I've had mine a year and now it's having problems connecting to my wifi rendering it almost useless. The Lockly customer/technical service is really bad. You can't call them and the chat option is an hour long waste of time that doesn't fix anything. I will never buy another Lockly product.

The vision elite part does not work the main reason I purchased this item was to see who was at my door where ever I was. The most important part of the lock doesn’t work and all they want to do is send me a cord. Even the installer said the part was faulty.

One star because there is no zero. Just hope you’re not in the rain when you try to unlock this ridiculous lock. So non-user friendly, it is breathtaking. Still using codes instead of intuitiveness. It looks great but that’s it. If it weren’t so expensive I would replace it. Now I just use a key.

Our Lockly Vision Elite comes with multiple options of how to unlock it to help our customers in all circumstances. You could unlock your Vision Elite via your access code on the display as well as using the fingerprint scanner or your phone with the Lockly app, not to mention the physical key of course. We're sorry to hear that you've had some difficulty in the rain, and we do recommend installing our locks in a location that has some protection such as an awning. We also offer a sun visor which can additionally offer some coverage from the rain.

There are not a lot of all in one choices (lock, camera, and remote service). A bit clunky on the install since it uses a separate media server that you plug into your network to playback any video. So far it’s been pretty reliable.

    Smartlock with some cool tech

This is my first experience using a smartlock on my own house and the installation process took a bit longer than I was anticipating because I had to make modifications to my door and door frame to accommodate the larger deadbolt brackets. The Vision Elite features a pretty nifty auto-lock function which upon my first install attempt the lock kept failing because the deadbolt and bracket weren’t perfectly lined up so more modification and trials were needed, but eventually I had everything running smoothly. I appreciate all of the options to unlock the door. You get two manual keys, the option for multiple pass code sign-ins, and the super convenient fingerprint sensor. Setting up my whole family’s fingerprints took only a few minutes with the Lockly app and now any time someone unlocks the door with it, I get a notification with the name of the person who unlocked the door. Battery life has been pretty stellar so far, despite receiving two batteries, the first one keeps getting recharged with the solar panel lock cover, which is one of my favorite features. If you needed to you could recharge them with a usb cable. I love that there is a built in door bell, and it notifies you on the app when someone rings it. l Camera quality is a bit dodgy however. Live view is great and communication through it is solid, but some recordings have been glitchy or just will not load. And that leads me to my real issue here and that’s with the Lockly app itself. Navigating it is not the easiest and settings don’t have descriptions of what they are. For example, if you want to change the Motion Detection settings, you first have to click on the Settings gear icon, then the Smart Alert tab, and then the Motion Detection tab, when it is so much easier to just be on the main settings page. And speaking of Motion Detection, one of my biggest complaints is if I’m able to set a notification for Motion Detection at 0 seconds, why am I not able to record the movement until 10 seconds of motion have been detected? If someone leaves or takes a package from my doorstep it doesn’t record anything unless they’ve been in frame long enough. I had an issue with my lock beeping whenever i used the app and when I opened the door, but after talking with Lockly Tech Support they were able to inform me which settings to turn off (Audio and Vision Connect Audio toggles). Overall I think the Vision Elite is a good smartlock but the app could use some work.

Lockly Vision Elite pros: rich feature set - A smart lock for the technology age, the Vision Elite is a well thought out solution. It includes several ways to securely unlock: * pin code with randomly revolving sets of numbers (which makes guessing a pin code essentially impossible by position) * "offline" access codes (which you can manage from the app) granting temporary access. Perfect for things like air bnb, contractors, guests, etc. * 2 physical keys, just in case every other method fails (power outage, battery drained, 9v backup battery unavailable, etc.) * eBadge - send someone digital access via the Lockly mobile app. * fingerprint scanning - My personal favorite, and especially useful for families. No one in my family carries a physical key anymore. We all use the biometric fingerprint scanner to unlock the door. From the manual, it appears to be quite secure and difficult to fake, but is also quite convenient. robust construction and design - The deadbolt itself feels sturdy and of high quality, and physically is well designed. software - The mobile app is intuitive and well thought out. Controlling the features, adding/removing codes, viewing the logs, all very easy to do with the Lockly app. autolock - Also configurable, you never have to worry about locking your door again with the autolock feature. Enable, disable, and set the time to lock in the mobile app. 2 rechargeable batteries included - Instead of having to purchase and swap out batteries, the Vision Elite comes with 2 rechargeable batteries and a USB C cable/charger. Very nice touch! solar trickle charging - While I have been able to test this feature directly, there is a small solar panel on the front (covering the physical lock) that is intended to keep the battery charged. Very cool feature, if it actually does work! logs locks and unlocks - The app logs who locked or unlocked the door, based off of code, fingerprint, or manually from the inside. doorbell type camera with night vision and motion detection - While not quite as capable or fully featured as a dedicated doorbell camera, still a potentially better view of those at the door. 9 volt battery backup terminal - If the battery dies and you don't have a physical key, there is an 9v battery terminal where you can connect an external battery to temporarily power up the lock and gain access. cons: no apple homekit integration - For those who are entrenched into the Apple ecosystem, this would've been a nice inclusion. at times the screen is a bit "finicky" - In my initial setup I did have a little trouble getting the screen to show up, to be able to enter my code. I have not seen this issue since. misc: setup can look overwhelming at first - With the included instructions, templates, and what seems like an over abundance of parts and wires, the installation may seem daunting at first. It's actually quite simple, especially so if the dimensions of the door and holes are within spec, which mine were. If they aren't, there are included templates to aid with an admittedly more complex situation, but even so there are guides and videos to help. needs base station (included) to communicate via wifi - Similar to things like Phillips Hue or Lutron smart switches, a base station is needed (included) to communicate with the lock over wifi. overall: Overall I really like this lock. Aside from a few nit picky cons, it is a very strong contender in my opinion. I'd say it's just shy of 5 stars, but in light of this rating system I'll round up. 5 stars, highly recommended.

The deadbolt sticking could be caused by a few different reasons, however, it is usually related to the installation process or the "self-check" process that needs to be done when you first set up your lock. Lockly uses standard Schlage deadbolts that you would find on any "non-smart" lock as well.

Having the Lockly Vision Elite Deadbolt has been a wonderful addition to my home. This is my second Lockly product I have, the first being the door handle version that I have had for a couple years now and I love it, so I was very excited to be able to install this deadbolt edition on another door! To start, this thing can be a handful to set up. It has a great user guide and install guide, but there is so much that this lock can do that I was getting a bit overwhelmed and had to ask for some help getting it all set up. That's just me, not anything negative about the product. It's a lock, it's a camera, it's a 2 way intercom, it's a doorbell, and it's very smart. It allows temporary guest access, fingerprint access, pin access, key access, wireless app access, and is essentially the fort knox of home door locks in the way of levels of security access. It fits in standard deadbolt configurations with doors but will not work with the lockly door handles, just standard door knobs. All of the lock features are powered by an internal lithium battery which gets charged by a small solar panel on the bottom of the lock pad. Unfortunately for me, my door lock is on my door that sits under an overhang so it does not see a lot of direct sunlight. It does charge somewhat, but when accessing the camera, it drains the battery enough that the solar panel is not enough to keep up with charging it. There is a usb plug in for charging the battery on the door lock, so I will be finding out a way to run a permanent charging cord to the lock. I do think that if it was exposed to more sunlight it would be able to keep up with maintaining the battery level. There is a base station that you will need to keep plugged in to the wall and modem so the wifi camera and doorbell functions can work and you can access the lock from wifi on the app. It does come with an ethernet cable so just have to plug it in close proximity to the modem or router and probably keep it in a decently close range from the lock itself. The app setup and function access is pretty smooth and easy to use. You can change the passcodes or add temporary access for guests, unlock or lock the door right from the app, or access and use one of the other features like the camera, or the 2 way intercom. The camera works pretty good but not always the clearest quality depending on lighting or weather, but definitely a 1080p stream. You can set and adjust motion alerts, and the night time IR video is ok. I recommend keeping your doorway area well lit. The sensor functions and the touchscreen pad on the lock work great, and have not had any issues getting the fingerprint reader to respond after programming in several different access users. The locks reaction to wifi locking is a couple seconds slow due to the nature of sending the commands through the internet but it is definitely satisfactory. If I were to suggest one upgrade, it would be adding a small video screen to the inside part of the lock to serve as a peep hole while you are home at the lock, instead of having to go through the app all the time. This lock is packed with so many features and functionality, it almost seems like overkill compared to a standard deadbolt, but once you start using it, you will wonder how you ever went with out it. It is definitely something worth adding to the home security arsenal. I would definitely recommend.

This is a great lock. When opening the box it is definitely a little intimidating. This is the second smart lock I have owned and this lock came with a lot of pieces compared to the other lock. However once you open up the instructions it all makes a lot of sense and it is really easy to install, instructions weren't super clear in some areas, but overall it was very easy to install. It came with templates to install in a new door and frame. I however installed mine where my existing deadbolt was located. Once the dead bolt was installed it was time to install the hot spot for the dead bolt (This was why it received four stars). I had to find a spot on my switch to plug in this hot spot and had to create a spot on my power strip for the power adapter. Once it was installed the batteries had to charge (I should have done this when I first received the lock but I didn't). After the batteries were charged I downloaded the app and followed the on screen instructions. Once it was set up (It didn't take a ton of time) I was able to create passcodes for family members and I was able to incorporate finger prints for easy opening. Connecting the device to Amazon Echo was a breeze. It's actually on a routine to where when we go to bed at night it will automatically lock the door. Overall I highly recommend this lock, The only true down side is the hotspot that it requires for video.

This lock has far exceeded my expectations! We had a keypad lock we enjoyed prior to getting the LOCKLY Vision. Now after installing and using the LOCKLY, our old keypad lock seems like a dinosaur! The LOCKLY installation using the app was by far the easiest “can’t mess this up” instructions I have ever used. They are very clear, precise, and you can even zoom in and rotate the parts and also select a part to get more info on its identity and functionality. It took me a little over a half hour to install but that was due to taking out the old deadbolt keypad before installing the LOCKLY. I also felt like I went slower because it was that easy to install, I felt I was missing something! The packaging and presentation is nice, the Instructions and user manual are a nice supplement also. Once the lock is installed, the programming portion of installation follows. Setting up the hub on our WiFi, programming the code, fingerprints, and settings were a breeze. I played with the thing for an hour with all the amazing features within the software. The camera and two way talk is a great feature. I can see this being the go-to lock for rental properties and vacation homes. The options to send temporary codes For visitors, ability to lock and unlock from wherever you are in the world, peace of mind, the options seem endless for what a lock is capable of! Oh and it is a doorbell too! The volume carries throughout most of the house and you also get a notification! So you tap the notification and automatically are on live video and voice with the visitor. The only thing I am curious about is if the video would record and store on the hub microSD from motion, and not just when the doorbell is pushed or keypad tampered with. This may be an option in setting that I just haven’t found yet. Anyhow, the LOCKLY Vision is a must have for every household, great for households with children knowing when they arrive home safely, rental properties, businesses. I highly recommend this outstanding product!

What can I say about this little gem, it is a great lock. This video smart lock exceeded my expectations. First of all the color is nice, matte black matches anything. When I went to go install this lock, I was surprised at the ease of putting it on. I comes with adhesive on the back of the lock which makes it easy for one person to install vs having someone hold it while you are trying to assemble it. One of the cool features with this lock is the fact that it has fingerprint identification to open the door. The camera on the lock is quite clear and you can easily make out who is at your door and have a two way conversation with whoever is standing there so you can not have to rush to the door to answer it or better yet, see who is there before you open it, this is a nice safety feature. This camera comes with instructions you can download, it comes with an extra battery pack for back up just in case you don’t have extra batteries on hand. I like the fact that you can have the app on your phone to open it and it comes with two keys. I would definitely recommend this product.

    Wi-Fi Deadbolt with camera

I always wanted a Wi-Fi deadbolt and thought this would be great one. Unfortunately this did not turn out to be as good as I had hoped. The first challenge was installing it. I am pretty handy and didn't expect it to be as much work as it was. My previous deadbolt did not have all the wood cut out of the door to allow an easy swap of my old deadbolt to the new Lockly Vision Elite deadbolt. So my first challenge was to get out the chisel and cut out some more wood to make it fit. Once I got the wood all chiseled out to make it fit, I was able to start physically installing this new deadbolt. The instructions are a little confusing, so I thought I would just use the 2D code and watch the video. Well that didn't work so well either as the video is for a slightly different model. So that made things a bit confusing. There is a sensor built in to detect if the door is open or closed. The one in the video has a completely separate sensor that needs to be mounted to the door. Between the video and the written instructions, I did finally manage to get it installed. If you are not pretty handy, I would not attempt to install this deadbolt. I would suggest hiring someone. The next challenge was getting the app to work and get it connected to my Wi-Fi. I had to locate another port on my ethernet switch. It does need to be hooked up to your router or an ethernet switch. Once installed, it was still not working properly. I had to redo a step so it would learn which direction is open and which is closed. Once I got that set it seemed to be working ok. When opening up the app, it can take quite a while to get connected and to see a picture. I checked a few times and sometimes it would open up in 5 seconds and sometimes as long as close to 30 seconds from the time someone pushes the button until I got an alert on my iPhone. I have a storm door with a wide edge on it, so it blocks the view in front of my house, so keep in mind that if you have a storm door that blocks the deadbolt, you won't see anything unless the door is open. It has a solar panel to keep the battery charged. I'll be curious to see if it will keep the battery charged as the sun might shine on it for a small part of the day as my door does face south. Mine came preset to autolock after 5 seconds. I went for a walk and noticed that the door locked behind me. I figured out how to turn that off pretty quickly. I like that you can use a code or fingerprint to unlock it. It can be programmed for over 30 different codes, so everyone can have their own code and you can tell who is coming and going through the front door. One can give a neighbor a code and then deactivate it whenever you want. I like the Wi-Fi part of the deadbolt, the doorbell isn't all that great and the install was a bit challenging. Based on all the above, I can't give it more than 3 stars.

I don't own this version yet; however, I have used one of the early models without the doorbell/video feature for 3 years. I am going to buy this one now since I sold the home with it and moved. The numbers mixing themselves up everytime you key in a number for your code is what has me sold. The old one did not like my fingerprint, but I am hoping that will be better this time since it will be on the other side of the door and easier for me to access. Anyway, I have not seen another security lock that I would buy.
