Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, coverage, and setup, frequently citing its simple installation and strong signal. Many also praise the system's range and performance, reporting consistently reliable connectivity. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price. A limited number of Ethernet ports was also a recurring point of feedback.

I have been playing with this gadget for almost a week as I wanted to give it a decent amount of trial time before giving my reviews. I must say that I am a bit disappointed with Velop considering it's high price as compared to its competitors. I love its pleasant look. The functionality is very limited. It's a Dual band wi-fi system which includes 5GHzs & 2.4GHz. Apart from that, Velop has a dedicated 5 Ghz backhaul channel which helps in linking the units (or nodes) together. The primary router unit utilizes one band to send the signals to a satellite unit, and the satellite uses one of its 5GHz band only to receive that signal. Then it uses the other two bands to rebroadcast the signal to clients. If you have a small home (up to 2000 sq. ft), 1 unit will suffice. You can connect it to the ethernet wire and it will work just like a regular router but if your home is big, you can put more units to automatically extend your internet range. It will be highly useful if you have a multi story house. Velop is capable of delivering upto 400 Mbps of high internet speed. The good think about Velop is that there is no drop in internet speed. I have a 75 Mbps internet and usually get around 70-72 Mbps. After the speed tests, it was proved that we do not lose any speed. Sometime I even get more than 75 Mbps, not sure if it's because of the unit or from network itself. Setup was super easy. Took me about 10 minutes per node. However, it does not come with any instructional manual, just a card that asks you to install the linksys app, which I did and it walked me through the whole process. You will need to create an account with linksys to set up the system. The app will show all the devices that are connected to the network and you can then control them the way you want. For ex. if you want to block any phone user from opening facebook on their phone's web browser, you can simply go on to the list and then select that particular user and block that website. The person won't be able to open facebook.com anymore but he can still use the facebook mobile app. I hope they take care of this issue in their future updates. Other than that, Velop works great and does the job it says it will. The only drawback is its high price. So if you are in a tight budget, you may want to look for something else or you can get a single pack or 2 pack system of Velop.

We get much better wifi in our house now with these. After the setup, the system as been rather stable. There is not a lot configuration and flexibility in the system, but there is enough to do what I needed.

My old router wouldn't give enough strength so I got these. Got a good deal on sale for this 3 pack. Didn't think I would need all 3, but turns out, I did. They are working fine so far.

I must have received bad info. Was told this system would provide wifi into my steel building with a strong signal just outside the door. It didn't. Didn't notice much difference inside the home either. Using one main/source and two receivers. Moved locations, made no difference so i returned them. They weren't useable for my application. Maybe a different situation would be better. No issue at all from Best Buy regarding the return. Customer service itself was outstanding.

Great for extending your internet. You do need to setup a separate name and password during initial set up or your internet will conflict with your provider and go in and out. Re-setting it up is a hassle but the customer service will walk you through it.

If you’re technologically challenged like me, this is the WiFi system for you. This system creates ONE WiFi network rather than separate networks for each extender you install. That’s important. All my devices are now on the same network and can communicate.

Terrible wi-fi service throughout my one level home. Tried wi-fi extender and didn't help much. This system has provided me strong signal throughout the place and even outdoors! Worth the cost!

      Hi, GaryL,

We totally hear you as the Linksys WHW0302 should have stable connection once set up properly. Let’s make sure that we have a stable connection coming from the main network. We can also try to reboot your main network along with the Velop device for isolation. Please update us at LinksysCares@linksys.com so our Escalation Engineers can further assist you. Include your contact information and the link to this post for our reference.

I bought these last year and could not get it to play nice with my modem. I finally hooked it up to my old router and put it in bridge mode. That was fine, but I never really used it. I recently upgraded my home internet and decided to fix the Velop, after an hour of messing with it I finally got it to work. Since then I am constantly getting disconnected. I have 2 nodes downstairs and one upstairs. The nodes downstairs are in eye sight of each other. I can see one of the nodes from my desk and am constantly getting dropped. The upstairs is even worse. I had the node upstairs and moved the node to the stair well to see if that helps and still see no benefits. I called support and the only real help they said was to wonder around my house until the lights are blue. Which they are all the time and still disconnect.

We set this up in a three floor house where the wifi comes through the basement. Works well, though you need to keep the units more or less above each other, which in my case wasn't where I wanted them. No issues with connectivity.

If you can get it on Clearance pricing: Still a solid and inexpensive option for most users, especially those with less than current wireless devices.
