This was one of the fastest wifi6 routers I founds. It was fairly easy to set up but was not as easy to adjust if you wanted to reset your system. I was unable to connect to my harmony hub which was a problem and caused me to replace with a different router. The eero 6 pro is the best I’ve found so far.

I was having issues with my ISP router frequently slowing down to 7 - 8% my rated download speed and I only have about 15 devices connected via WiFi and 2 devices connected via ethernet patch cable. I have 400 mb speed so this means my WiFi connection would drop to about 28 - 32 mb download speed. This would occur randomly throughout the day and will always happen when I'm in a middle of a video conference call which results in dropped video calls or extremely laggy videos. Bought this Linksys Velop both for its mesh and WiFi 6 technology to replace my ISP provided router and haven't been disappointed. It is plug and plug so even the non tech savvy folks can install it. Download the Linksys app and it'll guide you through the installation process. Had a hiccup trying to get the internet to connect to the Velop but after two attempts of cycling power to the modem, the link was established. The app will also inform you if the satellite nodes are not in a good location resulting in poorer connections. The app also have a built in speed test which you can use or you can use other third party website(s) to test. I've been consistently getting between 320 - 389 mb download speed and 24 - 30 mb upload via the app and third party speed tests.

Tired of Netgear??

Are you tired of netgear updates that bricks your entire system or satellites every year? Well so am I. Every year I'm shelling out 400-700 dollars on orbi systems and every year the same thing. They update it and it doesn't work anymore. I'm done with netgear. This Velop system is quite impressive. The nodes I thought will be small are very well sized with 3 ethernet ports on each. Very wide range and very fast speeds. Don't have any wifi6 products yet to test, but overall solid package all around.

Great WiFi 6 System for Whole House Coverage

Easy set up. Actually covers my whole house, a two story, for the first time ever since I have been using a WiFi system going back many years. After a month, no regrets, other than the price was higher than I was expecting, but you do get three nodes, one of which serves as the router itself, so on a per node basis, probably reasonable.

What a great upgrade! Switched out the AC2200 for these. These were much easier to set up then the older models because they use Bluetooth. Also, they have better speed, reliability, and coverage. Looking forward to using these for a few years, and can’t wait to upgrade my devices to WiFi 6 compatibility.

Expensive but performs as promised. It was easy to set up and to add the two modules to complete the mesh. For some it might be helpful to try moving the modules to different locations in your home to get the best and most consistent performance. The app is very helpful and easier to use than some WiFi products.

We had a powerful Netgear router in our small, older home but were plagued with dead spots given that certain concrete walls make it difficult for the signal to pass. However, with the Velop system (which we have now had it for about a month), I am getting lightening fast speeds at every corner of my property. And, while I get around 450 mbps when directly connected to the main hub, I find myself getting approximately 350 mbps anywhere in the house on wifi... compared to what we had, that is a very insignificant loss of speed for wifi!
I also have to say, while the app is simple and maybe doesn't have all the tools you might want, it is very easy to use and helpful for quick changes. I found the Netgear app to be horrifically slow and inconsistent, so this is another pleasant change.
I love this system and am happy I spent the money - I was considering their higher end Velop option (which is about double the price) but in speaking with someone at Linksys, they told me that this is plenty for what I needed - I really appreciated that honesty from their customer support.

These units work great. I installed them for a client with a very large business. I ended up getting a fourth but they all work flawlessly. The setup wasn't so bad and the app has improved since I first bought them.

This is the worst router I've ever had, especially for an advanced user. It's easy to set up and in fact they made the app and process very simple but that's also its downfall. It's simple, but it can take up to 10 minutes per node for unknown reasons due to the process being a black box. It's fast, but if you want advanced features and to tweak things you might be used to with other routers, it's not available. In fact some settings are only available via your browser login by clicking a link at the footer you would never think to click.
One of its features is a big downfall, its automatic connection and node direction to maintain your connection are extremely flawed. Not only will it consistently negotiate Wi-Fi4 with my system that has Wi-Fi6 unless I separate my channels by different names and manually override everything... it will also throw me to different nodes constantly if I'm in between two of them causing disruptions in my connection.
The absolute worst thing about this is that the nodes randomly drop their connection to the network and will not reconnect without physical intervention. You have to go to the node and manually unplug it, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. This almost always happens any time you change any setting on the thing but it will also just randomly happen during the week. Why does this happen? I still don't know after weeks of trying to figure it out.
I've had to remove and reconnect the nodes multiple times in just a few weeks. If I'm lucky I can go a few days without a problem. I've already done a couple of factory resets on these. I'd return them if I still could.
Firmware updates are often unstable. You can search the internet and find a number of forum posts about these things having unstable firmware updates randomly.
Lastly, they don't look bad but they are large and they have an illuminated bright LED on top which might be a problem for you depending on where you put it.
In the end I wish I had gone with something else. These are way too expensive for all their problems and limitations. The reviews at the time steered me to these but either they were on a better firmware or my units are defective because I'm having tons of problems with these.

I wanted to upgrade from Wireless AC (I had the TP-Link AC3200) to not only increase speeds but to increase coverage throughout my house and backyard. The Linksys Velop AX4200 does this and then some!
Setup: This was a breeze. You could do this via laptop but I found the app to be just as easy.
Coverage: On main gripe I had with my single router before was coverage into the backyard. This systems solves this perfectly. I had already hardwired my house with CAT6, now I was able to spread these three AP's throughout the house and have perfect coverage, even 75 feet away from my house. I also love how these AP's have additional ethernet ports on them to hardwire nearby devices.
I would highly recommend this system. Adding more AP's is super easy and the speeds have been incredible.

In typical 2020 fashion my Orbi Router died when needed most with work from home and remote learning for kids trying to get finals done. Found out the router wasn't supported any longer. Rather than buy an expensive support package pushed that same money towards this set. I did hav to upgrade my equipment from FIOS to accommodate the WiFi 6...more money... Once all was settled I am able to connect twice as many devices (about 70) throughout and around the home (4000 sq ft) with no problems and speeds regularly capping out above 600. Love that anyone satellite can be set up as the lead device so this should be very interchangeable if one goes down. Highly recommend this series.

Excellent Product. Increased our household wifi speed and range majorly. The build quality is excellent. Setup could not be easier. Use your phone and follow the on screen prompts. Only issue I have is that the linksys software is missing some key features, like device data usage logging and tracking. Basic feature of any router. Hopefully it comes in a future firmware update.

Before from our netgear wifi modem, we were only getting 20 Mbps of the 400 Mbps we were paying for. Now we blaze at 300 throughout the house and even in outbuildings a hundred feet away from the router. Sometimes delays when moving between routers, and speeds definltely slower in the outer reaches, but our family is at last functional with multiple connected devices running.

I don't know why there are any bad reviews for this product. Setup was an absolute breeze. The process was simple and straightforward. The app works great and all the information you would ever need is easily viewable. Lets talk performance, I replaced a Google Nest 3 pack system and there is no comparing the two. The Linksys performance is far beyond anything the Nest could provide. I have 1 gig service and I'm getting 700-800 mbps download from the Linksys. My nest router only gave me 300-400 mbps on a good day, I normally saw 100-200 mbps. You cannot pass up the 3 year warranty either, the Linksys Velop's main competition is the Netgear Orbi and it has only 1 year and you have only 90 days of support with it. This is the best purchase I have made for home wifi equipment.

So I have owned 3 Linksys Velop AC2200 nodes for years now. Awesome mesh system! Wanted to upgrade the parent node to, on paper, this spec beast. Honestly for the newest Velop AX4200 I'm not impressed. Setup is difficult when changing parent nodes compared to easily adding a child node. After complete sync of my mesh network, restarting network multiple times, network names and passwords exactly the same and finding optimal channels for all 3 bands...Not that impressive. Wifi signal bounces all over, have all nodes at least 3' off the floor, none covered by any structures/furniture. "WiFi 6 providing up to 4x* more WiFi capacity compared to WiFi 5" Well honestly I felt my AC mesh system was a more stable signal/network, more seamless than my current new standard Linksys AX mesh network. Hopefully some new firmware and updates will help iron this Linksys AX system out. My old 3 node, Linksys AC2200 mesh network has been amazing for at least 5 years now. 5 star rating from me. My opinion, if you're running Linksys AC mesh routers stick with them. Linksys needs to patch their AX systems.

Only been a day but absolutely love this mesh system. Switched from the Google Nest setup to this. Am in a split level home so needed something strong to cover the 2000 sq ft. First speed test was almost 700mbps. I couldn’t get up to 400 with the nest router. We don’t live stream or game in the house very often but even with 4K streaming it seemed as though google couldn’t keep up. I initially went to Best Buy for the TP link Deco but the setup was a nightmare and returned it and while at Best Buy did a quick research of Linksys mesh networks and it seemed as though it was just what I needed. Again, only been a day but very pleased.
