I have lots of wifi dead spots. with one of the other mesh systems, 3 nodes would be needed for my space, but this one only required 2.

My experience initially started out really well. The primary, secondary and tertiary nodes all connected seamlessly and provided coverage of close to a square acre. I was pulling about 250mbps down on my 350mbps connection from Spectrum. Then, I decided to enable guest wifi access. Added the SSID name and password, then it restarted my nodes.. Well.. Only the primary and secondary came back, the third kept showing 'Offline'. I rebooted said device, hard reset and kept trying to add it back to my network. Nothing. The third device would stay lit 'purple' long enough to be detected, but then would disconnect while adding itself to the network - therefore erroring out. I decided to perform a factory reset on all three nodes and swap them out. I took the original third node (the one that wasn't connecting) and made it primary, connected it to my router and had the same problem. I swapped it again with another node and that node connected just fine - again the problematic node would not stay connected long enough to finish the setup process. I tried manual configuration, I connected an ethernet cable to said device and tried manual configuration - nothing worked. I called support and after 2 hours of going through everything I stated above one more time, I was told to take it back to the store. This normally wouldn't be a big deal - but this three pack of nodes was close to $500. Not worth it, never buying another Linksys product after this.

      Hi, ATXDev,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Configuring the Guest network shouldn't affect the connectivity to any of the nodes.

If you still have the product, please email us your contact information or case number at [email protected] so we can review the details of your case and we'll have it checked further with our Escalation Engineers. If the third node will be deemed defective, we'll help you get it replaced. Indicate the link to this review for our reference.

Three stars because the price is way too high. However, they work great and be app to control everything is very user friendly. Two of these do the trick to keep everything going. I have 60 some devices that connect and it keeps everything running quickly

Better WiFi Than I Had; Still Not Great

Since I work from home and often use WiFi calling on my iPhone I need dependable WiFi service. This Velop system improved my network performance and speed with my AT&T Uverse; however, sometimes my co-workers say my calls break up which tells me my connection still isn’t great when I use WiFi calling.

For the price, I expected it to give me fast internet speed throughout my house. For the most part it does, but my bedroom coverage is spotty, especially in the very early morning hours. Also, when setting up the device, it doesn’t connect to iPhone X. You have to use an iPad or earlier version of the iPhone.

      Hi, BillNap,

The Velop Nodes can be installed using any Apple mobile device as long as it's running on at least iOS 9.1 or later, so it should work fine with your iPhone X. As for the spotty coverage in your bedroom, it's possible that the child nodes are not properly relocated as we expected that the combination of 3 nodes should provide a flawless and full-strength Wi-Fi across your entire home up to 6,000 square feet. No worries, we'll have one of our Escalation Engineers check your network setup to ensure that your Velop System is working to its full potential.

We'll wait for your email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this post for easy reference.

The Velop is relatively easy to install and provides extended wifi throughout the house. It also provides a user interface that allows control of wifi to individual technologies (phone, computer, laptop, etc.). The downsides are the interface sometimes hangs and does not log in or allow you to use the parental controls, the nodes periodically lose their signal and need to be reset, and the system seems to randomly name the devices accessing the network, and those names are system names that are difficult to ascertain what the device is, even if the device is named - for example, instead of "my computer" the interface sees the device as WPU335678345, which makes it difficult to determine whose device and what kind of device it is.

Tried google WiFi and Orbi. Returned google WiFi due to connectivity issues and Orbi had a defective Satellite. Ended up trying Velop. No dead spots. Update firmware and had to reset Nodes a few times but once running seems to be fluid. Sometimes there is delayed latency so still working through minor issues.

Went from 65 Mbps downstairs away from my old Linksys wireless to an average of 185-220 Mbps. Well worth the money! The only drawback, it was a little involved in the setup but Linksys support walked me through it. No problem and will buy Linksys again, a great product.

Pretty disappointed. I bought the Linksys MX10 Velop AX5300. Trying to add more coverage in all corners of the house I have been told these would be compatible. Setup was a breeze, was easily able to add all three units. Problem, they all just randomly disconnect, the app shows them as disconnected, yet the blue indicator light (connected good state) shows. Have to reconnect the units on a regular basis. Absolutely terrible experience. Two stars for the ease of setup. Maybe they work better on their own but surely fail utterly with the ‘compatible’ product.

The speed is great... when it stays online. The tools are easy to use... but you seem to have to use them constantly to fix the connectivity drops. It consistently drops connection... but that may be due to my setup. I shouldn't have to reconfig the setup in such a way that essentially makes the nodes within eyesight of each other, but that seems to be the direction we are headed. I will update the product review if things improve, after a call to tech support with Linksys. In the mean time, the box is right here with the reciept, ready to go back to BB and replace it with something else.

When Apple discontinued the Airports I needed to move to something else, and the Velop was the perfect solution. It is easy to set up and with a little work and hardwired ethernet connections you can still use your Airports as (fairly weak) extenders. My wifi coverage has never been stronger throughout my house.
