Customers are positive about the G513 Carbon keyboard's build quality, comfortable wrist rest, and satisfying key feel. The USB passthrough and customizable RGB lighting are also frequently praised features. However, some users express frustration with the accompanying software, citing difficulties with its usability and occasional bugs. Overall, the positive feedback on the keyboard's core features outweighs the negative comments regarding the software.

Great Gaming Keyboard

It's a fantastic gaming keyboard. It does everything you would want a gaming keyboard to do. Your have your choice of blue, brown, or red key switches. You can set macro's, specific game profiles, and extremely customizable RGB lighting. It even has replacement gaming key caps for making it easier to feel the correct key while gaming. It also comes with one of the best wrist pads I have ever used with a keyboard. I've really enjoyed using this keyboard while gaming. I chose the brown switch version, and I love it for playing FPS games like COD or PUBG.
Things I Like:
1.) Compact for a full size keyboard.
2.) Fantastic wrist pad
3.) Fully customizable RGB
4.) Gaming key caps
Things I Don't Like:
1.) I wish all the symblos lit up, like the ! @ # $ ; " { ) etc, and function buttons. It's next to impossible to see in a dark room.
2.) Wish it came in a mini version (without the number pad)

This is a great keyboard. It is very solid with the metal frame. The keys feel just like typing on an old-fashioned electric typewriter, but the actual typing is not noisy. I'm going to use this keyboard mostly for typing, with a little bit of gaming, so this is perfect for my needs. The RGB customizations add a nice touch. This keyboard is not big and bulky, despite being full size with the number pad included. The USB port for the mouse is also useful.

I've had it for about two weeks. I love how customizable it is with the Logitech app and the tactile keys are so satisfying to click. I was a bit skeptical at first but the wrist pad is surprisingly comfortable and I can't imagine not having one now. The design of the keyboard is great and I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I bought this keyboard for my office to replace the cheap standard issue Dell keyboard I had, and it's been great so far. Key presses are firm, but not too loud for the office environment. You can also adjust the lighting option so that it's not doing the whole RGB spectrum all the time (I set it to just glow blue, so it still looks nice but it's not as obnoxious). It's heavy and feels well constructed.

Really nice keyboard. I have one for work and it works great. RGBs aren’t super noticeable unless the room is dark. Apart from that, no complaints.

I really like this keyboard and I am happy with it overall.
I've used 2 of these Logitechs, both have similar design quirks,
The spacebar on this model feels cheap compared to the brown switches on the qwerty keys. Enter & Backspace are also not as good- kind of a flat tire bounce to it after some use. My current keyboard sometimes adds an extra "?" when used for typing, which is a little annoying.
The palm rest is nice quality and has shown no sign of wear thus far after daily use. Very Comfortable.
USB-passthrough is a really nice feature, too.

And all around keyboard, Even if you don’t use this keyboard for gaming.
I’ve been spending some time with my new logitech carbon wired keyboard, and if you’re like me reading this review, I am not an expert on these types of keyboards, but that’s OK, This review is more for casual PC gamers or just PC users.
For me it was just literally plug and play, I just hooked it up to my PC and started typing away without needing to download any kind of software.
The quality of the keyboard is top notch, it’s got some surprising weight to it. Not only does it look good but the keys Feel good and the lights are just awesome on it.
This particular keyboard has “clicky” keys meaning they make some noise to them, the only issue that might come from this is if you are typing or gaming at night, it will bother other nearby people, But I believe other models fix these kinds of issues, it’s personal preference really.
You can connect your mouse straight onto the keyboard with its included USB port, Not sure how many other keyboards do this but it comes in handy.
The included Palm rest is made of high quality Materials and perfect for this keyboard, I like how it’s not too soft and not too hard.
Overall I would definitely recommend this keyboard either for gaming or just for typing.

I've been a Logitech fan for a long time with a G810 and a G13 sitting on my main computer as I type this. The G513 continues my affection for Logitech, but it still has a lot of room for improvement.
The keyboard itself is well built and what you would expect from Logitech. There is no flex in the board itself while the cable is sturdy and braided. The included keyboard palm rests is one of the bests I've used in a long time, and I've used many gel and memory foam versions. This model in particular is a rehash of an older Logitech model that used Romer G keys, but are now replaced with GX keys. Having used mechanical keyboards in the past, typing on it went as would be expected, with my fingers flying over the keys, especially compared to my old work keyboard. I like the addition of a function key and replacing the right windows key with it in order to keep a standard keystroke layout across their models. This function key also allows for the use of macros, which can make tasks and some games easier.
But with everything I enjoyed, it failed on a few key areas. As mentioned, Logitech has replaced their Romer G keys with GX switches. They feel nice and now use the same key cap connector as MX switches, but they are only top illuminated. Compared to the Romer G keys which are center illuminated, it's a nice and day difference in visual clarity. Also due to this change, any shifted key has the shifted icon on the bottom row of the key cap. Not a huge issue, but it can be disconcerting if you visually type at all. Along with the keys being different, which keys you can program through the macro function are in weird areas for gaming. They're all directly above WASD on the keyboard, which in my case would mean taking my fingers off my directional in order to run a macro. It would make more sense to have the 10key pad be programmable as well.
Additionally, there is the issue of the pass through USB port. On every other keyboard with a pass through port that I've used, it's one connector to plug the keyboard in. However, Logitech has opted to not use an internal USB hub and has a second connector on the cord. They've thankfully clearly labeled each connector, but it's something that could have been fixed for a dollar or two in parts. The connector is also not USB 3.0, which given the use of a second connector, seems like a wasted potential benefit as a pass through USB 3.0 connector would have been a killer feature for file transfers and peripheral connecting.
Lastly, is the new G Hub software. While I like the fact that the software will now turn off my keyboard lighting when the computer goes inactive, I don't feel that the software is ready for prime time yet. The old Logitech Gaming Software is still compatible with this keyboard and also has easier ways to store profiles to the keyboards internal memory. LGS is also compatible with my G13 gaming pad, while G Hub is not.
All in all, this is a good keyboard, but with the missteps I've found, I don't feel it commands the price tag it currently has, when other Logitech keyboards offer better for less. If you're going for gaming, potentially look at a G910. The palm rest is not as nice, but the macro keys are dedicated and have much better positioning on the side of the WASD. If you're going for a good office keyboard, this one hits most of the sweet spots, though you may want to find it on sale.

GX brown switches are excellent

the good:
- design - Aluminum alloy looks fantastic, understated in a good way. Design is compact for a full size keyboard.
- switch feel / activation - I personally love the GX brown switches. There’s a very slight tactile bump, but the actuation is at the top of that bump. It almost feels like a linear switch, but faster. I’m able to use this as my daily driver for both gaming and work, without sacrificing any speed.
- USB passthrough - On board USB port is a nice touch.
- included “gaming” keycaps and puller - Essentially the left side of the keyboard, these keys are actually a different shape on the top that allows for easy identification without necessarily looking down. They’re shaped like a little valley, which aids in finger placement.
- quiet - For a gaming keyboard, there really is no keyboard “clickiness” to it. It’s not dead silent, but the number of people I’ve had complaining about my keyboard being heard over the phone has gone down to zero.
- compatible with G Hub, which is Logitech’s light and key mapping software. Super customizable, from lighting to key mapping.
the bad:
- none
misc:
- no volume knob - A personal pet peeve of mine, I prefer using a volume knob to adjust the volume of my system. This may bother some, others won’t care.
- palm rest not attached - Some keyboards in this price range offer a magnetized connection between the palm rest and the keyboard, which would’ve been nice here. As it works out, the palm rest does stay in place very well, so it’s not a huge deal.
- key lighting visibility below the key - It appears to be by design, and is by no means a deal breaker, but the lighting effects are visible below the key as well as the actual keycap top. Some won’t care about this, some may be annoyed.
overall:
Overall this keyboard is a very solid entry for Logitech. It looks and types great - understated but fully functional and customizable. Easy 5 stars for me.

Best in class

Before I can even talk about functionality, I have to wholeheartedly admit that the G513 is the best built gaming keyboard I have ever used.
The aircraft-grade aluminum finish is absolutely fantastic and stunning to look at. Resting my hands on the leather memory foam palmrest is literally a dream and the tactile feedback from the brown switches is literally unmatched.
Once you get past the gorgeous design that Logitech developed, you are left with a best-in-class gaming keyboard. Actually, make that the best keyboard you will ever use for ANYTHING.
Thanks to G-Hub, you are able to completely customize every single key, including individual key colors. You are also able to pre-set "game mode" which deactivates trouble-some keys (like the windows key) while you are gaming. On top of that, Logitech includes 12 "gaming" key caps to help you identify the most popular keys *1 2 3 4 5, Q W E R, A S D" so you don't lose your place even when gaming gets intense.
The most impressive part of the keyboard is the tactile brown switches that give you feedback with each press. There's a satisfying moment with each key click thanks to that subtle feedback. It's nothing like I have ever used before. Instinctually over time, I feel myself responding much more quickly thanks to the brown switches. Is a feedback feature really enough to make a decision on this keyboard? YES, YES IT IS!
I don't ever see myself going back to any other kind of keyboard, even during non-gaming applications.

I love this keyboard. I have had multiple gaming and mechanical keyboards over the years. This G513 is sleek and compact, while still being weighty and sturdy. The RGB lighting is what you would expect from Logitech. It's bright, works well, and is very customizable with the Logitech G software. I love these more standard keycaps, as I tend to not like the flatter laptop-style keys as much. General typing and gaming has felt perfect to me, and it looks great on my desk. The included wrist rest is comfortable and well made. The only thing I wish this keyboard had was dedicated media keys or a volume wheel like some of their other models. The only reason I did not subtract a star for the lack of media controls, is the fact you can inverse the F key function in the logitech G software, making the Fn+F media functions work without hitting Function first. So it's not perfect, but it's something I can live with given how great the rest of the keyboard is.

Gaming Keyboard Excellence

The Logitech G513 with tactile mechanical switches is a great all around keyboard. It is very well built and has a great premium feel thanks to the brushed aluminum deck. It's a rigid and stable typing platform. The tactile switches have great travel and a satisfying feel without being overly 'clicky'. If you like loud keyboards this probably isn't it. That said, I use it for both gaming and productivity tasks and it is great at both. There is a pass-through USB port on the backside as well which is nice if you are using a wired mouse or possibly a USB headset. The lighting effects are assignable through the gaming software and can be synced to a Logitech RGB mouse. Overall RGB effects are good and the LED output is bright and vivid.
Overall, the Logitech G513 with tactile switches is a top-of-the-line keyboard that can satisfy most gamers and serve a dual function with productivity tasks. Keep the G513 on your short list of choices.

Pros:
The keyboard is constructed of luxe materials. The base is made of aluminum.
The keys feel good to the touch and are responsive. Also the keys were relatively quiet.
The wrist rest is super comfortable—it might be my favorite part of the setup.
The backlighting is neat, not something I see myself needing but was a nice value add. Being able to turn off the backlighting and also adjust the pattern was super nice, as I found the default backlighting a bit distracting.
Cons:
I did not enjoy the key sensitivity while working in productivity applications. It’s possible I would get more used to it over time. This did not effect my rating as, in my opinion, the product performed as intended.

Solid Construction, Keys Feel Great

This is an excellent keyboard. I primarily play FPS games and love the way the keys feel. They’re a little heavy on the force required for actuation, but I did not see an impact on performance. The aluminum construction of the keyboard feels and looks incredible. The raised key appearance looks great and the RGB is brilliant and bright. I love the USB pass through for easy access to charging or connecting other peripherals. This is a small, but noticeable upgrade from the G810 I previously used. Also came with extra WASDQWERTY keys and a key remover tool.

I wanted to love the Logitech G513. I have always held Logitech to a high standard and expected as such with this RGB keyboard.
As a keyboard this is a satisfying product. The weight and sturdiness of the keyboard is wonderful. A bit lighter than I expected, while still feeling solid. I am happy with the GX Brown tactile switches. They provide a crisp sound while having a moderate tactile feedback sensation with engagement of the keys. Removing a key for switch replacement is easy. The keyboard also comes with padding for the wrist. I personally do not care for that; however, this one is detachable and feels firm while well padded. The keyboard also has a passthrough USB. This allows for convenient access to USB access point right at the keyboard; this feature does require a separate USB hook-up beside the main one for the keyboard.
Now, onto the RGB portion of this product including the Logitech G HUB software. The software was easy to download from the provided web address (internet required for install, no disc provided). The software recognized the G513, allowing for an interface to control the keyboard settings. There are three different headings: Lightsync, assignments, and game mode.
Lightsync allows for the RGB customization. There are preset options, freestyle – allowing for individual color assignments, and animations which are also preprogrammed. The various preprogrammed options are enjoyable, and flashy, as many desire with a RGB keyboard, while the freestyle allows for customization that one may want while gaming or just everyday use. The RGBs themselves are what caused the overall score in this review to suffer. An RGB keyboard, coming from a highly revered brand, comes with significant expectations. And in my opinion, I felt let down. Many of the preprogrammed settings, with alternating lighting effects or even those with solid effect, caused my eyes to struggle. The RGB light production resulted in blurring that I have experienced with other keyboards; however, certain higher end RGB keyboards typically avoid this sensation. The blending of the RGB themselves is slightly noticeable depending on the color chosen. I enjoy pushing a keyboard as far as the colors available – mainly white, orange, and purple. None of these colors, dialed in, impressed me by any means ultimately leaving a gaping whole in the keyboard for me, as my main 1 color RGB setup is purple.
Assignments allows for customization of the F1-F12 keys. This keyboard does not have dedicated macro keys, keeping a slender profile in that regard. The F keys may be assigned commands, keys, actions, macros, or system and setting these up is mainly a drag and drop function, simple to implement.
Game mode will disable key functions, preventing mis-clicks while gaming: for example, the windows key.
A fabulous bonus, that is included with the G HUB is access to other user profiles that they have shared. I am a fan of user-based designs, and having downloadable settings that others designed beyond the preset manufacture settings or your own creations is just a fabulous touch.
Overall, this is a good keyboard; however, if you are picky when it comes to RGB presentation, this may not be the keyboard for you.

This was my first mechanical gaming keyboard so I was curious how well the more expensive keyboards were as well as mechanical. Out of the box this keyboard is very impressive. Well built and looks fantastic. The keys press very well and the noise is something to get used to but for a mechanical I heard they are more noticeable. I would definitely purchase another one of these and it would be another Logitech for sure. The back lighting is impressive but the software is a bit cumbersome but it only took a little bit to get used to using.

This is a replacement for my old G510 gaming keyboard. I was a little apprehensive, and I miss the 18 dedicated Gmacro keys from my old keyboard, but this thing is amazing!
I still haven't figured out how to use the G-shift, and there's a bit of a learning curve to this thing. I almost rated it a 4 for that.
The lights are great. Tactile feel from the keys is amazing. Response is lag free. It's heavy, solidly built and doesn't easily move.
I used to be a hard core gamer, but life, other hobbies and responsibilities has moved me into the moderate category. Even so, I'd recommend everyone get one of these for gaming.
My GF is a very casual gamer and doesn't really get into gear and peripherals. I let her try it out an she's hooked. To the point I've had to buy another one because in her words "I love it, it lives here with me now"
If you want an awesome, customize-able, durable keyboard, get this!
