As I bought it from Best Buy, I expected it to serve its purpose perfectly, and it has. To add some excitement to my review, I suppose I could recount what happened to the old battery (and the camera case it was in), but reviews shouldn't make readers sob. Anyway, the new battery works and recharges most satisfactorily.

Glad my Canon battery is still available

I don't care to wonder if another brand will offer an equivalent level of battery life.
