    Superb Wi-Fi

I picked up this system as an upgrade from my Google Wi-Fi (an already incredible system that's difficult to top) and I was highly impressed. It takes a little longer to set up compared to the Google Wi-Fi but once it's up and running it's worth it. The connectivity is great, the routers will alert you if they're offline, they have ethernet ports for direct connectivity, the app lets you know how many devices are connected and to which node, you can prioritize up to 3 devices for connections, run speed tests on your connection, and much more. I've only had this system for a week and it is well worth it!

I like the easiness of the Linksys Velop from the simple setup to the very easy add on feature of new equipment to the system. I gave this product 4 stars because I don't like the fact you can't use your laptop or PC to connect to the Linksys like previous router's. Every time I use my laptop and go to 192.168.1.1 I am forced to a webpage of Linksys Velop Whole Home Wi-Fi then I go to Linksys Smart Wifi again and I am able to login in but then taken back to Linksys Velop Whole Home Wi-Fi and still not allowed to use my laptop to do any setup functions on my Home Wi-Fi system.

    Fastest internet speeds.

Never had internet speeds this fast. Been paying internet provider for a long time for speeds that never reflected in speed test and fought tooth and nail with them about what could be causing the problem. Even if I connected to the modem directly via Ethernet cable, I would not see speeds above 100mbps. Now with Velop my speeds are consistently well over 150mbps with 10+ devices wirelessly connected with no drop in performance. May be a little hefty in terms of price but well worth it.

We built a 6000 sq ft house and I hired an AV guy (first mistake) to do my wifi. He swore by a Luxul router with Luxul wireless commander and 6 hard wired access points (main floor, basement, upper level, garage, pool deck, and pool house). Performance was awful. Lucky to pull 10 mbps even though Spectrum provides over 50. System would constantly drop devices and not hand off successfully from one AP to the next. He'd come out, reset the system, and a speed check would be good right then and there with significant drop off. He blamed it on Spectrum of course. I finally got fed up and bought this system just to see what it would do, fully expecting it to suck and to return it (how could mesh beat wired access points??). Well, I only have 4 nodes and this is the best internet we've ever had. Speeds up to 60 mbps right next to a node, with my worse speed by 10 mbps out in the garage. No dropped devices and no connection issues. I had a little problem connecting the first time (tip, turn off but don't power cycle the modem and quickly turn off and then turn on your main ethernet-connected node to force a DHCP connection) but customer service was outstanding and PATIENT. I've since bought four more nodes "just in case". I can't tell you if Velop is better than other mesh networks, but I love the app UI and the simplicity. It's made my home life better and I just couldn't be happier.

I had the NetGear RAX120, and although its the most powerful router in the market in nearly all aspects, there are still blind spots in the house (2400 Sqf.), besides, I wanted the Upnp /DLNA that the RAX120 has, which no mesh had or will have. So, I bought this Linksys (had always Linksys routers so far), to attach to one of the RAX120 Ethernet ports and act as the distributer on another SSID all over the house for those blind spots. Installation was easy (though Linksys do not tell you that their off the box IP is 10.*.*.* and had to discover that the painful way) and assign a separate base IP for the mesh (192.168.2.0) from that of the RAX120 (168.192.1.1). Put a node on each of the 3 house levels, with the base node dierctly connected to the RAX120 in the basement. Signal strength and speed on that SSID is exactly equal to the RAX120, and I have all devices that are in a blind spot connect to the Linksys, and all other to the RAX120. If only mesh manufacturers can add UPnP/DLNA function to their mesh, one doesn't need all that trouble and cost.

I purchased the 3 pack of Velop and it worked fantastic with no dead spots and great speed. 80 feet in my back yard I have a Gazebo and wanted full internet back there, but since it was so far from my house, there was limited signal. I purchased this Velop to increase my signal at that distance and it worked as expected. Having these 4 Velop all linked together cover my house and back yard.

Had this unboxed and working in less than 1/2 hour. App is easy to use, initial setup is a breeze, and speeds (ping/up/down) are all fantastic so far. I’m sure I’ll spend a good day setting all the advanced settings to my liking, but very impressed upon initial setup. Excellent coverage from 3 nodes to my 4,000 SF home and 1,000 SF garage. A+ So far...

Do you want WiFi blanketing a good few thousand ft of your place with reliable speeds? This is what you want then. Had mine for a long while now, all I can say is that it has worked flawlessly with no issues, no dead zones, consistent speed, no hassle whatsoever. Simple setup, set up guest networks through an app, set priorities / restrictions, love it.

I got this system to replace my Apple time capsule which worked great but I started to automate my house and it was being overwhelmed. I got this system which was easy to set up and does great in supporting all my gadgets. My only complaint is that it will occasionally need to be reset cuz it stops connecting.

I could not believe how easy this was to set up and the impressive coverage and speeds we are now getting all over our property. We have two homes that are next door to each other. Both are concrete block. My three node system is providing very solid coverage everywhere in both homes and in the back yard. It wasn’t cheap but so far for our situation, so worth it!

These did exactly what I wanted. They eliminated those areas of the house where you might get 1-2 signal bars on weak devices like fire tablets and ipads. They also provide a strong signal for our Roku sticks around the house. I went with Velop due to price. I didn't want to pay for 3 access points when I was sure 2 would do. The signal strength is very impressive. My iPhone doesn't lose connection until I'm at the end of our street. There's not a place in our house where you don't get 4-5 bars of signal strength with any device. Setup is simple, but you're probably setting them up wrong. If you just plug them in to a cable modem then you're probably going to have a "double nat" situation where both the cable router and these access points are running DHCP and NAT. This will work, but it can also cause problems and is unnecessary overhead. In my case, putting the cable modem into bridged mode was not supported, so I put the Velop system in bridge mode. That means my cable modem is handling DHCP/NAT and not the Velops. You lose some features like parental controls and such, but that doesn't bother me. I want the fastest network possible. So far I'm really happy with these. No regrets.

    Quick Glance

The Linksys Velop is one of the best mesh networks I’ve tested so far. It offers a strong collection of features, very good performance, and comes with a three-year warranty with 24/7 tech support. The Velop is also the only one of the three routers to support MU-MIMO right out of the box. The ethernet connections automatically configure themselves for WAN or LAN duties, and each satellite Velop can also function as a wireless access point or a wireless bridge for clients that would otherwise need to be hardwired to your network. You’ll need a smartphone or tablet to set up and configure a Velop router, as there is no web client. The app (there are Android and iOS versions) pairs with the router’s Bluetooth 4.0 radio and then steps you through the rest of the process, which includes setting a Wi-Fi password for the router. As you add each node, the app automatically evaluates the strength of its connection to the next closest node and will suggest moving it closer if the connection is weak. Pros Robust feature set Exceptional performance under stress (and at range, with two nodes or more) Attractive, unobtrusive industrial design Cons Only two ethernet ports No USB port for storage or printer support

I bought this to cover a large area. Initially set up 2 of the hubs and tested connection speeds - 360mb/sec consistently across 2 floors with just over 2500 sq ft each. Was even faster within 20 feet of either hub. Setup was incredibly easy with the Linksys app. Best part is only having to manage one SSID - this mesh network is so much better than using extenders.

    Good Wi Fi Mesh System

The system itself is easy to set up and the app is good. I bought these to add on to a system I already had in place for a several story townhouse. I added these two "child nodes" to an existing nodes because the speed of the velop system was slow. It was simple to add the new nodes to the existing velop system. But I still wasn't getting the speed I should so I called customer service. They spent a long time stepping me through fixing the speed. It took a couple of calls to finally get it right, but the customer service was really great. What I found out was that these mesh systems are limited and depend heavily on the makeup of your home. I would recommend these, but if you have a several-story townhome or large house you should compare this system versus some others to see what works best. (These were also pricey as compared to other mesh systems available today)

This product replaced a single Asus router. This allowed me to have better coverage and consistent speed all through the house. I have a 3400 sq ft home. I have one downstairs on the north side and one upstairs on the south side. Perfect coverage. I love that I can restart it, manage it, etc right from my phone. Static dhcp address for a printer? No problem!

I recently switched to FIOS and this router does not put out the speeds that FIOS provides with there Gigabit connection, however the speeds are not slow either. I can get over 800mb connection with these. Even with this mesh network system the nodes at least in my house just seem to not have a wide enough range between them and I don’t have a large house. It’s possible that the materials that were used to build this house are just too dense for the signal to get through. I constantly have my upstairs node dropping off and both my nodes are connecting to the main node instead of daisy chaining like they should maybe it’s due to them being on different levels of the house, I don’t know. It still surfaces though and I run it side by side with my FIOS router. If you have FIOS and have the The Home router designed for gigabit speeds. Purchase their mesh router extender. The Home Router is a much better and faster connection over this.

We were getting slow internet speeds when we all started working from home. We upgraded the internet to 1 GB but the speeds we were getting over the cable providers router were less than 1/20 of that. Converted our wifi over to the linksys mesh system (main node connects to router by ethernet cord). Took less than 20 minutes to set up the 3 node system and the process is simple and very user friendly. Our wifi speed increased from the 25-30 mbps we were getting to over 600 mbps as soon as our devices connected through the mesh. Bonus feature is that the additional nodes are wireless network extenders-so now there is terrific wifi throughout the place. Pros: simple set up Up and running in minutes Great connection speeds Cons: make sure you know the login information for your router because you will need to change your routers wireless settings. This is standard and not truly a con, but you should consider having someone assist with setup if you are not familiar with changing router settings.
