three almost seems like over kill even for a modest McMansion.

This Velop replaced an old "Self Configured" mesh I had since 2010. Instillation was a breeze, no problems at all during the process, contrary to my first attempt while installing a Netgear Orbit with Circle that was a complete mess. In my "humble" opinion, Circle makes Orbit a horrible product. This Velop is simple, does what its supposed to do, its fast, easy to use and the phone App has a nice GUI.

After installing the product, I found the connection throughout the house to be great. After months of losing signal strength in various locations of the house (house is 2600 sq feet), once installed, those issues disappeared. It was easy to set up and very user-friendly. I used the app on my phone to help with the set-up and connection. A little pricey, but I think it is worth it,

I purchased the Linksys Velop Tri-Band 3-pack (in black) when my ISP-provided Altice router started giving trouble. I had been thinking of getting a mesh wifi system for a while, and this was the kick I needed to get me to do it. I researched various mesh network options, and this one looked like it would be ideal. The three towers are stylish and quite small - smaller than I imagined from the images online. I had a few worries before I purchased because I have a Sonos speaker system spread across various rooms in the house, and I had read about issues with Sonos and mesh wifi networks not playing well together - including the Linksys Velop system. The Sonos/Velop issues reported seemed mostly old though - back in 2017, so I hoped they had been resolved. Firstly the setup. It was super-easy - far easier than it had any right to be. You download the Linksys app to your phone, use the option to install a new system, and follow the simple instructions. The old router is taken out of service, and the first (main) node of the Velop system connects to the cable modem in its place. I had the first node set up in around five minutes, including the time spent unplugging, untangling and removing the old router. In my case, the old Optimum wifi was set up with two separate SSIDs - one for 2.4Ghz and one for 5Ghz. I wanted the new system to work in the same way, using the same SSIDs and the same passwords. This necessitated me switching briefly to the Linksys Web ui at http://linksyssmartwifi.com for this part, because for some bizarre reason the phone app doesn't have the ability to set separate SSIDs for each, but it wasn't difficult to do so I won't mark them down for it. Once the first node was set up and both SSIDs were active, all my household devices connected automatically to the new wifi network without me having to go to each one and manually join the network. Perfect! The next steps were to add in the two "slave" Velop nodes, again using the phone app. As before, this was really simple to do. Each node took around six minutes to add, and I had managed to find good spots in the house for each according to the app. I commented to my wife that it seemed too easy - what had I missed? I hadn't tested my Sonos speakers yet, though... So, on to the Sonos question. Would the speakers work? Would they drop out or skip music? In my old wifi setup the speakers were connected directly to the wifi on the 2.4Ghz SSID - I don't use a Sonos Boost or have any of the speakers hard-wired via an ethernet cable. I want the new system to work in the same way ideally. I first checked the Linksys app and saw the speakers were all connected successfully to the wifi (on the 2.4Ghz SSID as this is all Sonos supports currently). Interestingly every one of them connected to the main Velop node, even though some were closer to the other slave nodes. Interesting, but they all still had good signal according to the Linksys app. So on to the test. The Sonos app on my phone showed all rooms present and correct, and I searched for an artist to begin with. I was surprised to find the search in the Sonos app seemed much quicker than before. Coincidence or Velop? Hmmm. A good start anyway. I played the music to all rooms, and it worked. No missing speakers. No dropouts. No skipping. It just worked. I left it playing for two hours straight and it never missed a beat. Score another one to Linksys (and Sonos?) for that - they do actually work well together. My next challenge was my Plex servers. I have two - one for hosting movies and one for music. The movies server is an old Dell Studio laptop, now running Ubuntu Linux, and it has an old wifi card that only connects at 2.4Ghz. As with the Sonos speakers, it just connected on its own - but in this case to the node nearest to it. Consequently it has excellent signal strength. I checked the Plex dashboard and saw it wasn't available outside my network (Plex supports streaming from anywhere, not just at home, and uses port forwarding to open up a port to allow access from outside your network). There is an option to disable, then re-enable remote access from within the Plex dashboard, so I tried this. I'm delighted to say it worked - Plex then reported remote access was available, without me having to go into the Velop app and manually configure port forwarding for it. To test it, I turned off wifi on my phone and connected to my plex server using the cellular network. It just worked. Score another one for Linksys there. The other Plex server is an old MacBook Pro running macOS, and sadly this one had not re-connected to the wifi automatically. I'm pretty sure it never did on the old wifi network either though. It connected immediately when I asked it to join the new network, and the Linksys app showed it on the 5Ghz network connected to the slave node nearest to it. Perfect! As with the other server, I had to manually disable and re-enable remote access to get it to work, but it was easy to do, and I'm happy to report no port forwarding needs manually defining for either. So far everything on my network appears to be stable and working well. It has only been a day, so time will tell how stable things are long-term, but it's a great start. By this point my old Altice router would have dropped all wifi and wired connections and needed a hard power-off and back on to get things working again. Based on all of the above, I'm giving the Linksys Velop Tri-Band Mesh Wifi System (3 Pack) a solid five stars.

We have a space of over 7,000 square feet. We previously installed three Linksys's nodes and while that nearly covered the space, sometime a node would drop because of the distance; therefore, decided to add two more. What we like most about the system is the ease in adding nodes: a piece of cake. The app is great too and now we have complete coverage.

Needed to replace a 5 year old Linksys router so decided to try this in my 3 floor townhouse (about 1800 sq ft). Installed one node on each floor. Went from about 50mbs DL at the site of the router to about 125 consistently throughout the house. Highly recommended for whole house WiFi. Very easy install, only took about a half hour total. Only two cons are it’s kinda pricey and the lack of Ethernet ports.

Like the performance I am getting. fairly simple to set up. you will have to re set up if changing modem down the line. the App has solved any and all issues I had. You can hard wire together to get even more coverage in my opinion, I am a novice basic home owner wanted wifi in my pole barn and I just added a node via hard wire Cat 6/5. Im happy.

I replaced my TP-Link Archer C9 which seemed to be slowing down and I am moving into a bigger home soon. The setup on the Velop was easy with just a minor hiccup. I placed one downstairs the other upstairs and anywhere in my home I have full strength with seamless transition between nodes. Not only that but the speed is improved. I like how I can prioritize devices. Overall, this is pricey but very good.

I was starting to have lots of problems with my Luma system and decided it was time to upgrade. I was hoping to hold out a bit for WiFi 6 to come to market but couldn't take always haveing to reset the Luma. I had looked around at the reviews and this one always came out on top. I decided to get the Tri Band vs. the dual band for extra performance as we do have four folks in the house and not inconceivable that we could all be streaming on the same hotspot with at least one of them in 4K HDR. The system was very easy to install, much faster than setting up the Luma. I have Ethernet wires going to each of the locations where the routers are so that may have made it easier. Performance is relatively good in all of the locations. I can move between hotspots and "generally" there are no delay issues. I haven't tried using VoIP calls, but I imagine there may be a second of lost sound when switching. I haven't really played around with the advanced features. The app on my Galaxy seems to be stable, but like I said, I really don't use it much. My main focus has been good coverage on my two story ranch which being built in the 50's has lots of plaster walls that love to suck up WiFi signals.

Went to buy and extender but changed my mind over Velop after consulting with staff. Picked this up on sale and the difference in WiFi coverage is remarkable. Gaps is WiFi are gone and speed is consistent across the house. Easy setup that took roughly 15 minutes and very intuitive, especially with the app. Highly recommend after roughly 6 weeks of use.

So, I have been going through a lot of routers lately and I think I finally came across one that is giving me the best internet from almost anywhere in my home. So long story short, I started with an older Asus router that died after 2 years because of a bad storm.. no biggie.. I loved my Asus router but it was getting a bit slow at times and causing some internet lag so after the storm took it out, it was time to replace it.. So the first router I purchased was the netgear orbi ... That was a disaster and I actually returned that back to the store because it was just garbage.. after several days hooked up to my 400Mbps internet, I couldn't get more than 25Mbps usually out of the thing... just horrible.. While the main Orbi could get 400Mb once you left the room that was it.. So I returned that and purchase the Netgear Nighthawk X10.. Well that was another disaster as it was incompatible with most of the items on my network.. like my Sonos Speakers and Philips Hue bridge.. in fact anything I plugged into the ethernet ports on the router would work for a little bit and then it wouldn't be able to connect to the internet any more.. Oh well, the wifi on it was pretty decent though.. Then I found that if I didn't reboot the router on a regular basis my internet would get to the point it just wouldn't work.. another router piece of junk.. So I decided to try out the link sys velop because I've used a lot of link sys devices in the past and they worked well.. So far so good.. The only downside currently that I have with these is they only have 2 ethernet ports on each of the satellites and you get 3 in the box.. So with the main one, I have my internet and my Philips Hue bridge.. I would need to go and get a gigabit switch to attach other devices to it over ethernet, like my xbox one and stuff. As far as the wifi.. it works very well.. the only thing I might do is break up my 5GHz and 2.4GHz into their own networks instead of both freqs being on the same network SSID.. other than that everything is working like a champ and I haven't had to reboot the devices yet and I am still getting full internet out of them.. We're going to keep our fingers crossed that I finally found a router that can handle my house and work like a champ all the time!
