I've had the Lockly Vision Elite Deadbolt installed for a week now and overall I am very impressed with the product.
This is the third smart lock (and third brand) that I've installed in my home. It's by far the most complete, professional feeling product of the smart locks I have used. It also required some significant modification of my existing door (specifically the strike plate) to get the Lockly Vision Elite installed. The Lockly Vision Elite has the open/close sensor built into the strike plate and as a result it is a little thicker than the standard strike plate you've probably got on your door frame right now (if you have a standard deadbolt). I'm only moderately handy but I was able to chisel out the larger outline of the Lockly strikeplate and cut a little deeper into the frame to get it to fit. However, this is something you should keep in mind when purchasing the Lockly Vision Elite - it's not a direct swap in like some other smart deadbolts you may have heard of. That said, the strikeplate and integrated open/close sensor are one of my favorite features of the product.
As a deadbolt, the Lockly Vision Elite is fantastic. Using the app you can easily set up temporary or permanent codes for family and guests, or invite them to set up the app for themselves. The integrated fingerprint reader is fast and accurate and easy to set up, as well. The Vision Elite includes a lithium battery with an integrated USB-C port for easy charging, although with the right amount of sunlight, the integrated solar panel is designed to keep the lithium battery charged in the 50-80% range. By combining the open/close sensor into the strikeplate, there's no tricky integration with a third party sensor needed, nor is there a need for an unsightly sensor mounted on the door or frame where anyone can see it.
The key differentiator for the Lockly Vision Elite vs other smart locks is that it includes a doorbell and camera all in one device. Here is where things get a bit tougher to review. The idea of having these features all in one device definitely has merit. My first (minor) issue with the Lockly Vision is that it is going to just be weird for some guests that the doorbell is built into the deadbolt. Lockly has considered this, since they include a little metal sign that you can mount where a doorbell would normally be next to your door, directing guests to ring the doorbell on the Lockly itself. My bigger concerns are with the lag from someone ringing the doorbell to being able to open the feed in the app, the fact that sometimes the feed hangs when you try to load it, and the overall low volume of the doorbell sound itself. The quality of the camera feed is great, though, especially at night.
I'm interested to see if the speed and reliability of the app improve over time, but the other features of the Lockly Vision Elite plus the quality of the camera feed itself make this a great buy in my eyes.

Finally the Lock I was Looking For

Been meaning to write a review for some time now. I have been using Bluetooth/WiFi locks for 10+ years - and finally found a lock that has all of the features I have wanted, and then some. While I mostly use the fingerprint option, it’s nice to have the ability to also use the app, keypad code or hard key. And the camera/doorbell feature has also been useful. To my pleasant surprise, the solar charging works better than expected. I bought my first LOCKLY over a year ago for my guest house - and still have not had to change the battery or plug it in to recharge. I liked it so much that I bought another one to replace my August lock on my kitchen door - and then another one for the front door. My only complaint is that the first one was a bit difficult to install. But I am glad I reread the instructions and ultimately figured it out.

--- SETUP ---
The Lockly Vision smart lock took about 30 minutes to set up. All I needed was a phillips screwdriver and a flat head screwdriver. There’s a video app that can guide you every step of the way if you’ve never installed a deadbolt before.
--- FEATURES ---
Numeric Keypad entry, wireless installation, doorbell, camera, manual key entry with 2 keys included, fingerprint reader, voice and microphone for remote communication and remote lock/unlock.
--- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS ---
This smart lock replaced a former smart lock that didn’t have a camera. The installation took a bit longer than I expected because the video kept on making references to letters assigned to screws (for example, take 2 “F” screws) but they were mislabeled. There were no “F” screws. This happened with every letter and screw the video mentioned. However, the visual guide of the video helped me finish the installation. I’m sure an update can take care of that.
You do need to download two separate apps, one for the video guide which you will only use once during the installation, and one for managing the settings on the lock itself. The hub that communicates with the smart lock is compact, a welcoming sight compared to other smart lock hubs I’ve owned. By far, it has been the most responsive when making changes.
I was able to quickly register a fingerprint for my wife and myself in a few minutes. I was also able to create 3 unique codes that I needed, one for my wife, one for myself, and one for a cleaning crew. With every entry, I got a notification of which code was used along with a video of the person unlocking the door.
The smart lock doesn’t automatically record video as a dedicated security camera would. Instead, it only records video if someone is trying to open the door (or successfully unlocks it with a code), or if someone rings the doorbell. There is a nice plaque you can install that’s included in the box that asks visitors to please ring the doorbell. Upon ringing the doorbell, the app notifies you that someone is at your door. You can choose to unlock the door remotely or engage in communication with the person via voice.
I really am liking this smart lock. If there was a suggestion to improve this it would be to audibly say something like, “The door failed to lock, please try again.” My previous smart lock would do this and it was quick to know it wasn’t closed properly. With this one, It’s hard to tell if it locked properly or not just by sound. I always do a door check before leaving, so it’s not a big issue for me, but it would be nice to hear a confirmation.
Lastly, this uses 8 AA batteries to work. I don’t know how long the batteries will last, but that seems like a lot of batteries to have to keep buying. I will be buying 8 rechargeable batteries once the packaged ones run their course. It’s only startling because other smart locks I’ve used use rechargeable battery packs.
--- APPROVAL ---
If you want an easy-to-manage smart lock that also records who is at your door and allows you to unlock your door remotely, look no further. This Lockly deadbolt is sure to meet most, if not all, of your needs.

The Lockly Vision Elite is an upgrade from 2020’s Lockly Vision Smart Lock and Video Doorbell. But first, you should be comfortable with handling tools and following directions prior to use otherwise get a locksmith. That said installing the Lockly Vision Elite is pretty much a straightforward process.
First, everything you need for assembly is included in the box save for a pair of screwdrivers and a tape measure, Chances your your existing deadbolt already complies with standard measurements. If not, some carpentry work may be required. Lockly includes a thorough setup manual plus it also makes easier by providing video instructions for installation.
Once your deadbolt is installed, it is time to setup your smart doorbell. An app both available for both Apple and Android devices must be downloaded. Then you are required to create an account and that needs to be activated. An activation card is provided for this purpose.
Next is for you to install the included gateway which Lockly calls Vision Connect. Do note that this gateway must be connected via LAN cable to your router unlike other smart locks whose gateways connect to the internet via wi-fi.
Once the initial setup, you can assign codes up to 33 users (as far as I know) and up to 99 fingerprints (again as far as I know). The fingerprint capability is not very common in the US market as the stablished lock brands’ smart locks seldom offer this feature. The fingerprint option I must say is a neat feature since you just press your finger and no more codes to key in.
Obviously, this smart lock is battery operated. But unlike the previous model, the Lockly Vision Elite includes two (not only one) Lithium-Ion batteries wherein the USB cable and charger are also provided. A solar cover is installed in order to trickle charge the included Li-Ion battery. And if in case the battery goes dead, the Vision Elite can also opened by the included keys. And if you don’t have any keys, you can also use a 9-volt battery to “jumpstart” the Vision Elite enough for you to enter your key.
But what really sets the Vision Elite from other smart locks is the integration of a smart video doorbell which doesn’t even require a subscription The gateway or Vision Connect via micro SD card. But when the original Vision came out, the smart video doorbell did not have night vision capabilities and motion detection. Lockly knew about it and included night vision and motion capabilities. Aside from that, the Vision Elite can also record attempts to open the smart lock. And other features included in the Vision Elite are the ability to open and unlock the smart lock remotely and also provide off-line access codes temporarily to others.
The Lockly Vision Elite may be on the high side. But this is another case of you get what you pay for. And I would say the build quality and features of the Lockly Vision Elite justify its price tag. I would highly recommend this smart lock,

Well Built, Great Lock, Only a Couple Concerns

I am not new to Smart locks, I’ve used a few in the past. The Lockly Elite has so much to offer and is very heavy duty.
The first thing I will mention is that this lock set has a camera on it. Great feature but if you have a storm/screen door you will want to make sure it does not interfere with the camera view. Most full-view storm doors should be fine but if you have a security door or one with large decorations it may not work for you. Every other feature of the lock should be fine. The only other concern or issue I had was the setup. Installation was fine but the setup through the app was a little clunky for me. I am a very tech savvy person too. Once setup was done everything has been fine.
There are so many features in this lock that I haven’t had before. First, it comes with two battery packs so when the battery dies you can easily just swap it out - a fantastic feature since the ones I’ve had in the past had either replaceable (disposable) batteries or only included one with the kit. It is so much more convenient to just swap them out. This lock also has a solar panel on it to help add a little charge to the lock. One other feature I think is awesome is when you key in your code, the numbers are not all in the same location every time, 1 2 3 4, etc. This is a great security feature! This way punching in the same code will not show uneven wear on the keypad not leave fingerprints that may help someone crack your code. Of course, most times the fingerprint sensor is the best way to unlock it.
Lockly has made a very heavy duty lock here. There is a good weight to it that gives confidence that it is well built and will last long. It’s on the pricier side but I think it’s worth the money for what you get.

We've dabbled in a few home security products over the years...a video doorbell and a few different 2-way security camera systems, but this is the first time we went big with what can only be described as a "tremendously smart" smart lock for our door. In terms of features and capabilities, the Vision Elite does just about everything you could want from an app-enabled smart lock: fingerprint scanning; randomly rotating numpad display for additional code security; live IR video with night-vision, motion detection, and video recording; doorbell with 2-way audio intercom; remote operation & monitoring with push-updates on door status (open, closed, locked, unlocked); solar battery trickle charger; even digital assistant integration for voice control. Those of you running Airbnb operations will love the additional unattended entry-control features like limited-time guest-codes, eBadge issuance (for guest/temporary use the Lockly app to control the door), and one-time-entry codes, all without having to give anyone a key. You can even manage multiple properties and/or rooms within a property from the same app. With all that under the hood, this was nearly a homerun, but there were a few gotchas that you should be aware of, especially if you plan to have a lot of unattended traffic through the door.
Starting with installation--it can be a bit intimidating at first. As you can see from the unboxing photo, there are a lot of pieces and parts to the kit and not everything is necessarily a retrofit pull-out-the-old--and-slap-in-the-new affair. The deadbolt strike plate in particular is taller than standard household deadbolt plates to accommodate the magnet the lock uses to sense whether the door is open or closed. Additional spacers may also be required if the gap between the door and the frame is larger than 5mm although Lockly includes them in the package. We ended up chewing through quite a bit of wood getting the plates and assemblies installed and aligned and I nearly had to give up because a few of the necessary screw holes were VERY close to the ones occupied by the previous hardware.
Assuming you're just replacing an existing deadbolt, the deadbolt assembly itself goes in smoothly, as does the front/outside-facing portion of the lock itself. The faceplate (the part with the keypad) attaches to the door at the top of the assembly with 3M VHB mounting tape which didn't result in a completely flush fit against the door once the backplate was secured using the longer pass-through screws at the bottom; it's just physics--put more inward pressure is applied at the bottom, the lever action on the flat faceplate will pull it outward from the door near the top. I recommend using the spare 3M VHB strip included with the kit as an additional bit of adhesive to ensure the front keypad assembly sits a flush against the surface of the door as possible.
However, the electrical/signal cable that is wired to the deadbolt assembly itself is also very short and thin, as are some of the stub-out cables from the back of the lock that mounts on the inside. Trying to connect all those cables passing through the big cross bore hole without crimping them on the metal deadbolt assembly or the rotating deadbolt slot proved a bit difficult because a) there just wasn't a lot of maneuvering room once the shorter cables were connected, and b) there wasn't a lot of space to coil up the slack of the longer cables once connections were complete. However, once installed the lock itself feels secure and solid save for the fact that the manual deadbolt lever on the back, and the inside torque blade assembly (the part of the locking mechanism that twists the deadbolt lever blade), are plastic rather than metal.
Here is where things became even more problematic for us. In order for this lock to function properly, the action has to be COMPLETELY smooth and unimpeded--if there is even a hint of resistance anywhere in the mechanism or if any of its moving parts even glance against any other surface, the lock will error out and will not secure or open without manual intervention (which could obviously be a problem if you or your guests don't have a backup key). If you are extremely lucky, or have some mad woodworking, handyman, or carpentry skills, you can probably achieve this level of installation perfection, but for an average homeowner like me, I wasn't going to be able to get things dialed in perfectly without a new door frame--or at least repairing the existing frame with some wood cut-outs to accommodate new holes and screw mounts. In particular, my lock will work smoothly if I just barely close the door so that the deadbolt and strike plate are perfectly aligned; but if I close the door resolutely (as we typically do when we exit the house) so that the doorknob's own latch bolt fully engages the lower strike plate, the Lockly deadbolt will not close on its own, nor will it open later automatically if I did manage to get the door closed and secured. If you have one of those doors that you have to pull closed just a little bit more to get clearance for the deadbolt to pass into the strike plate, you will probably experience similar installation issues.
Now, you could just stop at the basic installation and manage most of the lock's functions with a phone or via keypad codes, but if you want to use the video doorbell, intercom, live monitoring, or voice control, you need to install the included Lockly Vision Connect Hub as well. This small puck-sized WiFi router gets its Internet connectivity via Ethernet only, so it must be wired directly into your main router--sadly, it will not pick up an existing WiFi signal and rebroadcast it to the door lock and back. I do not get the sense that the Vision Connect's wireless radio is very powerful as optimal range is only about 100 feet. Our door is only about 65 feet from our main home router, but it's down a hallway and around a few corners; the app tends to timeout frequently and the Lockly app's built in diagnostic ping test indicates that the uplink between the door and the gateway hub is "BAD"--I can get a decent video signal and have a near-real time audio conversation with a guest at the door, but it sometimes takes an extra few seconds for those bits to dribble into the app and resolve into an image or audio stream. If you want to use these features, you have to take placement and distance between the door and your existing router into account or you might end up being a bit disappointed.
But let's say for the sake of argument that you're luckier and more skilled than me, is all of that worth the hassle--honestly, I think it is! The companion app provides a VERY powerful and flexible interface for managing your door lock’s rather extensive array of security and access features, and the lock is advanced enough that it can function completely unattended for multiple guests/occupants without ever needing a key (so long as there are no physical impediments to the lock’s action).
As I mentioned at the top of the review, those of you with Airbnb style security needs will likely have much to love about the Lockly Vision Elite’s roster of guest-oriented and unattended entry/exit/security features. In addition to the functions already listed, you can program in a “Welcome” mode that leaves the door unlocked for specific time periods throughout the day and then later secures the deadbolt automatically. There is also an adjustable auto-lock timer (that is fully defeatable) so you can ensure that you never forget to lock your doors if you absentmindedly leave the deadbolt unlocked for the night. The video doorbell (some helpful adhesive signs are included that tell delivery drivers/guests to use the doorbell button on the lock itself) includes is reasonably loud chime that is easy to hear up to a few rooms away; but if you have a large house with multiple stories, I doubt you’ll be able to hear the doorbell. Fortunately, app integration is extensive with push notifications to your phone and even the Apple Watch that tell you when you have a visitor or if the door was locked/unlocked (even who did it if you have assigned unique codes or fingerprints to specific users). Alexa integration went off without a hitch for me…it was very cool to tell Alexa to lock the side door and have it reply “Locking, hang on…the side door is locked.”
Despite my own installation challenges and some of the finesse I'll now have to use to get the door situated just so for locking it up and use without a key or manual intervention, I still recommend the Lockly Vision Elite. If you have a new installation, are extremely lucky in plug-and-play spacing and measurements to replace an existing lock, or you simply don't fret about making minor woodworking adjustments to the door or door frame if needed, you will be rewarded for your efforts with a very capable, very flexible smart lock and video security system that virtually guarantees you’ll never need to fumble for your keys again. Know what you're getting into ahead of time--but definitely recommended.

The Video Elite Video Smart Lock is everything you need in one great looking package. Smart lock, check, finger print scanner, check, video door bell, check. The installation was very easy. In my situation, I already had a deadbolt in my front door. The install didn't require me to do anything other than swap out the locks and strike plates. Even if your door does requires a new installation, the directions on how to do that are included. Once you get everything installed, you will need to download the app in order to activate the lock. Setting up finger prints and pass codes is a fairly simple process through the app. Overall I really like this smart lock, but one feature I have been disappointed with is the video doorbell, but at no fault of the Vision Elite. This smart lock is not storm door friendly, lol. Luckily I already have a video door bell installed, otherwise I would be a bit bigger of a bummer. The on-screen pass code key pad is a very cool setup. It randomizes every time you use it to unlock your door. Another cool feature of this smart lock is that it comes with two rechargeable batteries, and what looks to be a solar charging cell built right into the Vision Elite. And if for some reason the battery does die on you, two keys are included to be able to manually unlock your door. They thought of everything. And of course it does work Alexa and Google.

Where do i start? There are so many awesome things about this Lockly Vision elite, it really gives you peace of mind either you are away from home or at home it greatly improves your security.
So i will say this.. if you are in need to secure your door this is the product you need Period. It does everything possible in 2022 in terms of features and securing your door. You don’t need to pair a different doorbell with smart lock this Has it All in One and it does a phenomenal job!
It is very easy to install … if you ever used a screw driver i’m sure you won’t have any problem doing it. It’s more to be done after that , app wise setting it up right making sure you paired it with your alexa/google voice assistant and other smart apps you might have, adding your fingerprint access and the unlock code.
I love the fact that comes with 2 rechargeable batteries so you can have one charged at all times and just swap it when in need!
The product it is very sturdy and well built it comes with all the instructions and you will be able to find tutorials in youtube as well if you need more assistance!
One IMPORTANT thing to keep in mind if you have a screen door it kind of defeats the purpose of the device as it will be blocking it’s motion detection and video capabilities. So something to consider.
Per all I’m very pleased with the device it currently replaced my old video door bell and my old lock and I’m planning on keeping it for at least few years.

My first impression of this unit when unboxing was great. Everything was in a separate package/box and just looked high end. And when you start to pull the parts out and can just feel the Quality and the weight. The exterior keypad feels like a lock box/safe compared to my other smart deadbolts. Installation is pretty straightforward and simple but they do have a very detailed video if you’re inexperienced with installing these units. At this point everything is a 10 so far. On to the functionality of the lock it self. I absolutely love the fingerprint ID to unlock. And you can store every family members fingerprint without an issue. I would buy this lock again for this feature alone. It’s just so much more convenience then putting in a six digit code when your hands are full of groceries or are carrying a kid. Has great clear video when viewing from the app. But the app and number pad is where it loses a star. First the number pad is only four buttons that have three different numbers on each one. It might as well just be 1,2,3,4. I feel this is why they have you make a six digit long code. Second every time you use the app to connect to the lock it plays a beeping sound. That is just annoying I wish I could turn it off. It was very easy to set up with both google home and Alexa. And from both an android phone and an iPhone. I love that I can set up a routine to have the door lock automatically every night at a certain time so you never have to worry about if you locked the door or not. Also the doorbell feature is so so. It’s not very loud. But all in all I love the deadbolt and video quality and would highly recommend this to my friends and family.

I bought this lock a few weeks ago and installed it right away in a matter of minutes with the easy instructions. Setting it up through the app has been a breeze and has proven particularly useful. I love being able to unlock the door with a fingerprint; it makes it so easy to do without funbling around for keys. I've had company stay over and been able to easily send them a code to unlock it for a set amount of time, as well as being able to give people like the housekeeper or my mom their own unique codes to unlock it that can be taken away if needs be without resetting everyone else's code. I highly recommend!

I’m a big fan of these smart locks and have been a Lockly user for several years now, staring with a previous generation deadbolt lock. While the older Lockly smart deadbolt I used work great for 3+ years I decided to give this one a try because of the new and improved features it offers. I’ll go over these in more depth below, some of the newer features include:
• Camera w/recording directly to memory card (no subscription fees)
• Solar Charging (This one was huge for me)
• Rechargeable batteries
• 2-way audio to communicate with people
• Sensor for deadbolt locking
The only issue I had with my previous Lockly was sometimes the fingerprint scanner would be difficult to use, especially if your finger was wet or dirty which is no surprise, but even when I thought I had a clean and dry finger, it would have trouble at times. I registered 2 fingers to help during these difficult moments and it was hit or miss.
Now to go into the new Lockly….
Install
The install was pretty easy and straightforward, especially since I was replacing one Lockly with another, but I remember installing the original was easy too and for my particular door, required no extra cutting or drilling except for the magnetic piece that attaches to the frame which is really optional, but I’d recommend it. There are a few more cables to deal with, but those were able be tucked away pretty easily. Physical installation took me about 45 minutes (includes removing the old deadbolt) and maybe about 30 minutes of software setup and adding access for users. I did a firmware update that lasted about an additional 5-7 minutes. The hub you connect to the internet is easy, basically plug and play. I didn’t even have to setup internet or Bluetooth with the devices, I’m sure since I already had the app it knew exactly what to do. The device looks very nice as well, definitely adds a quality look to my beat up door lol. They also include video installation guides to walk you through it. I didn’t use this, but it looks like a good option for those who prefer a visual walkthrough.
Usage
First thing I noticed was how quiet it is compared to my last one…and seems more powerful. I almost couldn’t hear it locking, I’m used to a louder motor running so it was a nice change. Using the app is very simple, and going through the settings I can tell Lockly has improved their options over the years. The nice thing about these smart devices is that they can be improved with over the air upgrades.
Features
Battery & Solar Panel
This one feature was big for me. I always had a slight worry about batteries dying at the worst time in my old deadbolt plus I could hear the motor getting slower as the batteries aged, but didn’t want to replace the batteries until it really needed it. I was skeptical about rechargeable batteries because those have a limited life, but they included 2 sets of rechargeable batteries which I think is amazing. They recommend keeping the batteries at 50-80% charge minimum to maintain a longer battery life. The best part, the batteries swap out super easy and are charged using a USB C cable they include. Also, no more buying batteries!
On top of the 2 batteries they include, the other incredible feature is the solar charging system. This is truly what sold me on it. Every evening the sun shines directly at my door for a good hour or longer. I’m hoping I can go a good while before charging these batteries with this feature. I have not had a chance to really test this out since I haven’t owned the lock very long, but looking forward to it. The old Lockly would last about 8-10 months on 4 AA batteries, but with the video/audio/motion detection system on this, it may drain the battery much quicker. On the downside, the manual says that the solar panel system lasts about 3-5 years. I wasn’t aware that solar panels went bad. They do offer replacements though, so I think if you can get closer to 5 years out of it, its still a win.
Camera/Video
The video gives you the option to record in 1080 HD, which looks pretty good. Sadly I haven’t figured out how to look at recorded videos yet. Either it hasn’t recorded any videos (which is strange considering I have spent a lot of time outside) or its just a well-hidden option, however when I turn the camera on I see the red dot that seems like its recording. You can see the screenshot I added to the review of my front door. There are also motion detection settings you can customize for notifications and recordings.
Doorbell
This is a nice feature for those who don’t have a doorbell, or would rather replace an older one. I also maintain a doorbell camera so this isn’t a big deal for me, but its def a nice option. You can also speak to your guests and listen to them over the app. Great for avoiding solicitors! You can customize recordings based on the doorbell and they include little metal signs to let guests know where the doorbell is at.
Magnetic sensor for the Deadbolt
When I first saw this option, I got really excited. My assumption is that it was used to prevent the deadbolt from auto-locking while open or accidentally touching the screen which locked it, while not fully closed. I was half right it seems. While there is no information that I could find that went into detail about what this does, I tested out my theories. It does appear to prevent the auto-locking timer from kicking in until the door is closed, but you can still accidentally hit the screen to have it lock while the door is open. I’m very happy about this feature, there are times when my door would be partially cracked and the older deadbolt would time out and attempt to lock, creating a jam. Hope this prevents it.
Fingerprint scanner
This fingerprint scanner appears to work very well. Its claims to be a 3D reader and picks up on fingerprints well so far. I’ll still probably create a second fingerprint for myself just to be safe. Its one of the better features of a smart deadbolt….not having to fumble with keys, especially at night. I look forward to facial recognition and voice commands to open the door one day, until then I’m very happy with this improved system.
Other benefits and features
For those who are new to smart locks, it’s a must have IMO. Lockly in particular has proven itself to me and I think it’s a great company. Some of the better features of a smart lock that Lockly includes:
- Guest access – You can provide one-time codes, codes that expire, or codes to “Trusted” members of your household. You have full control of who can come in and out, and have all the access logged. You can even provide access remotely
- Unlock the door with the app or using voice through Google or Alexa smart devices
- No service fees and they encourage you to call customer service if you have any issues
- Ability to upgrade and improve or add features using app and firmware updates
- Emergency option to use a 9-volt battery if you don’t have a physical key and your deadbolt battery is completely dead
The downsides
I feel like a sales person for Lockly in this review, but really I’m speaking honestly about them. I really enjoy their smart Deadbolt products, especially this one. I had so many friends impressed with my older model too. There are a few nit picky things, but nothing major. Most of these will probably be fixed at some point through updates. They are:
- Video recording access… No clue where to find them or if its recorded any videos yet. Storage shows mostly empty so might need some videos for the option to pop up, but it should have recorded me a few times already
- Barely an explanation of settings. Some have a little description but several I have no idea what they mean and don’t see them in the manual. Plus a description should always be in the app.
- Solar panel and rechargeable batteries will need to be replaced at some point, hopefully not for a few years
If you’re on the fence, its def worth giving it a try. Much better than changing locks when you lose a key or need to provide temporary access to your home for a sitter or family member and having to make extra keys.

I originally bought this to get away from a Subscription model that other products require. It is sleek looking, has multiple methods of obtaining access, (physical key, thumb prints, keypad, bluetooth, remote unlock via app, etc) combined with solar trickle charge, 1080p recording along with nightvision, motion detection this seemed like a no brainer! Yes it's expensive, but its both a deterrent in the first line of defense, and functionally/mechanically seems to be great.
However, not all is great with this lock. First, being a smart lock this doesn't work with Google Hub like other smart locks do - yes, it will work with 'hey google' commands, but lacks video support. It works with Alexa, but I'm unsure of video support with that ecosystem.
The app is slow - if you have a visitor, it will alert you, which is great - but when you go to see who it is, it takes a while to pull up the video feed. One might say, this depends on your internet connection...sure, this would likely play a role - but I have fiber 1Gbps up and down. The app settings for this lock differs from that of my other lockly product which seems weird to me...for example, this doesn't give you a percentage of battery life like the other locks do (I own the Flex Touch as well).
Something that absolutely blows my mind that the app seems to do...say you are at home and you don't want to answer the door, maybe you told a lie and said you were gone, or maybe someone strange is at your door or an angry person...the app will notify you that you have a visitor, so you go to the app on your phone, open up the camera view and if by chance you are playing music on your phone, watching a movie, or listening to a podcast the audio from your phone will play over the speaker in the lock!! Giving away your lie, or safety! This is a big problem in my opinion.
Some features only work 3 times a month - like air transferring fingerprints- a limit I did not know existed until it stopped working and had to create a support ticket. If you want to use this functionality you will need to, you guessed it, subscribe to a premium plan.
I've also had some issues with notifications - and lack of options for turning them off - which drains the battery fast.
I have written the developers and have voiced my opinion and concerns, along with several other improvements for the app.
All in all it seems to be ok, and given the price point I would expect to see improvements and updates quicker and more consistency within the app.

I had been riding the fence about changing out my “analog” deadbolt for a smart lock. In fact, I had ordered and received a Nest deadbolt prior to the COVID-19 shutdown. Never installed it. I had also been considering a smart doorbell but couldn’t decide on a brand. I had seen Lockly years ago at a home improvement store. FFW to Feb 2024, I’m finally ending a 15yr toxic relationship with a married man and need to make sure his key to my place no longer works for my personal safety. Time to change the deadbolt. No harm in documenting here…just in case…I’ve watched plenty of For My Man & Fatal Attraction episodes. That’s not the point. The point is I Googled Lockly and I liked the look and functions of it. Smart lock with traditional keys, check. Smart doorbell, check. Camera with 2-way audio, check. Backup battery, check. The built-in solar panel is an added bonus. Buying it as a My Best Buy member provided discounted pricing. I installed it the same night. The camera resolution is beyond good. I can now lock/unlock my door using the Lockly app, the keypad & the physical keys. I haven’t been successful with the fingerprint access setup yet but I’m sure that is due to user error. Knowing that the camera automatically begins recording when it detects motion outside my door and alerts me is providing a sense of security I hadn’t considered. Overall, I am very pleased with my decision.

I've been using this lock now for a couple years, It works great. The battery life is excellent. The camera is not the best and motion capture has something to be desired, but gets the job done. As a lock, it works really well and I love the fingerprint scanner.
The only issue I have, and it may have been my own installation, it doesn't recognize if the door is open or close, even when my door is wide open, it things it's closed. there is a chance that I messed up a wire when installing.
Also, I love that there's a solar panel, though, my doorway is basically in a cave, so it probably does very little

Our first purchase of this item went badly. The solar panel fell off due to manufacturer's poor quality. The Lockly company provided a replacement for the backside ONLY, but then we had 2 weeks of going in circles with their tech support because with front and back from different units the dang thing could not connect, hardly a surprise. After much insistence they finally sent us a full new unit. Thankfully the new unit is working even better. I never got the fingerprint working well (took like 5 tries to get in) on the old unit, but with the newer the fingerprint is also working. Connection is now great and solar panel intact. My family likes the unit, I just wish the tech support had been better in replacing from the start.

The best lock I have pitched thus far. The camera is awesome. The multiple ways to securely enter into my home. Extremely easy to install. I did it by myself in less than 10 mins. Love all the features at no extra cost. Therefore the lock pays for itself.

I love this keypad. I have 4 in total and they keep getting better. The first one I bought still needs a bunch of batteries. Newer models have solar and usb charging. I can operate all from my phone and open doors even when I’m out of state. Only reason it’s 4 stars is it should open with just a code, but guests have to hit a button after entering code and are often confused by this, Lockly support has been helpful when I’ve run into problems. The units are not easy to install, but work well once installed.

This is the best purchase I have ever made. I don’t have to worry about anyone figuring out my code. I have easy access by just my finger tip and love that there’s a camera and especially the solar panel that allows me not to have to worry about recharging it.

I used schlage smart lock before, now I decided to use lockly vision and I am very satisfied, it is easy to install and has more options to open, key, fingerprints, code, and control with Alexa, it also has a night vision camera and you can chat with The visitor, lock connects to the Wi-Fi through a hub that is included in the package
