Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, coverage, and setup, frequently citing its simple installation and strong signal. Many also praise the system's range and performance, reporting consistently reliable connectivity. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price. A limited number of Ethernet ports was also a recurring point of feedback.

I needed a way to bump up my wi-fi throughout the house. After being helped by a very knowledgeable Best Buy associate, this was my choice. I knew I could trust Linksys. Set-up with the app loaded on my phone went very smoothly. I am no tech wizard, so I was thrilled that set-up went so well. I am having a little trouble getting good signal strength in my basement, but that is a location issue I have yet to resolve.

The lynksys router I recently purchased covers my whole house. In the long run it is way cheaper than the Cox router I was renting.

There is only one con for these devices: they use a smartphone app to set them up (I prefer a browser-based config). Otherwise. there’s no corner of my house (3 floors) or back patio that doesn’t have maximum signal. It overcomes issues with channel congestion due to neighbor’s WiFi. I use the bridge feature so that our wired network and WiFi are the same network. I should have done this years ago.

The only reason I rated this a 4 is because I haven't used it long enough to give a 5. So far it is working great tho

I wish I would have bought it sooner! There is no more lagging or blue wheel of death when trying to stream video. I currently have a firestick, 2 phones, 2 lap tops, PS4, and XBOX hooked up and have zero problems from any device. I am in a two story 1800 sqft house. Best part...THE PARENTAL CONTROLS!!! They are accessible from the app that you download to your phone during set up. It prevents my teenage son from fortnite binging on the PS4. I tell everyone about it and highly recommended it.

First off, this new product put out by Linksys is looking to create a whole-home Wi-Fi network for your home. This system, the $499 version, comes with three nodes, whereas you can purchase them individually for $199. And the packaging is marvelous. With that out of the way, this system is the best whole-home Wi-Fi network product out there right now, hands down. Let's start with the setup: remember those old instruction booklets that were terrible to read and to understand? Well, those are now gone. Linksys decided to have installation via there Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app, and this process is/was a breeze. Simply download the app via Google or iOS and start the setup. Steps were simple, very simple, and I had the network up and running in less than 15 minutes. The other plus about the app system is that you can manage the whole network seamlessly, rather than having to login to the router via a computer. A great addition. Moving on, the coverage you get with three nodes is quoted at covering 6000 sq. ft, and I imagine this is true. I only tested with a 3300 sq. ft. house, but no deadspots found inside the house, and only minimal speed drops the further away from a node you would go. I noticed no speed stuttering with this system, unlike my EA9500 router, where I've truly had frequent issues with it, even though it's a powerful router. I get better speeds than my IP quotes me at, and that's enough for me. The system is fluid, and can act as a stand alone router system or connect to an already equipped router to revamp the signal to greater lengths. Some of my only gripes about the Velop system so far is that there are no USB ports on any of the nodes, and there are only two Ethernet ports on each node. This means for anyone wanting a better configured wired-network or wireless network storage device you must purchase an ethernet switch. Those aren't dealbreakers, of course, but just notes. Also, since this is a brand new product, there aren't certain features available that, more than likely, will be in the future (such as IPv6, better Parental Controls, in-depth system tools, etc.), and there may be bugs that need working out. All in all, a great product that looks to pioneer the new whole-home Wi-Fi system of tomorrow. It also looks great. What more could you ask?

This product works. I shouldn’t need to get excited about a product performing as promised but I am. My last 2 expensive routers from Netgear had short life cycles and needed constant care. Resetting the router 2-4 times daily was the norm. I have never had to reset my new device from Linksys. It just works as promised.
