This is one of the best whole home wifi on the market these days, and although it could use slight improvements, it will not short yourself by buying this, especially if you can catch one of the sales. I love me some Velop!

I wanted to love this. When I initially installed the velop system in my house it worked very well. The speed was very respectable and it is a nice looking system. The problems started after one day when the child node that was the farthest away from the parent node stopped connecting with the middle node and started to connect with the parent node. I reset everything and that didn't correct the problem. I did some research and found a lot of people were having the same problem. They said to delete the last node and reinstall it. I did that and it corrected the problem for about 1/2 of a day. Later that day I encountered the same issue and went through the process to correct it. I was hoping that this was a fluke but I knew better.... Same thing happens a few hours later. Really annoying problem. I returned the velop system to best buy and purchased the Neero pro system. So far everything is going well after a full day. The speed is slightly faster with the Eero pro system but the connectivity is much better. I'm not sure what was causing the issue but I didn't want to deal with the headache of all of that. The eero pro system is $200.00 more than the velop but it is solid.

      Hi SM98,

We truly value the time you spent in sharing your product review. Having such issues with the connectivity was far from the expected. We could have isolated the setback by making sure that all nodes are equipped with the latest firmware or let an Escalation Engineer work with you on a fix. We understand and respect your decision in returning the Velop. Should you have any Linksys products in the future and need a helping hand, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at [email protected]. We're eager to help.

Our internet has been spotty, had Mediacom out several times, installed Extreme, and was still spotty. Someone suggested Linksys Velop, so I thought I’d try it. I am technically challenged, as I always need to call my kids to help with anything! I thought I’d try to install it. The directions from the box were super simple to understand, and took you step by step. I had it all installed in about 20 minutes. Works fantastic, and no more slow internet or smart tv! Very happy with this product!

When I bought this product 2 months ago, I loved it. The setup was so easy and I also love the app. My devices can seamlessly switch between nodes depending on where I am in the house. I would have given it 5 stars, but the price and now two separate calls to customer service to re-setup the communication from the nodes makes me worry that this is going to be an ongoing thing. Only time will tell, but either way, its reception and speed still knocks my socks off compared to my old router!

Our connection was spotty with a house with a router on the far end of the home. With this Mesh Router, our connection reached all corners of the house with reliable and fast internet. The setup was also a breeze with the APP and connecting any other towers is easy as well if anyone were to buy more to extend the range. Overall, This is really good for WIFI use in houses that have trouble sending signals in dead zones.

Had this for about a month now and it's been working just fine. The setup was a little annoying, but not too bad. It covers the parts of our house that our little router couldn't quite reach. I tested it by streaming on five different devices simultaneously and everything held up. There are a couple places in our house where the WiFi slows down a little, but it stays functional the whole time. A huge improvement over what we had before.

I was skeptical at first since some routers are a pain to set up but I am so happily surprised with the ease of set up of the Velos. Simply installed the app on my iPhone and followed instructions. SO SO easy. Works great. Hope it lasts.

With my router getting older and internet speeds getting faster I started down the path of trying to find a new router for my house and after doing a lot of research landed on a mesh WiFi system. This is mostly due to simplicity reasons as my house is just over 2200 square feet so coverage is not an issue with a normal router. I love the fact that there is only one network SSID for both 2.4 and 5ghz antennas. This Velop system happened to be on sale for the holidays so I decided to give it a try even though it was still $300. The setup was extremely easy with the app and I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes. I have now had it up and running for 4 days and only had a few issues in that time. The number one issue I noticed was that every device was connected to the main node, even devices that had a much closer node to it. After doing some searching on the interwebs I found a solution to unplug the main node for about 30 seconds so that devices would search for another node and connect to a closer one. This helped and I was able to get everything paired to the node closest to it. The devices that are stationary Never swapped back to the main node so that was nice. There are no settings that allow you to choose which node you want a device to connect to. This is the case for most mesh systems out there so not a knock on just this one. The next issue has to do with speed. I have Comcast 500 down and 20 up and use the netgear CM1000 modem instead of the one they lease. Hard wired direct to the modem I can get somewhere around 550mbps down and 20 up. The maximum speed I have achieved over wireless is 180mbps down and 17 up. To be honest I didn’t think this was a big issue until I decided to try another mesh system just to compare. I bought the Eero system (not the pro just the regular one that was on sale for $160 during the holidays model J010001) and hooked it up with all the same settings and placed them in the same places. The speed difference has been staggering. I have now seen speeds over the 5ghz antenna from 250 to 550mbps down. Not once has my speed dropped below 200Mbps if I am in the same room as a node. Needless to say for half the price I am going with the Eero System as it has outperformed the Velop system. I think it is extremely important to try multiple systems in your house because your layout may play better with certain systems.

My son is a gamer and has really seen a difference in download speeds. However, like the reviews I read before I made my purchase, it does drop devices from time to time. Otherwise, I would have given it five stars.

The Linksys Velop Wi-Fi is working quite well in our large home. Had issues with old wi-fi not reaching all 3 floors or getting to all the corners of the house. Set-up via the cell phone was easy to follow, but finding the right spots for the 3 nodes was a bit tricky. One unit took several attempts to connect to system, but once it finally did, everything works great. Like the extra controls, guest access, and easy to use app. Also love being able to give priority to specific devices. Great product.

This product solved our spotty WiFi issues. Our home is about 4500 sq ft over two floors. We always had issues between floors so we placed two of the nodes downstairs and one upstairs. The setup using the App was incredibly easy. After installation we have had zero issues with our WiFi using multiple devices at the same time on both floors of the house. On sale it was a bargain. We are totally satisfied and highly recommend!

Finally found out the issue with our Wi-Fi at home. Our router wasn't be enough for the whole house. Talked with an excellent sales rep who talked me through the Velop. Was an EZ set up using the app on my phone. Had the house up and running in less then 5 minutes. Tested our signal and was amazed at the difference it made. Would recommend to everyone. Even those that are not tech savvy can install it with ease. The app is very user friendly. Love that I can make a guest acct for friends/visitors to use keeping my families info secure.

Once again an amazing product from Linksys. I am ready for anything with the Velop system. I have had many different routers through the years and different houses and was never really happy with any of the results. Until now. Such an easy setup and everything you can control from is amazing. A little on the high side for price, but will make up for itself for years to come. Just simply read up on everything you can do with this system and everything it can do for you, you won’t be disappointed!!

Improved The WiFi Signal in our Small House

We had the Spectrum technician come to our 1450 sq ft home to evaluate the WiFi throughout the house because the signal wouldn’t go past the room where the modem and router were and the adjacent room. We were willing to purchase a higher quality modem and router and get them relocated to a more central area. The technician couldn’t relocate the modem because there was no phone jack in the area, and he suggested that, before we went through the expense of installing a new phone jack, we bought a mesh, to see if the signal would extend more efficiently. Soooo we went to BB, and one of the associates suggested this Linksys 3 pod mesh or the Google one, which both were within our budget. We opted for the Linksys, After setting up the pods, one was connected to the router, and we played with the locations of the other 2 to determine the best one for each. Now we have a strong signal all through the house including the swimming pool area where we never got signal before. It has worked beautifully most of the time, with a couple of exceptions where one of the pods lost signal which was an easy fix using the app. We also liked the idea that we could purchase more pods if we needed more coverage but so far 3 is enough. I noticed that if i placed the pods more than 25 feet away from each other, they lose signal. I am happy that i was able to strategically place the 3 and get a good signal all though the house.

A lot of on line research was done before choosing this product and I do not regret my choice. It is pricey but its performance has justified the spending. It is relatively easy to set up. I had watched you tube videos on un-boxing and setup before buying the product so set up took less time and zero sweat than anticipated. I have a three level home and have lots of devices that require internet access. So far I have experienced no latency in either direction. I have bought another set of three for a small home office I over see.
