Aside from the common connection issues with GHub, the shifter performed as advertised. The shifter is a bit clunky, which is authentic for driving tractor/trailers in ATS, but not so authentic when racing supercars. The gate is also ambiguous. I had ordered an aftermarket gate attachment to bolt atop the screws holding the boot in place that would provide physical and visual identification of gear selection. Upon returning the G923 and shifter, I cancelled that order. I have ordered a Thrustmaster T300RS and TH8A.

Racing with a manual is much different than driving with one. On that note, I feel this could be a good item to help a non manual driver learn to drive manual.

Although its not quite like the real thing, it may be a useful tool for someone learning how to drive a manual transmission. Nothing beats learning with a real car, but this may help. Driving a manual transmission can be fun and this add on somewhat simulates that. I've used it with Project Cars 2 and a little bit with Gran Turismo 7 and it works fine.

It feels more hands-on with most games, but it’s not a must have as there are paddle shifters on the steering wheel. With that all being said I’d still buy the shifter just for the more hands-on experience and it’s the cheapest alternative in the sim racing market.

I’m just used to a real shifter that is a bit firmer while this game shifter is very loose. It’s very easy to shift thru the gears without hardly any resistance or spring back to center. This just takes time to get used to. Overall, I love it much better than using the paddle shifters since it mirrors a real car and I can shift easier while turning the wheel.
