Customers are delighted by the high-quality build, responsive keys, and customizable RGB backlighting of the G513 Carbon keyboard. Many appreciate the comfortable wrist rest and the ease of use, finding the typing experience satisfying. While some users experienced minor issues with the software and the lack of dedicated media controls, the positive feedback on the keyboard's core features outweighs these concerns. Almost
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard itself holds up to my heavy hands. However, the software is more intrusive than helpful. That comes from a non-gamer viewpoint. I just wanted a lit mechanical keyboard. Running that without the software is annoying as the keyboard floats through color options.

A Great Overall Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: + Beautiful and Solidly Built Keyboard + USB Passthrough + Fantastic Color and Software Customization (RGB is IMPRESSIVE) + AMAZING Handrest Cons: - No dedicated Media Buttons, but you can fix that with the FN function and Logitech Software. Conclusion: I 100% recommend this keyboard to any PC gamer or custom PC builder looking for an RGB Keyboard Setup with full customization. FULL Review: The Logitech - Gaming G513 Wired Mechanical GX Blue Mechanical Switch Keyboard is an impressive keyboard for serious gamers and people that like customization to their computer components. The first thing you notice right off the bat is the brushed aluminum, its a very pretty and hefty keyboard. I must say the handrest that came with the keyboard is one of the best I've ever used, period. It's soft and hugs my wrists just right and allows me to game at my computer for much longer without any kind of wrist fatigue. The lighting on the keyboard itself is very impressive. Logitech includes an app that allows you to customize the lighting and do different effects. The one I found the most intriguing was a heatsink type where it would only light up the keys you just pressed, slowly fading away. It doesn't really add any benefit to the keyboard itself but it's nice to be able to make them any color I desire at any time and I think thats a big plus for people who like to do custom computer builds. This could match up to essentially any build. The other nice thing Logitech did with this keyboard is they included 12 extra curved gaming keys. All the standard movement keys are included to be able to make the keyboard customized to your needs. The one thing I do wish it had was dedicated media keys, but that can be customized with the included FN function. Again Logitech included great customization software, but it would have just been nice to have a Mute button on the keyboard. The other thing it does have is a USB passthrough, which is handy for charging your phone or an wireless mouse. The software Logitech has for gaming profiles is impressive and robust. It has over 600+ games to choose from to customize the keyboard. I am very impressed with the length that Logitech seems to be going to appeal to the gaming crowd. it knows that gamers want more out of their accessories and they're delivering. I wholeheartedly recommend this Keyboard to anyone looking for a solid Mechanical keyboard with full color customization

solid keyboard, bu rgb lighting does not last long
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning this keyboard for 4 months, the rgb blue lighting stopped working on 7 keys so far. Even if it is not important, it is disappointing and ugly when lit.

Solid old-school keyboard with new appeal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboards with mechanical buttons of yesteryear make a comeback. This keyboard has excellent key response and despite all the negative (sound) reviews I for one appreciate the solid feel of the buttons. It's been a long time since I've had a keyboard that felt this sturdy. I think many fail to understand the idea behind the "mechanical" part of the keyboard....it's going to have some click to it. That's the point. I really appreciate the heft and durability of this keyboard. And the reasonably compact build is quite nice. I would definitely recommend this one to a friend. The LEDs are fun to play with.

Love it. Why didn't I get it sooner?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have one quibble. It takes two USB ports. If you are port challenged, that can be problematic. The fact that the keyboard itself has a port mitigates this somewhat, but I haven't used it enough to know if this is a good option for all of my peripherals or not. And the key clicks are pretty loud. And, maybe I'm the only one, but a tiny piece of paper with a web address on it is hardly a replacement for a manual (especially when it isn't really clear on the website what software exactly you are supposed to download). Ok, that's it. I can't think of anything else constructive/critical to say about this unit. Everything else, and on a whole, it's awesome. The keys have a satisfying feel with excellent, albeit loud, feedback when typing. They are a smidge higher than I am typically used to, but when doing mundane work, I haven't found them to slow me down at all and actually feel very natural (maybe it's because I'm old enough to have learned to type on an actual TYPEWRITER). What makes this keyboard special, and worth the $$ and multiple USB ports is the RGB lighting, of course. First, it just looks cool. Really cool. Like, I'm pretty sure if I wasn't already married (and with a face for radio) chicks would be lining up to date me once they saw this thing. And let's not discount the pleasure that comes from waves of color emanating from your desk when measuring the value of this keyboard. And that's without installing any specific drivers or software. Install the Logitech G Beta software (or whatever it will eventually be called), and it becomes ridiculously easy to customize key color groups to match whatever game/software you are using. There are many games with pre-loaded sets, but of course none of the software I use. I quickly built up a preset for X-plane 11 as well as Pro Tools (the keyboard doesn't know if it's a game or not, obviously), and the set gets loaded automatically when you run the selected program. Super cool, especially when you tend to do your computing in a fairly dark room, as I do (ophthalmologists need not reply). My go to strategy is to highlight the important or frequently used keys with a color (red, orange, green, magenta, etc), and then have all of the other keys in a very dim grey- just enough so I can see where they are, but not distracting in any way. (Another tiny quibble here, or maybe not so tiny, depending on who you are- the "shift" characters on each key are NOT lit, so if you don't know where they are, and you are keeping things dim/dark, you better know where they reside...) If I were just going for the coolness of an LED lit keyboard, I would buy this. But it really does make using keyboard-stroke heavy software/games much easier and more enjoyable. Worth every penny, and an extra USB port. So stop reading and order one.

Solid gaming keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech G513 Carbon Is a great gaming keyboard. I would not dual use it for regular typing due to its setup. The keys are higher up from the base than a normal keyboard. With the included hand rest, it can be very comfortable for gaming. My hands and wrists felt fine after a couple of hours with the rest. The keyboard keys respond well and you know when you have pressed them with a clicking sound as expected with a mechanical keyboard. The keyboard has a solid heavy feel to it and is The keyboard has two USB connectors, one is for the keyboard, and the other for a USB 2.0 passthrough on the back of the keyboard. It also comes with extra keys for 1-5, qwer, and asd that have a deeper indent for fingers then a normal key to keep your fingers in place. A key puller is included to swap out keys as desired. There are no G or memory keys on this keyboard. The Function keys can all serve a dual purpose such as for media/volume control, and lighting. The wrist rest is completely separate from the keyboard, it is not attached or latched to the keyboard. You can put it anywhere that’s comfortable. Using the Logitech gaming software opens up the other functions of the keyboard easily. You can set the Function key default functions. The colors can be set in the software. You can have the keyboard be one uniform color, a rainbow of colors that continuously scroll by, or you can set the color for each individual key or a section of keys if you want. You have access to the full spectrum of colors for the keys. The other standard gaming software items such as heatmaps and firmware upgrades are all available. If you want a keyboard purely for gaming, this is a good choice. It’s responsive, and if you like the click sound of pressing keys, you’ll be pleased. The wrist rest is one of the nicer ones from Logitech I’ve gotten over the years. The aluminum building material gives a durable finish and feel and with mechanical keys I’d expect it to last a long time.

Endless Features and Premium Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon as I started to use the G513, it immediately became my favorite keyboard. Not only does it come with a host of features (and like 10 different color effects), it is impeccably comfortable and performs every bit as well as you'd expect. First, I'll talk about the RGB color effects because they're so awesome. There's a wealth of choices in both how the keyboard lights up and how bright/dim you can set it. One of my favorites is a bloom type effect that lights the keyboard out from the key you just pressed (you press the G key and all the keys around light up in sequence, outwards towards the ends of the keyboard). Between color strobes, blooms, and slow fades, this thing has a style to fit everyone. When picking a keyboard, my primary concern is how comfortable the keyboard is to type on, followed by build quality and performance. This keyboard nails every bullet point. Logitech has included a memory foam wrist rest that makes this thing an absolute joy to type on. The keyboard is apparently made from some aluminum alloy, and it gives off a premium feel I've never experience in a keyboard previously. Finally, the performance is exactly as advertised; immediate, responsive, and consistent. The G513 has secondary functions for nearly any multimedia task you'd think of (changing the volume, play controls, etc). This is much appreciated, especially in the day of laptop keyboards, where function keys are the norm. You can tell the features of this keyboard were well thought out. Bonus, they've included a USB port on the back as well to plug in an additional peripheral. This particular variant of the G513 is the GX Blue model, so be prepared for a LOUD typing experience. Obviously this is by design, as it's meant to be a mechanically clicky keyboard in both feel and sound. But for those looking for a silent option, look for the variant that is marked Romer-G Linear. This is the one to get for those looking for a high performing, comfortable, and quality feeling keyboard. Just make sure you're OK with the loud clicking of this GX Blue model.

What a Keyboard!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.People are always saying mechanical keyboards are a necessity in gaming. I thought I was doing just fine using the built-in keyboard on my HP Omen laptop. Once I tried the G513, I realized I had been doing it all wrong. When it comes to keyobard use, I have always typed on low travel keys (MacBook, HP Omen). When I opened the box of the G513 and started doing some test typing, I was amazed by how much response you get with each press. Logitech made a really great keyboard with the G513. The keyboard is made with some great, premium materials. The key caps also seem to be durable, meaning they should give years of use. I also though the RGB back lighting would just be a huge gimmick, but holy smokes it is so cool. You can download the Logitech Gaming Software and customize each individual key to whatever you desire. Something that I didn't know when I received the keyboard was that it uses two USB ports. At first I was upset that I was going to lose an extra USB port, but then saw that the keyboard actually has a USB pass-through port. I plugged my mouse receiver into it. Overall, this keyboard is fantastic. I am just impressed by all the features, build quality, and response of the keys. Logitech made another fantastic gaming product.

Great keyboard with a few cons
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this keyboard. I grew up learning to type and compute on a trash 80, so the tactile mechanical keys work for me. The keys are well lit and I find them useful not only during regular use, but also when I enter a dark office and just want to do a quick search or check a page. For whatever reason, I've had trouble with most of the keyboards I've purchased as of late. My right index finger seems to find "k" and everything I type comes out wrong. This keyboard has been no exception, but with the mechanical keys I'm starting to get better at it. It just seems this as well as the other keyboards have the keys scrunched together. It's probably just me, so I'll keep working at it. I found it odd that Logitech included some spare keys, but they all seem to be ones needed on the left side. Q,W,E,R, 1,2,3,4,5,A,S and D. Why not the other ones or why just these? Other things to know like it uses 2 USB slots, I'm guessing for lighting and keyboard. It does have a USB slot on the back of the keyboard, so I just moved the mouse dongle from my desktop to the keyboard. So far I find no lag or issues using the mouse in this configuration. I had a USB extension cable up to my monitors because of lag, so the keyboard puts the dongle about the same distance away. It comes with a nice soft wrist pad the length of the keyboard. Lastly, you will need to go to the Logitech website and download a couple of software packages so you can set the lighting and other settings. If I get the hand placement thingy down, this keyboard is definitely a keeper.

So many choices… choose wisely
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Logitech definitely knows how to make a keyboard. Decided to have a try at this “clicky” keyboard after happily using a G810 Orion Spectrum (RGB) for over a year. Gaming needs are different from “office use” needs, and I found the G513 to be a very responsive keyboard, nicely sculpted and with the excellent Logitech customizations for the key color schemes, including individual key color programming. The G513 is, to my mind, more stylish – whereas the G810 is a more conservative approach. Again, for gaming, the G513 is the better keyboard provided you want the Blue Mechanical “clicky keys.” The G513 also has the USB pass-through, which is lacking on the G810. What the G513 does NOT have, that I am accustomed to, and prefer, on the G810, are: illumination on the 1-0 shift key functions (the ones I still forget which is which), and volume/media controls on the keyboard. These may not be that critical for a gaming keyboard, but I must admit I miss them after using the G810 for so long. My best advice for deciding on the gaming keyboard you want is to try them out on a store display, and read lots of reviews to get a feel for what to expect. Each person has particular preferences, particularly for high-intensity gaming, and if the functions on the G513 meet your requirements then you will not be disappointed in the style and construction of this keyboard.

Gamer keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went into the store and Best buy did not have so there have ordered it for me to be delivered to my home. I received it and as I saw the box without opening it I knew it was used. So I took a chance and the control button was broken and the extra keys that come with was open as well. So I took it back to the lakeland Florida store on 98. They accepted the package and agreed it was used and made excuses why it was sent to me. Stop making excuses if you are packing something to send out take a moment especialy if the boxed look opened to review. I could not get one in the store and needed a keyboard and for each one I asked for there was no inventory available they would have to order to be dilvered. So right there in the store I went on Amazon and was able to get same day delivery for the same keyboard.

Loving this Keyboard!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: • Amazingly beautiful design • Additional USB Port • Great palm rest • Awesome keyboard key color options • Keyboard feet and pads CONS: • Heavy (for a keyboard) Review: An amazing keyboard with a high polished design for the serious gamer. The keys are clicky but provide that satisfaction of clicking that people and gamers enjoy. They are smooth and very responsive with a great height balance. Great for gaming or everyday use (just maybe not late at night when all are asleep). The palm rest isn’t too cushy or too thin, offers a great in the middle balance. Keyboard cables are nice and thick, with great covering to shield them. Since the keyboard uses two USB ports, it’s great that there’s an additional one on the keyboard itself. Having feet on the keyboard is a great option for those that like more of an incline while typing, which I do but it also has great pads. These pads are located on the corners and in the middle (top and bottom) and are pretty large, not just those small, circular flat ones. These large pads in these positions provide amazing limited slide/slip on your surface. The color options using the Logitech software are out of this world! There seems to be infinite colors and even customizable with hundreds of games to choose from. One thing I found that would have been great is audio control, something simple like a mute, volume increase/decrease. All in all, this is a great keyboard and a definite buy at the price range.

Junk - Do not purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Total piece of junk. It feels like it has extremely nice build quality and was wonderful for a few months but after 2 years of very light use it's completely useless. The keys either double-type or don't type at all. It's incredibly frustrating to use and Logitech won't do anything about it. I'm very disappointed as I have trusted Logitech for over 15 years.
