I've really tried to make this work. As you can see from the attachment, the pen appears to capture the motion of the pen as I travel across the paper without the pen actually touching the paper. I assume the issue is that I'm not lifting the pen far enough from the paper as I travel - but it's a really unnatural motion for me to use a sharper angle bringing the pen to (and from) the paper..

Very clean system for digitizing handwritten notes. Audio record feature is stunningly helpful for historic note taking and contextualizing difficult notes. Coding and interface are very tight and foolproof. When I show this to people, they are so impressed by the freakishly futuristic tech :) Pen is big in the hand, but I was used to it within about 15 seconds. I can write for hours and don't feel fatigued or distracted. Ink cartridges don't last too very long, and when it gets low, the ink isn't as smooth. But the cartridges are not too pricy if you buy them in bulk, and they are small, so you can keep a spare in your pocket or purse. It's so nice to have an electronic copy in your phone immediately, and it is instantly email-able to coworkers or etc. Sometimes for creative writing or brainstorming, having a good old pen and paper session cannot be beat—dictation, word processing, or other digital solutions can't quite compete with the spatial richness of pen and paper, and lightscribe makes it digitally relevant too. If you need to be digital, but find yourself picking up a pen and paper often, then this is definitely for you.

The Livescribe 3 has great potential as a note taking device, but its usefulness to me is limited by the software. The Android app's syncing abilities are still limited, and it needs to have the ability to automatically send pages to Evernote that the iOS app has. The handwriting recognition is better than I would have expected with my scrawl, but would be greatly improved if the software had any learning ability.

Connects with ease and works great. Have to get used to larger size pen but translates handwriting fairly well.

Although I really like the pen; I hate that the iphone needs to be unlocked in order to record audio.When I record a meeting my iphone will lock the screen and to stop the recording I have to unlock the phone before stopping the recording. I wish there was a way it could record your meetings if you have a call on your phone. Only works when recording conversations off of phone other than the one where your app is installed.

Love this Pen! Must have for anyone taking notes. Hand writing recognition works great. Battery life last well over a couple days. Love being able to send my notes to others in no time flat!

This pen is awesome. It has truly helped me become a more organized individual. I write in the special notebook and it saves a electronic copy of my notes in which I can always find because it goes to my iPad. You cannot beat this concept.

great to hold. Very easy to sync but no desktop app. Exporting to one note is great but often it's an image inside the note instead of just exporting the text. Though that may have been the way I did it.

I had heard about this for my high school student with dyslexia, but the cost had prohibited it before. We did a college campus tour and the special population counselor highly recommended it. Went to Best Buy that day and found it for over half the price it was the first time I looked at it. After using it for the last couple weeks of my child's student year she keeps asking why she did not do it before. The only negative, okay maybe not, is that she would forget to press the pause button when the teacher would start rambling, or yelling, about unrelated things.

Pen feels a little big at first but now it is not bad, it does however write very well as expected. Data transfer works ok to fair could be a little more responsive

I recently upgraded to this version and almost everything about it is an improvement over the old Echo version. It's lighter, easier to charge, and all information is immediately available via the App on my iPad. The only issue I've had so far concerns transcribing my handwriting to text. Having to convert line by line is time consuming and this version doesn't seem to recognize my handwriting as well as the previous program, so I spend more time editing/correcting the text. I am very pleased with the Bluetooth interface and the ability to view my notes as they are being written. The recording function is also exceptional and I've had no issues with connections or incomplete recordings. Set up was also a breeze.

Great buy, I use this pen in meetings when I'm talk to my wife it's for everyday use. And everything you write down goes straight to you phone and tablet

Works well. You do have to have an iphone or ipad connected while recording. No way to record otherwise.

We have had every pen that Livescribe put out (Pulse, Echo and Sky Wifi) and the Livescribe 3 is the best yet! Not having the screen is a great feature since the screen on all the other pens died after 2 years. Also, uploading your notes to dropbox actually works via bluetooth! My only suggestion to Livescribe was to make the audio file so you could access it (mp3, wav file) and be able to transcribe with that file.

I absolutely love this pen. It came with a starter notebook and easily synced with my iPad. I use this at school and it is able to easily record my instructor making it easy for me to go back and listen to everything. If I missed something, it's recorded onto my iPad. Totally a great buy!

I use this to teach math at the college level. Its great for students to see your notes projected and then later shared online for them to use as a reference tool! I couldn't imagine teaching without it.

This was an upgrade from the entry level to the next level and does not disappoint. It pairs seamlessly with devices and provides easy how to instructions. It was a perfect enhancement for college and lectures that I want to go back an re-listen to.

A huge fan of LiveScribe and this lives up to it! It is great for teaching online and giving the student the touch of the teacher in the room.

Got this pen about a month ago,and as a bar manager, not sure how I lived without it before. No more unorganized stacks of paper, etc.

I has works seamlessly and has been a life saver for my son. Unfortunately, my Ipad2 would not work with it but it works with my son Macbook Air and Ipad.
