I had an issue with my internet service at home using a modem/router combo. I added a game room next to my garage and could not get wifi to reach back there. I should point out that my garage is in the back of the property, about 50 feet away from the house, and 75 feet away from the placement of my modem/ router combo. I decided to replace the combo unit with two separate items per the advice of a Best Buy employee. Since the game room was so far away from the internet connection source, I was told that the Linksys Velop would be what I needed to solve the issue. It states that it can cover a 6000 Sq Ft range so I decided to give it a try. I paired it with an Arris SURFboard docsis 3.0 gigabit modem and let me tell you, my problems were solved. Once I set everything up I was delighted. The Velop comes with 3 nodes you spread out in order to obtain the described 6000 sqft coverage. I placed one in the front of the house (living room), one in the back of the house (dining room), and one in the garage. Once everything was connected and working I was finally able to get full WiFi in the game room. And I'm talking about full 100% WiFi. Best purchase I have ever made. Even though it was a bit pricey, I'm glad I spent the money to get 100% WiFi coverage in any part of my home and property.

The perfect Wi-Fi system for a 3500 sq. ft. house. The installation was extremely simple. It requires no knowledge of networking: It's exactly how software and hardware should be designed! The app is powerful and user-friendly, shows which node you are connected to, and provides an accurate speed test. The signal strength and speed are excellent.

    4 nodes and Flawless

I installed this Wifi Mesh system in December 2020. Three nodes would actually work for my house, but I did add a 4th node due to the irregular nature of the house layout. Installation is very easy - download the app to your phone, study up a little on YouTube tutorial, and away you go. The system recovers smoothly after a power outage. It has performed flawlessly. The wireless speed maxes out with what my ISP provides. So what else do you need? I have the entire house blanketed now. No dead spots. At first when reading up on the system, I had planned to install the hardwired ethernet backhaul geature. Since I'm a geek, that just seemed like a good thing to do. But I have to ask myself at this point, why bother? I'm clocking 200 Mbps. It's as reliable as it can be. So for now - I'm leaving it wireless. My initial research pointed to the Linksys Velop System - and so far, it has been a great decision. I will post should that change.

This mesh WiFi system was so easy to setup, and after more than a month, it has been super fast and reliable all over our large 2 level house! Though I have had to buy a switch to connect multiple wired ethernet devices (I have three devices near one node that do not have a wireless option) because each node only has two ports.

Big Improvement Over Old Apple Wireless Router

I’ve had this over a week now. Setup was very easy with the app, and the app has some nice features like being able to see which node devices are connected to. Previously I had an old Apple airport that was having coverage problems in my 100 year old house that is two story with a basement. It had too many dead spots and I tried an extender up stairs. That worked ok but it required a new network setup for those devices and I was having speed issues through it. Another problem I was having was coverage in the detached garage. This product solved all those problems and I have full coverage in the house and garage. Some reviewers noted the limited number of wired connections. I could see where that might be an issue but I just distributed my hubs out and it actually worked fine for me (MyQ by the bedroom node to best reach the garage, Hue and Arlo upstairs to best reach all of its devices, and one to TiVo on the base node). So far, it’s been up and running great for a week now. I definitely recommend this product.

I picked this up on sale for about half price on Black Friday. It gives consistent coverage across a 5000 sq. ft. house (one unit in basement, first, and second floors) with 5+ people and 10+ networked devices running. Installation was easy and the app is intuitive.

product has great performance and easy to install. Needs to download the App into your phone to make it work. Doing firmware updates can be frustrating as the app hangs up and the price is very high. used the Linksys - Velop Tri-Band to enhance wireless network at home. All connected from the Frontier router.

Good coverage! Easy install (we had the Geek Squad do ours), looks good. We were able to eliminate the cable "rental" for router from the cable company. This works much better and the cost recovery is short since we own the product and don't have to pay the rental fee.

I've had coverage problems in our house and this router fixed them. Great range. I contemplated a three pack but two does the job. You'd have to have a monster house/area you need covered to justify a three pack I think. Setup was simple with the app but took a bit. A couple things to note is that the router can only be administered via the app. So some options you might want access to might not be available but I just read that based on requests, Linksys is adding options to the app for release this summer. I'll up my review to 5 stars when that happens as I want a few more options myself. Also there is no USB support for having a network printer or hard drive. I fixed that by using my old Apple Extreme router to join my network wirelessly and plugged the devices I wanted on the network into it. I am very satisfied with the mesh network experience.

    Home version of Cisco Aironet

We use Cisco Aironet at our business, but I was NOT going to spend that type of money for a killer mesh network @ home. Cisco owns Linksys & after reading over 600 reviews on Linksys Mesh site, I was sold. One month into this setup at home, I’m just going to tell you, WOW!!!! Best Wi-Fi I’ve ever used in a home environment!!!! We put in six nodes (inside & outside), no coverage issues @ all. The app to monitor your network rocks. Would not recommend the main node being your primary router and/or firewall if you have a complex network. We didn’t even try since we have a few hardware devices that require static public up addresses. So if you have a complex home network, just add the main node AFTER your main router/firewall (make sure you turn off your old Wi-Fi.

Great for 5000 square foot house, strong signal up to entire 1/3 acre lot. We had a range extender, that is thing was terrible and a waste of everything. Our house once was spotty and didn’t reach all rooms. With the Velop we had no problem over thanksgiving weekend hosting 12 guests all logged into WiFi, streaming on devices and Apple TV. Worth every penny. The design is very sleek vs. the more bulbous Orbi. If you have a large house, this is worth the cost. Give you Home the internet it deserves!

    Very Usable WiFi 5 System

Purchased this WiFi router system to replace an older router that was starting to fail. Using the recommendation of the Best Buy salesperson I selected this Tri-Band WiFi 5 system. Since I am not a gamer or have a houseful of kids the 5 seemed appropriate over the more expensive 6. The Linksys App made it super easy to setup and place the two units. The app does provide a lot of capabilities but making use of them is out of my technology expertise level. I do have a couple of tech pieces (Nest Smoke Detectors) that will not connect. Something to do with the older dual band vs the new tri-band connectivity. Overall they work well and we don’t have any issues with streaming, multiple users, or online meetings. Would recommend knowing about your older devices as a part of the purchase process.

Was looking at the Disney Wi-Fi product but was guided to this product. The app was definitely the selling point, easy to control the parental controls from my phone, setting up restrictions for my kids, and turning on the guest wi-fi as needed. It was definitely more money than I was expecting to spend but my coverage has improved in my home having two spots and we haven't experienced as much lag when someone is gaming. So far it has been worth the investment.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I now have a mesh wireless solution that reaches every corner of my house and wireless speeds are incredible. I have over 20 devices that never disconnect. The setup was as easy as downloading an app and walking through a few screens. The only think i would like to see is a way to set static IP addresses for things like printers or smart home devices. This is the only reason I did not give the product 5 stars.

Works really well! I have WiFi in places I haven’t before!! However, speeds in the old dead zones are around 50 mbps and the non-dead zones are like 200 mbps. Probably just have to move them around to get the right speeds though. Really easy set up too.

I am using this system in a two-story 1600 sq ft townhome which has some fringe areas when using one traditional router. After having owned this for over a year and using it daily, I will start with the good. I currently use the system with just two nodes (one upstairs and one down) and I have them both connected to each other via ethernet. The Linksys app is very robust and allows for a lot of customization of the system on the fly. You can easily change various settings and reset all or individual nodes straight from the app. The coverage with just two nodes is more than sufficient for my home and I even receive a decent signal when walking away from my home outside. Aesthetically, these are very nice. Now the bad. I do a lot of streaming with a smart tv I have connected to my second node downstairs and experience a lot of lag when watching videos on YouTube. I have also had several devices that show connected to the node but randomly lose their internet access. Typically, this requires me to reset at least one node or the whole system in order to get the connection back. I also do a lot of streaming on a smart tv and will experience lag a lot of times which I've been able to isolate to the mesh system and not my internet modem. This occurs on a frequent basis and for practically an entire year this has required me to reset the nodes every couple of days if not every single day. This appears to be a common problem with these as I have read complaints from other user online experiencing the same issue. With exception to the frequent resets, when these work properly they work very well and the coverage is amazing; however, due to the intermittent connections I would not recommend this item.
