    Good when they work

I am using this system in a two-story 1600 sq ft townhome which has some fringe areas when using one traditional router. After having owned this for over a year and using it daily, I will start with the good. I currently use the system with just two nodes (one upstairs and one down) and I have them both connected to each other via ethernet. The Linksys app is very robust and allows for a lot of customization of the system on the fly. You can easily change various settings and reset all or individual nodes straight from the app. The coverage with just two nodes is more than sufficient for my home and I even receive a decent signal when walking away from my home outside. Aesthetically, these are very nice. Now the bad. I do a lot of streaming with a smart tv I have connected to my second node downstairs and experience a lot of lag when watching videos on YouTube. I have also had several devices that show connected to the node but randomly lose their internet access. Typically, this requires me to reset at least one node or the whole system in order to get the connection back. I also do a lot of streaming on a smart tv and will experience lag a lot of times which I've been able to isolate to the mesh system and not my internet modem. This occurs on a frequent basis and for practically an entire year this has required me to reset the nodes every couple of days if not every single day. This appears to be a common problem with these as I have read complaints from other user online experiencing the same issue. With exception to the frequent resets, when these work properly they work very well and the coverage is amazing; however, due to the intermittent connections I would not recommend this item.

I tried a couple, and their new setup was SO easy. I have 200 meg internet thru Spectrum, and with this I get over 150 meg around my house and outside on my deck. I also needed to add a 3rd node a week later to cover my basement, and that was easy to add as well.

Our house is too spacious for a single router, no matter how powerful. And given how much streaming and gaming we do, we need strong WiFi coverage throughout. Our new Velop mesh is doing the job perfectly. Set up was a breeze with the cool phone app, and the system has worked perfectly since. I’m thoroughl6 impressed.

Linksys Velop Mesh Network System Behind Gateway

Best purchase ever!. Did considerable review on Mesh Network equipment on ZD Net, Amazon Reviews, Linksys Home Page and other non OEM related sites. Using iPhone App downloaded from the Apple App Store, I experienced a 30 minute constantly visually prompted color mode indicated installation integrating 2-Node Velop Mesh System working behind a ATT Model 5268AC U-Verse Wifi Gateway.. Note: I sequentially installed two Linkedsys Velop Mesh nodes. Key: After you are completely done with the Velop install ....shut down completely all ATT and Linksys equipment, then restart the ATT Gateway WifFi & Router (FIRST) and then restart the Linksys Velop Mesh Netwoks Nodes (start them up in sequential order of your original Velop install!!) . I had researched the online "bridging mode" enablement on the Linksys Web site, but this was apparently taken care of during initial setup since the Velop initialization program asked me if my Velop Mesh Network was behind an pre-installed internet gateway. I now can see all end-point devices on each Velop individual mesh network node, their connection type and test system network downlink and uplink. This Velop System gave me tri-band coverage on all 3-floors of my home eliminating all previous low or non signal areas. Don't waste your dollars on standalone Internet Router Extenders, buy the Velop Mesh Network and communicate 100%.

Overall very pleased with Linksys Velop mesh system. Installation was pretty easy following the downloaded Linksys app instructions. However the sequence of color changes of the lights on the individual nodes used for setup could be better. Its a relatively slow process and at times you think the light is solid indicating one thing while it really still is blinking, albeit slowly. It led to a bit of confusion with setup. Customer support is excellent. Had one issue trying to integrate the Time Machine feature of my old Apple Time Capsule router into the Velop system. Surprisingly the support technician was somewhat unfamiliar with Airport Utility (surprising since Apple has chosen Linksys Velop to be in their stores). Despite the unfamiliarity she solved my issue and was very patient throughout the process. Supposed to receive a call back tomorrow helping with increasing speed of the system. If all goes well with that will increase my rating to 5 stars.

Took care of our dead spot, Gamer son very happy

Since we got the new Frontier Fios Quantum router, the speed in our house has been great, that is if you are very close to the router!!!! If you cannot see it, it cannot "see you" and you often get kicked over to the guest network. Then the speed goes down, and the line is no longer password protected. Worst of all - the gamer teenage son became most unhappy, when he did not have the correct speed for his games to be fluent. Enter the Linksys - Velop Tri-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System. After an easy set-up of just one unit, gamer son was very happily back in the forefront of his game, and the rest of the family is off course running on the new Velop network as well, and all are very satisfied, with better reception of the Wi-Fi signal. When each family member have 3-4 personal devices, and the common devices such as the TV, the BlyRay player, the home entertainment system, the printers etc all compete for spot too, having a good WI-Fi signal throughout the house is a must. We went from an SNR ratio of 18-22dB to 50dB +/- 3, so it is absolutely an improvement worth the money.

Improved our home wifi around concrete walls

This mesh wifi system is excellent. My wife and I are both now working from home and previously had just the provided wireless router from Spectrum (200 mbps) in our apartment. I then purchased a TD Link wifi extender to help get it from living room through the rest of our 2 bedroom aptmt. We live in an old building with concrete walls and the wifi was cut dramatically and then non-existent by the time it got to our 2nd bedroom. Now that I have these 3 nodes set up I'm getting the full 200 mbps throughout entire apartment and we never experience lag. This is with full streaming services for TV and simultaneous doing video conference calls each day. I know many people say they need Gig wifi speed, but we are doing just fine with these Velops and 200 mbps from our service provider at a lower monthly rate.

I have the AT&T-100 Mb plan. It is fast by itself but lacked reach to cover the second floor at my house. I purchased the Linksys 2-Pack by the recommendation of the guys at my local bestbuy and I AM GLAD I DID. This things work great. I am almost illiterate when it comes to network configuration, but these I installed in a breeze. The app is very functional. I can block the internet access to any device or control where they access--having kids this is quite amazing for me. There is only one down side after months of use, and it is that after every power surge of loss of internet for any other reason I need to go through a whole configuration process that may take up to 10 minutes. I am not a patient person and this is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Perhaps there is an easiest way to do it, but thus far that has been a little frustrating. I would still recommend it, but be aware of this whole reset-and-set-up the system every time you lose internet.

This was super easy to setup. I know very little technical info about wifi, and I had my whole place setup in 20minutes. Most of that time was diliberating where to physically place the units for aesthetic considerations. Since replacing the comcast wireless router/modem with a modem and this velop system (ie you still need a modem, in addition to this router) we have had 0 deadzones in our home. We loved it so much we added a third unit to strengthen coverage in extended/distant areas. our place is 2600 sq.ft and three units was perfect. Recommend you get all the units you need in one go, otherwise buying single unit add-ons can be costly. AND hard to find. That is to say, i would've saved $ if I bought the three pack instead of two.

I am not highly technical but I do understand that this technology is a cut-above most home Wi-Fi setups. You don't need to understand Tri-Band Mesh to appreciate the significant improvement in your coverage. The install was very easy and the step-by-step set-up on their App made it east to walk around the house while setting up and referencing my phone. My only complaint is that the charging cord is a beast and makes it a pain to plug in tight spaces.

I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to computers. I knew that my internet was too slow. I needed a router to handle all the gaming, music and video chatting we do. Home is 2,000 square feet (single story home) and one unit was enough coverage but the second unit absolutely ensured no dead spots exist in my home. Down loaded app to my tablet and followed instructions any 10 year old could understand. Product did not come with instructions. Router did all the work and I just pushed a button when prompted to. Very easy and eliminated all my connection issues. I am extremely pleased and even though a bit pricy, if you are not getting the internet service you are paying for, then you are just throwing your money away and having frustration as well. My base unit is located on one end of the house and second unit is located 60 feet away with no connectivity issues. ALSO--you can easily control ALL devices and limit access to your children's devices. You can set times and ratings for each device. I wish I had this years ago and highly recommend.

Plug and play. Nodes need to be located about 20 to 40 feet apart for optimal connectivity. Too close or too far results in slave unit dropping off network. Fast. Expensive. Excellent software GUI. Excellent support via text or phone.

Very easy to setup and grate coverage from my 2000 ft² home combined with a good cable modem. Also good if you need to be connected with eternet cable. Because each mesh have there own 2 eternet ports. The bad of the system is the price. But overall 5 star.

Our Internet speed‘s had pretty much hit a wall after adding several more smart home devices. A MacBook, two iPhones, two iPads, a smart lock, Arlo cameras, ring doorbell, and Hue lights all on the same router that was about two years old. I had not planned on spending this much, but after talking to a knowledgeable employee in the store and doing some fast googling in the aisle I decided to go for a mesh network. There are several options to pick from, but the Linksys brand had always been good to me and the fact that Velop is a true wireless mesh network (unlike the Eero I was about to buy, which is more of a hub+satellite system) sealed the deal. I could not be happier. We are getting above paid for download speed’s and full signal strength anywhere in or around the house on all devices. We may even add another node at some point in the near future, which is a big plus to the system. I could not recommend this network set up enough. It is expensive, but worth it.

Configured with the stock AT&T U-Verse Modem/Router Combo. Had do some research to make AT&T's proprietary modem/router compatible with a 3rd-party router, but after I had that figured out, setting up this Velop was a breeze. I had it unboxed, configured, and running smoothly in less than 20 minutes. Amazing signal, and the app makes managing your network seamless. Finally getting the range and download speeds I've wanted my whole life.
