The Logitech Brio 500 Webcam is a fantastic product that is quick to setup and use. Out of the box, you have the tubular-shaped webcam and the fold-out mount that is meant to sit on top of a monitor. The mount has a suction side that grips the back of the monitor to maintain position. The webcam attaches into a circular, magnetic area on top of the mount, and the magnetic pull is strong enough to keep the webcam very snug. The area where the webcam mounts also folds out so that the user can make the camera tilt straight down to see something on the user's desk like an actual drawing or object. The webcam connects via a USB C cable that is about 2.5 feet long. There is a privacy screen that is controlled via rotationg a dial on the right end of the webcam. I had the mount setup and the webcam attached in about 2 minutes. I had my Windows settings so that Cameras were off, so I went into the settings and turned in on. You may not have to do that. It was instantly recoginized and I could see a sample. I then went into Zoom and I didn't need to adjust anything. The image is fantastic and there are 2 mics that made my voice volume and clarity perfect. So within 5 minutes of opening the box, it was configured and working beautifully: plug and play. This 4 megapixel webcam can produce images at 720p@60 FPS or at 1080p@30 FPS. It works with Windows, macOS, or Chrome OS. It is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Works with Chromebook. There is free software from Logitech that can be downloaded if you'd like to optimize general settings to your liking called LogiTune, and it is easy to use. Overall, I really like the Logitech Brio 500 Webcam because it is quick to install, easy to utilize with almost any product, and produces crystal clear results both with audio and visual. I wish other products were this quick and easy to use.

    Absolutely Best Webcam

To put it in simple terms, this webcam is awesome. You have to download the logi tune software to experience all the features it has to offer. Inside the logi tune app, you can adjust field of view, zoom, display such as brightness, saturation, and make color corrections. You can also apply filters if that's what's needed. I left everything at default settings because it already looked very clear. The coolest thing about this webcam is that it has the ability to keep you in focus and keeps you in frame even when you move around. You can adjust the speed that it follows you if needed. This feature is just awesome. I moved 10 feet away and it zoomed into me and kept my face in frame. I moved to the left, to the right, stood on a stool, and got very low and every time it kept me in the frame. When I moved 10 feet away I was sitting in a chair and my dogs were playing directly in front of me but the camera kept only me in the frame and the dogs never appeared. Even the audio at 10 feet was good. Not great but good. The audio at normal range is great. If you want the best audio you must get a mic but you can pass with the mic on this webcam. It's clear and loud. There is also a feature called show mode where you can tilt the camera down facing towards the desk so you can show documents or write needs for everyone in the meeting to see and it works so well. I had my wife read a letter back to me that I had placed on the desk and she had no issues. The one thing I tested that the camera doesn't do well at is staying focused when moving fast. This may be something that has to be changed in the settings but it would lag when I would do quick movements or dance around. I don't fault that because it's not meant for that but it's something to note. Overall, this webcam is the best I've ever used and it'll be hard to top.

The logitech, Brio, 500 is by far the best WebCam I have owned. For years we have used logitech WebCams first with WebEx, and most recently primarily with Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The image quality and automatic adjustments to light and color are the best I have seen. WebCams are quite important in business as they will make some individuals poorly present themselves during important meetings. This camera seems to quickly adjust and require little changes in back lighting and front lining to get good normal appearing skin tones and a clear picture. The microphones also work very well and these are quite important also in meetings, especially if there is more than one person on your side or you are a competing with background noise. The amount is excellent and well thought of. No matter how well design the mount having something sitting on top of your monitor or laptop screen is often quite awkward. The system provides for an attachment cradle which allows the actual WebCam to be placed and rotated as needed for the function of showing your desktop or a graph, or perhaps a printed paper more quickly then taking over the zoom meeting to share your screen. The WebCam was instantly recognized by my already installed G hub software, which I use for gaming mice. And essential feature in my opinion is a physical camera barrier for privacy. Please keep in mind that this unit requires a USB-C interface on the computer you’re using it with. Several even newer computers may only have one of these ports. If it is technically possible, it would’ve been useful for a logitech to include a USB a adapter.

    Brio is Back Bro!

Webcams haven’t advanced much in the last few years, so I was glad to see Logitech release a new Brio with updated specs. The Brio 500 promises 1080p/30fps and 720p/60fps with enhanced video and picture quality. So, let’s review this webcam! The Logitech Brio 500 is a good webcam, but not great. The omission of a USB-C to USB-A adapter is sad, but I understand that more PCs and laptops are coming with USB-C ports. The privacy cover is intuitive and easy to use, the mount is secure and the camera is compatible with a tripod if you prefer that setup. Logitech software is a little resource-heavy but works as expected to provide you with the options you’ll need for streaming and meetings. The Brio 500 performs decently in low light but shines when the lighting is good and when the camera is set to 720p/60fps. The 1080p setting is a little clearer, but after streaming at 60fps, going back to 30fps is very difficult. The smoothness that 60fps brings to your stream is great and I’m glad both options are included, unlike some of Logitech’s other cameras. Most people will be happy with the build quality and overall video quality of the Brio 500 for the price paid. This camera should be enough for any entry-level streaming and more than adequate for business purposes with its wide-angle lens and being able to tilt the camera down to show people your desk and what you’re working on. Logitech software adds the ability to customize just about any color settings, be aware that the performance and color suffer when this camera is in a low-light environment. Logitech tries to correct this with its RightLight 4 technology, but the frame rate seems to suffer when compensating for the low light. If you’re looking for an affordable and decent-performing webcam for everyday streaming or business meetings, then the Brio 500 will fit the bill. If you’re a semi-pro or a professional streamer, you’ll want to spend a little more and look elsewhere for better visual quality and performance.

The Brio 500 by Logitech is the perfect option for remote collaboration. Video quality is outstanding and easily outshines the competition. Setup was extremely simple. Plug in to an open USB-C port and you're done. No additional software required. Now if you wish to fully utilize the camera's advanced features you will need to install Logitech's Logi Tune software. My favorite feature of this camera is the automatic framing capability. When enabled you are no longer constrained to the center of your monitor. You can freely move about your space, whether standing or sitting, the auto-framing feature ensures you remain perfectly centered within the frame. The ultra-wide field of view is perfect for including multiple (guests) in the conversation and the Show mode is great for presenting/sharing items in your workspace. Simply tilt the camera and it automatically rotates the image. Perfect for sharing sketches or other objects on your desktop. Pros: Excellent video quality Simple setup Simple and intuitive app Customizable Video enhancements Automatic Framing Ultra-Wide field of view Includes removable monitor mount Cons: None All in all this webcam is perfect for remote employees or anyone wishing to improve their visual presence in online meetings.

Logitech keeps making better and better peripherals - though they do take some mis-steps with software (more on that in a minute). I've been a fan of their peripherals for my computers for well over 20 years and this is easily the best webcam from Logitech I've ever used - and possibly from any company. This webcam is pretty much ready to use out of the box (provided you have a computer with a USB-C port, as that's how it connects - you can get a USB-C to USB-A converter and it will work fine (I've tried that too) but you have to buy it separately. Once connected, the camera can be used with any normal software - built in camera functions, Zoom/Webex/Teams/etc. - or you can install the Logitech software for it to fiddle with options/advanced features. I found it worked well and produced a good picture right out of the box. It was especially impressive at how it deals with low light and backlit subjects - my desk is near a window and I'm often dim/backlit on other cameras, even high end ones, but this one compensated automatically which is wonderful. Clarity and overall picture is good with a crisp and clear video feed. The built in privacy screen is a nice value add and better than the little cheap flip up covers. The microphone is good and picks up clear sound though it's nothing super special or out of the ordinary. The only qualm I have about this otherwise wonderful device is that Logitech has added yet ANOTHER software package (Logitech Tune) to configure the camera. Couldn't you just have added it to Logitech Options? I already have that for my other peripherals - fewer software packages is better... While it's not the cheapest webcam on the market, it's also FAR from the most expensive you can get (even from Logitech) and the feature set here really does justify the price. To that end, I can highly recommend this webcam - particularly if you're working from home or otherwise need to spend A LOT of time on a camera and looking your best. Keep at it Logitech (but can you streamline the software a bit!)

I have been looking for a better webcam with 1080p resolution for office video calls. Logitech - Brio 500 Webcam is an excellent choice. It came with Brio 500 with an attached USB-C Cable, Mount Clip with a removable mount adapter, and user documentation. Setup is relatively easy and connected with a desktop PC. It is a plug and plays and no driver is needed to work. I have downloaded Logi Tune desktop software to utilize the full potential of this webcam. This webcam supports 1080p HD with a 90-degree field of view. It has a privacy cover which is a really nice feature. I have tried the video quality without any adjustments and out of the box, the quality was outstanding. I have used this webcam for many Zoom / MS teams calls and everyone was saying the video quality is very good. It has an integrated microphone and works really well. It is a perfect webcam for high-quality video calls. Auto Light Correction with RightLight 4 technology, video lighting technology automatically adjusts to the lighting based on the environment. Auto-Framing with RightSight technology centers the video camera and allows it to stand and move during meetings without leaving the frame. Show Mode is another nice feature to present the work on the objects on the desk by tilting the camera up and down in one hand. Dual Noise Reduction Microphones work great and filter out background sound during calls. It is a great webcam with lot of features and works great during office / personal calls.

This review is on a Logitech Brio 500 Webcam. This is my first external webcam other than the ones that are built into my laptops. Webcam is not as large as it looked in the picture thankfully. I also got another surprise with the built in microphone. I am a Xbox gamer and was needing something to use with the Xbox Game Chat so that was a nice addition. From the pictures that I saw I thought the product was a solid black. Upon opening my first thought was wow that's a lot of spots but after removing all the wrapping found that it was graphite. Looks cool up close and can't notice it when sitting back in my chair. Comes with a mount to the top of your monitor. The webcam has a magnet on the bottom that will swivel inside the mount. The mount has many angle options with a sticky pad that doesn't leave anything on your monitor. You can tilt this webcam down so that everyone can see what is on your desk. Nice feature but you will have to get out of your chair to do this as it doesn't hold well to the mount when tilting. Also has a light to let you know camera is in use and an easy dial to close the camera lens so you can be sure no one see's you. All you have to do is plug it into a USB-C port and that's it. Started up Microsoft Teams and nothing to set or configure. It just works. It is just a 4MP camera so the picture is not that great to me. Not very detailed but colors are great and motion looks good. Specs are 1080p/30fps and 720p/60fps. The picture is wide angle so you can see a lot of what's behind you.

The Brio 500 comes in a nice small box that is easily recyclable. I generally don’t mention product packaging, but I’m seeing an effort to be eco conscious and will be mentioning it along with my reviews. I’ve used the Brio 500 for a few meetings and appointments. I found that with Windows 11, that this Webcam is pretty much plug and play, but it does have software that you can download from Logitech’s website. I found many of the controls integrated into the Camera settings in Windows 11. Including the ability to adjust the resolution of the camera for both still pictures and live video. This camera is capable of HD resolutions up to 30FPS, with lower resolutions available at higher video framerates. I found that with very little lighting, the Brio fulling adjusted the picture settings without having to tinker with the camera settings to brighten the image, while still keeping color and skin tones appearing natural. I found that ignoring the directions and not permanently attaching the Brio 500 to my desktop monitor allowed me to use it on other computers I have. However, I find that the mount Logitech has used with this Webcam has been one of the most ingenious mounting “brackets” that I have seen. I can stably mount it to my desktop monitor or with a slight adjustment, mount it on my laptop (even though it has a webcam already). I had no complaints regarding picture quality, smoothness, or audio problems at all. I’ve owned several Logitech Webcams over the years, and while this may not be the highest end model that they make, it works well and smoothly for my needs.

Smart Framing and Full HD webcam

In the "post covid" whatever times we live in, everyone has to endure some level of virtual call/meeting/space, and webcams are now catching up with how we use them in 2022. The Brio is a nice combination of those features and some thoughtful additions. While you DO have to install the logitech software for some of the more advanced things to work like smart framing, logitech is no stranger to this game, and their apps work well and don't seem to be too much of a resource hog on my computer. The newest style mounting points accommodate better fits on more monitor styles, and especially the minimal bezels that are being used now, and is more secure. The inclusion of a privacy cover feels more "standard" and integrated into this web cam. The added feature of being able to tilt down and show your desktop/sketches/something on the desk in front of the webcam is also an appreciated thoughtful feature. The gray speckled plastic used in the Brio is reported to be recycled, which I appreciate, but I think the white specs are them going out of their way to make sure we know it... when it just looks out of place. Switching to a USB-C plug is just one more way that Logitech has updated the Brio to be current for 2022. This webcam is working well for me, the software was easy to install and use, and the added features are worth the cost of upgrading.

The camera is good but the integral cable is USB 2.0 not USB 3.0, which is annoying because I can only use 1080p/30 FPS instead of the advertised 1080/60. The device supports it but the cable does not and the cable is not removable.

It's surely not what we expect to deliver. Verify that the network or video conferencing service is not the cause of the video quality issues. You can test by using a video application such as the Windows 10 Camera Application and check the video quality locally. Also, make sure that the video is streaming through your BRIO 500 camera and not another camera such as your laptop camera or another attached camera.
