Great connectivity / sound could use some comfort

These headphones have all the basic needs checked: Great sound, flexible connectivity, clear vocals, reliable console / machine transmission. It’s a good pair if you can live with lack of full comfort.
HARDWARE and DESIGN
The headphones straight out of the box look decent, looks-wise. It is not exceptional but it works. It is what is expected of gaming headphones and the quality is good which is not surprising for Logitech. The plastic is nice, matte finish, and scratch resistant. It actually is a little flexible which is good. I can twist and turn the form and it automatically goes back to shape without hearing any creaks, or causing any deformity. It helps especially when I need to cup out an ear to listen every time someone wants to interrupt my precious gaming hours. It comes with a detachable mic. While other headphones tuck the mics in the cups, this one keeps it detachable—maybe it helps with the headphones being light.
The connectivity options are exceptional. I can connect my console and PC at the same time, then switch using the small hub. The hub is easily recognizable by connections without the need for any additional software, like auto recognition of Dolby Atmos Spatial sound compatibility and activation. I can also connect using Bluetooth, but the hub helps lessen my Bluetooth traffic at home so I rely on the hub, especially that I can easily switch sources. There are multiple combination switches to activate a source but at any given time I forget what direction the switch setting is supposed to be, there are quick instructions at the bottom. It is a little difficult though to read because the font is quite small. What is good is it can even be wired directly by USB. The options are indeed very flexible.
The buttons and switches have good clicks and feedback. Even the sound prompt when the headphones are turned on, for example. I would say it is pretty well built in terms of the components put together in these headphones.
PERFORMANCE
The sound is decent. It is not exceptional but it is good. The sound is wide with all levels represented well, especially the bass. It responds well to my personal settings, if it has to be vocal focused with my EQ preferences or cinematic dynamics for game cutscenes.
Battery life is pretty good but I have not used it in a marathon over 4 days for me to see how much longer it will last.
What I don’t like is the fit of the headphones ---it’s pretty loose. I know headphones when they are snug—they can be hot. These headphones hang a little lower from my ears even at the shortest setting, something I do not usually experience with other headphones. The cups are not snug but they are not moving around. The foam in the cups keep it in place but I feel like it is lightly placed on my ear. Surprisingly, even if they are not pressing on my ears (which is good since I wear glasses), the sound remains intact and crisp.
Also, it is hot though. The feel of the foam for me is not comfortable and I have to be on high AC this summer to be able to wear these headphones for a long time. As we know, gaming machines do throw out excessive heat, but the least I would want is have comfort from my headset.
These headphones performance is good if you can live with so-so fit and comfort. The value is great given the connectivity options and the sturdy build. It will be great for light everyday use.

For those that have a computer and a gaming console in the same location that you switch between, this is a pretty sweet set up. It says it supports the Nintendo switch but I don’t really see the point of that as the Nintendo switch is for on the go and this dongle is not meant for on the go to me and the only time we plug the switch in to the docking station is when we are playing Mario kart as a family and headphones don’t fit in that scenario, however this has support for the Nintendo switch.
I had to try a little bit different set up, I plugged the PC onto side 2 on USB and the Mac into side 1 on Mac/PC and both worked perfectly. Then I switched to the PC on one side one and the Xbox on side 2 with the switches in the right places and both worked perfectly. The ability to switch between two devices without unplugging dongle from one is awesome, the final set up was between my work PC and my gaming PC. Not using it totally how described but the mic is extremely clear which is amazing for gaming and work so why not use a gaming headset for work. Also, the red light at the mic end is really nice for knowing when I am on and off mute.
When one device is off it will automatically switch to the other input, which is really nice, it will not do this for Bluetooth, the Bluetooth button will switch between Bluetooth and lightspeed but it is manual, and not instantaneous. So, if you have a phone call come in on your phone, it will not switch over to it. I hate it when headsets try to guess which source you want as they aren’t good at it so this is a better way to do it in my mind. The only better way is to allow Bluetooth and wireless to play at the same time.
For gaming the sound is really awesome and perfectly in sync. They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time and completely cover my slightly over large ears and are deep enough to not compress my ears.
Pros:
Power switch versus button
Volume scroll
Red light at end of mic when mute is on
Easy to find mute button
Removable Mic
Game/Chat balance control rocker button
USB C charging
Long battery life
Wireless dongle allows 2 inputs to be wired
Cons:
Bluetooth cannot be used at the same time as wireless
Wireless ‘dongle’ is large

The Solution for Good Sound with Extra Connectivit

The Logitech G Astro A20 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset for PS5, Xbox, Switch, PC with 2-system PLAYSYNC Audio, and Bluetooth is all about connectivity. The headphones are light and comfortable. The sound is strong, full, and clear - probably on par with the A20 (though I’ve not used that version). However, this should not be seen as just an A20 with expanded connectivity as the A20 mic flips up to mute, whereas the A20 X has an attachable flexible mic with an easy-to-use mute button on the left earphone.
The special offering of the A20 X is the ability to connect to, and switch between, 3 different audio sources. For many setups, this is a wonderfully welcome feature. It accomplishes this through its PLAYSYNC audio transmitter. The PLAYSYNC allows you to connect audio from 2 devices simultaneously: Left: Xbox or USB, Right: PC or USB. The third source comes via Bluetooth. Buttons on the headset allow you to select the option you want. Cool.
I connected the A20 X to my gaming laptop, Xbox, and Apple TV - which were all using my main TV screen. It took some practice and trial-and-error in order to get the feel of how to best switch between sources. But, once I got the hang of it, I found it very convenient. And the sound was great for every usage!
The only feature I’d like to see in the future would be the addition of Active Noise Cancelling.
If, like many of us, you need excellent headphones with extra connectivity, the Logitech G Astro A20 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset is for you.
Thank you for sharing your candid thoughts; this input is valuable as we work to enhance the Astro A20X headset and its overall user experience.

Easily switch between 2 devices. Audio is okay

Pro:
-Easily switch between two USB devices
-Lightweight
-Voice quality is clear
Con:
-No simultaneous bluetooth connection
-Ear piece fabric texture feels rough and can get warm
The A20 X itself is a lightweight, comfortable, no-frills headset. Its all plastic body is semi flexible but the durability of the split band may be a concern and could likely be the easiest part to break. The slightly adjustable fabric suspension band keeps the pressure off and makes the headset comfortable to wear. The foam around the ear pieces is soft but the fabric is a bit rough. It feels more breathable than the plastic leather type and still comfortable, but the texture could be finer. The ear pieces can pivot slightly and can only be adjusted up and done about half and inch. I do like that the lighting is more than just a logo. It adds a cool cyberpunk effect to the earpieces.
The controls are easy to identify by touch. The volume wheel is notched and tactile and in a good position. The mute button has an audio sound and corresponds with the lighting on the mic. The device switch button is on the right and not too easily pressed to avoid accidental presses.
The new feature with the A20 X is the ability to connect and switch between two USB devices. It has a wireless hub with two wired USB inputs and can switch with a press of a button on the headset. It works with Xbox, PS5, Switch (1 and 2), and the PC. It can also connect with bluetooth, however, it can’t connect to USB and bluetooth simultaneously. As someone who constantly switches between the PC and a console, this is way more convenient. It does add more wire clutter, but worth it if I don’t have to keep moving the USB dongle everytime.
Sound quality is overall fine. It’s not the most immersive sound headset as it’s lacking in the lows and could use a boost in the bass. In gaming, dialogue is clear and you can hear the environmental sounds, but explosions and booms are quieter and not as satisfying.
Mic quality is clear, but a bit quiet. People in calls said it sounded fine but when I did some test recordings, it was the low side.
Thanks for your feedback! We’re glad you like the Astro A20X Headset, and we appreciate your input to help us get even better. We are always looking for ways to improve, and your comments will be taken into consideration for future product development.

I picked up the Logitech G Astro A20 X Wireless Gaming Headset headset for my son, and he has been putting it through is paces. Right away he said how easy it was to set up, literally plug it in and you are ready to go. No messing around with complimcated instructions or extra software.
Comfort is a big deal since he games for long stretches, and he mentioned more than once that it feels lightweight and doesn't press down on his head like others he has had in the past. His last headset broke and he had to wear headband to keep it up against his ears - so this is so nice for his to have a new headset that is lighter and doesn't feel light it will break like the last one. The sound is crisp and clear, which makes a big difference when he is playing competive games.
One of his favorite features is the detachable microphone. He likes being able to pop it off when he just wants to listen to music or watch a football game without feeling like he has extra hardware in his way.
Overall, is seems like a solid, well-made headset that balances performance with comfort. Based on his feedback, I'd say it's definitly worth considering if you are looking for something reliable, wireless, amd easy to use for gaming.

The Astro A20X is a lightweight gaming headset from Logitech, a well-known name in computer accessories. It features an adjustable soft cloth in the headband, making it very comfortable. The ear cups are made of soft fabric that allows your ears to breathe instead of feeling like they're trapped inside a plastic/vinyl cave.
The controls are easy to maneuver and the ear cups are even marked "L" and "R" so there's no confusion. The microphone is flexible rubber and is easily inserted/removed making it great as headphones or a headset.
It's compatible with XBox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices. Connecting to an IPhone was as easy as pairing any Bluetooth device!
To use with XBox, PlayStation/Nintendo, or PC, simply plug the adapter into your device using the included USB-C to USB cord, tag the headset, then pair to the adapter. It can also be connected to PC via Bluetooth.
The sound is great and the left/right separation is good. The bass/treble mix sounds good as well. I didn't see a way to mute the microphone but the sound is clear when using, and the mic can be removed easily if not needed.
There is a QR code on the inside of the box lid but apparently that functionality hasn't been activated yet so not sure what additional features might be available.
Overall, a great gaming headset that doubles as a great-sounding set of headphones.

Cool Gaming Headset with RGB for all our consoles!

We are a household that loves to game. From our Switch, to our PS5, to our Xbox Series X, to our PC gaming desktops & laptops, and even to our mobile devices, everyone in my household is a gamer of some sort. I remember my sons asking me for their first Astro gaming headset about 14 or so years ago. I remember being blown away with how great they sounded in games, and they felt like pro gamers when they wore them. I am happy to say that I still felt that nostalgia popping up when I put them on!
Unboxing & First Impressions
The design felt familiar due to my having used that Astro headset I bought years ago, which was many years before Logitech bought Astro. So it appears that Logitech hasn't changed the formula that has worked, at least not to my eyes (or ears). That is a good thing because while I've had many Logitech headsets previously the Astro brand (and now line) has always felt a little bit unique vs. the other Logitech headsets. I felt the same way with this headset when wearing it & gaming with it.

Gaming
The Astro A20 X sound great in games. From the crystal clear microphone, to the sounds of gunfire in CS2, to the action in WWE 2K25 and AEW Fight Forever, to the roar of the crowd & the action on the field in Madden 26, everything sounded clear, crisp, and immersive. Being able to switch from one console to the next with the push of a button isn't something that I did too often, because I am a PC gamer mainly with some Switch playing randomly thrown in, but I did use it a few times to switch back and forth. I feel like this feature would be something that is more inline with what both of my sons seem to love being able to do: switch between different consoles/devices with the click of a button. It is a neat feature but isn't a make or break feature for me. Being able to turn down the chat volume while turning up the game volume allowed me to tune out some annoying members of my party in online games. I think it is a superb feature.

Music, Movies & TV (and work video meetings too!)
Any time I get a headset I want it to be an all-around great one. I am past the point where I am OK with a headset being strictly for gaming, while another is for Music, then another for Movies & TV. So the Astro A20 X is more than serviceable for me as an all around headset for all of my needs. I even wore it during some work meetings to get an idea of how well it would perform, which it did perfectly fine for my work meetings as well. It is definitely a decent all-around headset but gaming is really where what it is geared towards.
Rating: 5/5
Wearability (Fatigue?)
With any earbuds or headsets I have to find that I do not experience any ear, head, neck, etc. fatigue because if I do I will just simply refuse to use them due to me having no tolerance for it as I've gotten older. With this headset I experienced none whatsoever. No neck pain, no feeling like my head is being squeezed, no feeling like the headset is flattening out my ears, nothing like any of that at all.
Rating: 5/5
Conclusion
In closing the Astro A20 X is a more than capable headset for all of my gaming needs, irregardless of whether that is console or PC gaming. It made me feel nostalgic and reminisce to when my sons were pre-teens and both wanted Astro A40s & we bought them for them. It was a trip down memory lane with a more than capable gaming headset, especially at a price point of less than $200.
Thanks for the enthusiastic review! It’s fantastic to hear the Astro A20 X has held up so well over time with stellar battery life, reliable connectivity, and impressive audio performance. Your experience across both PS5 and PC really highlights its versatility. Sounds like a headset that’s earned its place in your setup!

Now talk about an interesting issue to have. I was excited to try these out. I love listening to music while I work on the computer and can appreciate a good set of headphones while gaming. So, imagine my absolute shock when I tried these on my phone first.
Connected the Bluetooth to my phone and was expecting a very pleasant session with Alicia Keys mixed with some Amy Winehouse. What a disappointment that was. I thought maybe my ears were clogged and I had an infection or something in my ears. Nope, tried two android and one iPhone and got the same result. Flat music and when I fired up a movie same thing. Even tweaked my eq settings thinking they were setup for my buds so that might be why the sound is suspiciously off. Nope. Not the reason.
Was not impressed at all. So, I said maybe it will surprise me when I connect them to a PC or my Xbox. So glad I did. It was a night and day difference. They sounded like a totally different set of headphones. Fidelity was excellent with everything. Heard things in games that I never heard before. I owe a friend a rematch now that I can actually hear them sneaking up on me in game.
These are pretty comfortable for big heads. I actually didn't notice them after a few hours on my head. Only thing that would have been very useful is better instructions included with the unit and links to software that didn't 404. Now if there was a away to turn of the RGB to extend the battery life of these headphones.

Great Sound, Great Comfort

Out of the box, the EQ settings for this headset are excellent. Highs are crisp and distinct, and you can make out even faint sounds against a loud soundtrack or in-game background noise. Mids are full and rounded out, but don't squeeze out the other sounds in the mix. Bass is audible and thudding, and you can practically feel it. Simply great sound after initial setup with minimal hassle.
The headset is also surprisingly comfortable. When you pick it up at first, you'll think there's no way this isn't going to irritate you after an extended session, but the cushioning and grip make this headset supremely comfortable to use over long periods of time. You don't have to worry about these slipping over time, either - they're engineered to remain snug and they do so.
Microphone volume and pickup were excellent as well. Everyone could hear me clearly, even over crowded channels, and I was amazingly clear. No distortion or ambient noise came through - just me.
If you're balking at the price, don't worry - this is a solidly built headset with fantastic sound reproduction that's worth every penny. The performance truly justifies the price.
There are other settings available (like different EQ configurations) on the device, but I didn't feel the need to switch and you probably won't either; the defaults are simply that good.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback on Astro A20X! We’re thrilled to know it’s meeting your expectations. Your support means a lot to us.

The Logitech A20x are definitely a middle of the road headset capable of good quality sound and mic reproduction. However they have many faults that need to be addressed by the company that is what caused me to rate them only 3 stars. First and foremost is the lack of support. As of the time of this writing, the company still has not made a landing page for the product QR code located within the product packaging designated for setup. so if there is a way to change the lighting on the sides of the headset as advertised, Logitech hasn't given the consumer any access to it at the time. The other main concern with the product is the fat that it boasts dual connectivity and fast switching. This is really only possible in two scenarios: one of the products is bluetooth, or if the products you're switching between are relatively close proximity due to the receiver needing to be wired. (in my case my Xbox and PS5 are in different rooms causing me to have to detach the receiver anyway, which defeats the purpose!) All in all it's not a bad headset but it's certainly not the best one I've ever owned and I don't really know if I'd recommend it considering all the others on the market right now.
We appreciate your honest feedback. It helps us identify where we can improve and provide a better experience with the Astro A20 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset.
