Very nice mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mouse as my old MS Sidewinder was around 5 or 6 years old now and I wanted something with a few more programmable buttons. The sensor is very accurate and more than fast enough if you feel the need to really ratchet up the dpi. It's a good size for my claw grip. I like the adjustable weights, though I wish that the weight cover would snap into place rather than be held in place with a magnet, but so far there haven't been any problems. I was sent the Spectrum model, and has color changing capabilities but is otherwise identical to the Core model. It does compliment my G510s keyboard nicely. The only minor quibble I have is that the mouse wheel has friction and frictionless mode.. When it's on the frictionless mode, the mouse wheel is comically easy to turn, even gravity will move it. When it's on friction mode, it's actually harder to move than a typical scroll wheel. I wish there was a middle-ground setting. Also the button used to change the modes feels a bit flimsy, but there have been no problems thus far with it. Overall there's a lot to like here. The mouse is fast, accurate, and the software is easy to use and allows for plenty of customization.

Love the feel, not the light
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really do love this mouse. It is precise, feels good in the hand, and looks super sharp. I like how the scroll wheel is nice, heavy, and metallic. The best part of the wheel is the ability to switch between click scroll and free scroll. Makes scrolling long pages quick and easy. I really like the ability to add and remove weights to the mouse to customize the weight of it. Just one more way to make the mouse feel ever more solid. The precision of this mouse is top notch. It has DPI switching that can be fully customized. I use the mouse for Photoshop work as well as FPS gaming. It has excelled at both. My only qualm is that the onboard lighting cannot be changed from blue. It would be perfect if the lighting could be changed to a different color. Minor issue though in an otherwise amazing mouse.

Love this gaming mouse!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this mouse! I finally broke down and purchased it after reading reviews and keeping my eye on it for a while and am so glad I did! For me personally I am partial to Logitech peripherals, just because the designs seem to fit my needs the best, and this is no exceptions. I also like that I only need one software for the matching G910 Logitech keyboard I have as well. The reason I like it the most is because of all the mice I tried it seemed to fit my hand the best. I also liked the scroll wheel features, the several different profiles you can use, and the fact that it as has basically 5 extra buttons you can use, but is not overwhelming like one of the ones with the full Num Pad on it. Personally I use it mostly for first and third person shooters (Battlefield 1 and Ghost Recon Wildlands.) I use it mostly to adjust my DPI on the fly, as well as to crouch or go prone with my right thumb. (Much easier for me than keyboard and can use them almost instantaneous.) I also love the fact that this one is all black but with RGB lighting so I can match my gaming rig colors.

Best mouse I've used
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.History: I started using gaming mice in 2010 with a Razer Naga for playing World of Warcraft. I got a Razer Orochi for use on-the-go. The Naga broke, and was replaced with a G600. I stopped playing MMOs and that wasn't working well for other games, so I bought this G502 a few months ago, and recently a G700s for work, which I have tried for games too. The G502 is the best balance of comfort, extra buttons, quality, and reliability I have seen. The buttons always work, the sensor matches my movements the way I want it to. Multiple profiles work wonderfully. The Logitech Gaming software does it's job. The cable is nice braided nylon, or some other fabric, that helps it be a bit more flexible and not tangle as easily as normal rubber. The included weights are a nice touch to get it just the way you want it. The only con this mouse really has relates to the scrolling. The top middle button toggles between smooth scrolling and notched. This notched scrolling is a bit rough and loud, while smooth scrolling has so little resistance you can trigger it just by moving the mouse quickly. But it is easy enough to switch between the two that it isn't too big of an issue in an otherwise amazing mouse.

I love this mouse!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased a few different mice as I was unsure of what would be the best out of my options. Thanks to the Best Buy amazing return policy as an Elite Plus member, I had plenty of time to test things out. This was the mouse that I ended up keeping. Some of the other mice were too light, to small, or just didn't feel right in my hand. This mouse was different. It's almost as if they created it just for me. My hand perfectly wraps around it and my fingers fit perfectly. It has just enough extra buttons and they are actually comfortable to access, unlike some of the other mice out there. You can also adjust the weight of this mouse. I definitely recommend it. Pros: Great fit Great weight Accurate Looks good Cons: The plastic on the side sometimes get's sticky. I always use my tech with clean hands. Maybe it is from sweat. It is annoying but not annoying enough to knock it down a full star. My actual review would be 4.5 stars if I could.

Great FPS gaming mouse, meh software
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mouse (Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum) is a very good mouse for FPS gamers out there, especially those with voice comms. It's a bit on the bulky side, but fits in the hand well enough to not matter. I play a game called Squad, which has and requires 3 layers of voice chat (Local, squad, and team). I bound them to three of the thumb buttons and everything is fine. Much faster than stretching to reach the V, B, and G keys. I bound the two index finger buttons to map and map zoom, and that takes care of driving. I'll have to say that side scroll (it's a 4-way wheel) isn't useful to me, but the free scroll is a wonderful feature for long web pages. Press a button and it disengages the ratchet, and the wheel can fly on inertia for 20+ pages of text. I've never used the weights. The software sucks. Logitech has no sense of urgency to update their gaming mouse application for high-DPI screens, so if you're on 4k you'll need to use Windows Creators Update shenanigans to make the app legible on your screen. Other than that, great mouse all around.

Incredible Comfort, Precision, and Customization
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly the best mouse I've ever held. Something I hadn't even considered before buying this mouse was that the movable weights actually allow you not just to change the overall weight of the mouse, but adjust its center of gravity, depending on whether you put them on the front, sides, or back. The led lighting is beautiful and changes based on which of the three profiles you're using. Each of those is completely customizable and saves to the mouse itself. This is extremely useful if you, like me, switch between a desktop and laptop often, especially for gaming. Something you might not realize before purchasing is that there's a thumb button that shifts what all the other extra buttons do when you hold it, effectively doubling the number of extra functions you can do with the mouse. If you don't like that, however, this button can be reprogrammed like any other. I literally have nothing bad to say about it, and I'm not one to overlook flaws. I simply can't find any in this mouse.

Great gaming mouse. Awesome for gaming fps/rpg al
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Software is greatb it allows for all buttons to be customized. Even the scroll wheel can be clicked left or right and can be assigned key strokes or what ever. The only downside is the left mouse button ( you know the one you use to shoot) doesnt always register my turbo wall builds in fornite, requiring a double click(still pretty good though) Customer service for logitech has a long hold time.... 30 minutes +, but when some one answered, they replaced my mouse with a refurbished identical mouse when it stopped being so responsive. The refurb is less responsive than my original g502 but logitech let me keep it so I switched back. I am going to contact logitech and have a brand new g502 shipped out. Logitech is an amazing company and this mouse is amazing. On the fly dpi is cool but i actually assigned those buttons to different keystrokes for precision weapon choices. Great buy for the price. Allows for you to be highly competetive. Get this mouse.

Great gaming mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mouse is amazing! There are lots of customizable buttons, it can recognize lots of games, and the DPI sensitivity is incredible. I used to turn my mouse sensitivity all the way up for gaming. Can't do that with this mouse! This one goes up to 12000 DPI, which is insane. My old mouse (Logitech G5) had 3 preset DPI settings that I could easily switch through, but this one has 5 fully customizable DPI settings. I also love the weights. They allow me to customize the feel of the mouse to just the right level for me. Oh, and can't forget the mouse wheel! You can unlock the wheel to move freely, which is great for scrolling through inventory quickly.

Best Gaming Mouse Since the G5
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My beloved G5 was recently taken out of commission by a chew-happy kitten, and I was disappointed with the more up to date Logitech and Razer mice until this line came out. I miss the G5's smooth surface, but the Proteus Core has all of the features I loved. Adjustable weighting is key for long gaming sessions, and the precision and responsiveness keep me up to speed in Starcraft 2.

G502 for More Than Just Gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I primarily bought this mouse because of the thumb rest. I know, a lot of money for a little piece of plastic. I work from home and do a lot of different tasks - scrolling through documents, software development, schematic creation - a couple things about this mouse have made this somewhat easier: 1) Selecting different DPI resolutions has been awesome. When you need to make the slightest mouse pointer movement, it's handy to pick a less-sensitive setting, and you can do it on the fly. 2) Scroll wheel swapping from the "clicky" type on most mice to a free-spin mode makes quickly scrolling through 200 page documents much easier. I don't care much for the lighting, so I consider that neither a pro nor con. The worst thing I could say about this is the fidgety button in front of the thumb rest. I click that all the time on accident. However, with the included configuration software, I just disabled the button from actually doing anything. Clever.

Logitech makes great peripherals
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had one of these before switching to a Razer mamba for the cool lighting effects that paired with my Razer keyboard. However, the Razer mouse felt very lightweight compared to this one. I prefer a heavy mouse for the smoothness of movement. Also the Razer mouse had issues with the software where it would freeze for a half-second or more, and I would be stuck looking at the ground or sky. Not a good feeling in an online FPS game... I had to get rid of the Razer mouse, and I knew exactly which mouse I was going to replace it with, Logitech 502... While that seems like a negative review against Razer, and it is, I have had ZERO issues with this Logitech mouse. Love the construction, the feel of the buttons, the software, etc. Very good quality. I should have never switched to the Razer, but I came to my senses, and am back with Logitech.

Top notch mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never in a million years thought I would own an expensive mouse. A mouse is a mouse, after all. Right? After seeing a deal website raving about the G502 when it went on sale during Black Friday, I decided to do a little hands-on at "Best Try." Much to my surprise, I was amazed by the way it felt in my hand and how it looked. I liked it even more when I took it home and discovered I could swap weights inside of it to customize its feel. I've barely had a chance to even delve into its endless options for macros, lighting, and DPI, but I loved it so much I decided to get a matching G910 Spectrum Keyboard as well. Looking forward to some hardcore gaming during the holidays and launching my own Twitch and YouTube channels. This seems like a good place to start. Special thanks to Best Buy for having these models on display so I could try them out. The sales associate was also very helpful in my decision to buy.

Comfortable and functional
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking at upgrading to either a g903 or the g502 for a while now. I went to a store where they had both on display and realized the g903 side button locations are terrible if you have larger hands (you essentially have to reach backwards with your fingers to access them). I put the g502 in my hand and realized it was perfect. I have no problems accessing any of the buttons on the mouse and they all have a nice feel to them. The only thing I do not like about this mouse is the scroll wheel has a "wobble" to it. It has some give when pressing side to side since it has a left and right click with just the wheel. This was extremely frustrating for a while when first starting to use the mouse, but you get used to it and don't notice after a while. There are some tutorials online on how to minimize this wobble too (shouldn't be necessary for a mouse which costs this much I realize). Otherwise a fantastic mouse.

Good all around mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I play some games but by no means am I a gamer. I use my computer for many tasks and use it all day. I don't have long term experience with it but by feel and reputation I know it will last me for as long as I don't see something new and cool come out. I like the on the fly DPI shift for both gaming and for photo editing. I can move quickly around my normal mouse pace and when I need accuracy I hold down the shift button and I immediately have the control I need. Love that the mouse has no acceleration built into it. no matter how fast or slow I move the mouse from point A to point B it will move the cursor the same distance on the screen. no more over shooting or guessing where the cursor is going to end up

Fantastic Mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My trusty old HP mouse started getting buggy after years of use, and so I looked into getting a new one. My primary criteria were a precise mouse with a good scroll wheel, as I am an Engineering student and use CAD extensively. After quite a bit of research, I purchased this one from Logitech. This thing is amazing! The buttons all have tactile and audible feedback, It tracks without skipping directly on my desk, has highly adjustable DPI settings, including multiple DPI settings, as well as several cleverly placed buttons to assign frequently used key combinations to. If you have ever had that one project that required the same key combination and options over and over, simply hop into Logitech's gaming software, assign a macro to your preferred button in one of the on-board profiles on the mouse, and voila! Saves me so much time it's not even fair. Completely satisfied with this mouse, and would definitely buy it again. Even its weight and center of gravity can be tuned to your liking!

perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With so many options for gaming mouse it's hard to know what is really needed and what can benefit you. id say that the gaming mice with multiple mapable buttons are a little overkill this mouse has just what you need nothing more and nothing less. me being a bit of a trash gamer I need every advantage I can get so I prefer the wired mouse for zero latency via USB plug and play. download the Logitech software and pick your RBG colors and patterns map the toggle buttons and easy to find single thumb button for what ever you want (I used mine for push to talk functions of games) and save up to 3 different profiles so you can have setting for different games reedy to go all the time. not to mention it was super affordable compared to other gaming mice with similar functions.

Great gaming mouse!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, I have to admit, I thought I had made a mistake when I purchased this mouse when I discovered that the scroll wheel would spin freely and even move on it's own once in a while when moving the mouse across the mouse pad. I was ready to return it but then I read through the user's manual again and discovered that I missed the ability to change the scroll wheel from free wheel to click mode. Somehow I missed that and of all the reviews I read of it I do not recall it being mentioned. Now that I have changed it to the click mode I absolutely love this mouse!!! Previously I was using the Logitech G5 Laser mouse and have been for years but I thought it was time for an upgrade. I love the ability to tune it to your specific mouse pad, that makes a huge difference in performance to me. It is a bit smaller than the G5 that I was using but it didn't take me long to get used to it. Once I become more familiar with the button layouts and it becomes second nature then this will be the perfect gaming mouse for me!!

Much better than avg gaming mouse for a price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is based on a great price that I got this mouse for which was $30. (normally $79.99?) I bought it online and the original G502 that was sent to me had a bad left button(doesn't register sometimes), and a creaky middle scroll speed changer button. So I went to a store and did an even change for another, which also had a creaky middle scroll speed changer button. Design and fit of this mouse is very good, however build quality is a bit questionable. I've owned several Logitech mouses before and although they performed good for their model and price, they didn't last too long. Lets see how long this will last... I personally don't use all the buttons on this nice looking mouse, so I can't really comment on the functionality aspect, other than the fact that dpi and many other things are changeable through the software which is good and has adjustable weight. Would I buy this at a normal price? definitely not. However, it's definitely a great mouse for the price that I got and would recommend it at around the same price.

Great (minus the scroll wheel)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm using this mouse primarily for gaming. I like the extra long cord, the way it feels in my hand, and especially the way it looks. I also like the feature of adjusting the weight of the mouse. I figure the additional buttons and their position on the mouse is really about a personal preference (I tend to like less and buttons that fall in natural hand/finger placements). The *only* thing that I find frustrating is the weight and feel of the scroll wheel. It's very chunky - both in the way it operates and in the way it feels against your finger. I don't have much use for the free-scroll feature but the clicks of the scroll could be much more subtle and the wheel itself could be less rigid (is it metal?). It doesn't take that much away from the experience unless you are a scroll-wheel fanatic, I think you'd be happy with this device.
