Here is a link to the setup guide for the Crayon https://www.logitech.com/assets/65523/5/logitech-crayon.pdf Be sure that his iPad is an iPad Pro 11 inch or iPad Pro 12.9" 3rd generation or later as the Crayon won't work on the older models. Good but limited to 6th gen ipads

The size, feel and rectangular shape is both functional and aesthetically pleasing to use in the hand and fingers. The inclusion of tilt sensitivity but lack of pressure sensitivity makes the crayon less functional for consumers desiring greater creative control. For the layperson it is a great price point, ease of use, comfort and battery life. But in the end the Apple Pencil has longer battery life, more functionality and more device can be used by the Apple Pencil. Not sure why Logitech limited use to 6th generation iPads only and excluded IPad pros.

If it is within that time frame and still not working, you may have received a defective unit, which can sometimes happen. Solid Apple Pencil Alternative, High Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used the Apple pencil for quite some time now, I can honestly say there is a lot to like about the Logitech Crayon. First of all, the shape. I can’t tell you how many times I have set the Apple pencil down and watched it roll right off my desk. The Logitech Crayon’s shape is like a carpenter’s pencil where it lays flat and does not roll. It also feels much more durable that it’s apple counterpart. I love the fact that the cap is tethered to the pencil meaning it won’t get lost. Also, it can be charged with a standard lighting cable instead of hanging it off the Ipad’s charging port or using an adapter. The Logitech Crayon does lack pressure sensitivity which, for me personally, does not matter. But if you are using it for artistic purposes, may impact your decision to use it. I use the pencil mainly for notes, so no issues. Also, the battery does not last as long as the apple pencil, so if you are using it quite a bit without access to a charging cable, may cause you some problems. My feeling is any tool you might use for business should at least last an entire work day without having to charge it. However, you can turn off the Logitech Crayon when it is not being used and that helps mitigate the shorter charge time. If you won any iPad other than a 6th Generation, the Logitech Crayon will not work. I am not sure why it was designed this way, but perhaps a firmware update in the future will change this. I would like to be able to use this with my iPad Pro as well someday. Overall, this is an excellent Apple Pencil alternative.

Posted .Hello Ed. I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with the Crayon Digital Pencil. The Crayon has an 8 hour battery, so it should last an entire day at the office. When it is not in use, you should turn off the Crayon to preserve battery life, but it will turn off automatically after 30 minutes of being idle if you forget.
