The Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED Wireless RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - GL Clicky is hands down the best gaming keyboard out on the market right now. This thing is a beast in terms of quality and functionality. The top of the keyboard is made of a brushed black aircraft grade aluminum giving the G915 a sleek premium look and feel. The mechanical keys are low profile and sleek. The feel of the keys when typing is the highlight of this keyboard for me. The smooth strokes and tactile feedback (clicks) you get are very satisfying when typing or gaming. Pair the G915 with the G Hub software and this is where you take this keyboard to another level. You can control RGB lighting effects with some pretty cool effects that I haven’t seen before and even edit your own. You can save different up to 3 different game profiles and there are 5 G keys that you can program custom game macros. The G915 also provides 30 hours of battery on a 3 hour battery charge. Another highlight are the media controls, you have your rubberized media buttons below this awesome wide volume wheel that is a pleasure to use because it is so intuitive and smooth when scrolling to adjust the volume. I’ve been playing Apex, Fornite, and Overwatch for the most part testing out the G915 and it handles games like a champ. I think Logitech really out did themselves with this one and if you’re a gamer whether casual or hardcore I’d recommend this bad boy all day. From gaming to typing I just love everything about this keyboard.

Recently, I reviewed the new Logitech G903 LIGHTSPEED mouse. Now, Logitech is releasing their latest keyboards…the G815 (wired) & G915 (wireless)…which pair up quite nicely with Logitech’s G903 & G502 LIGHTSPEED mice. Both keyboards are available with your choice of three different mechanical switches – Romer-G Tactile, Romer-G Linear, & Romer-GL Clicky. I’m quite certain that, for the greatest part, almost everything that applies to the GL Clicky version applies to the other two, with the ONLY differences being how the keys feel, and sound. While I have continuously used Logitech mice for a great many years, I switched to Corsair keyboards a few years ago…and, as such, there will be several comparisons between the new G915, and the Corsair K95 RGB I’ve been using. Will the Logitech G915 be “good enough” to replace my current favorite? We shall see. UNBOXING AND INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Logitech is getting extremely good at designing “quality” packaging for their high-end products. Other than size, there is very little difference between the G903’s packaging, and the packaging of the new G915 keyboard…and, honestly, this isn’t just a “good” thing, but a “great” thing. The box is made of thick, sturdy cardboard, the internal packaging is very environmentally-friendly, and there is a very pleasing minimalistic-tech appearance to everything. As for the keyboard, itself, to be completely honest, just by looking, while the bottom & sides of the keyboard are (obviously) plastic, I am unable to tell if the top if brushed aluminum, or plastic made to look like brushed aluminum…and, quite honestly, I don’t care – it looks absolutely fantastic, and is the exact opposite of a “fingerprint magnet”. The keyboard is both light, and heavy, at the same time. Compared to the Corsair K95 RGB I’ve been using, it feels slightly heavier. My only ‘complaint’ (albeit, a minor one, at least for now…although it’s possible that could change) is that, just by looking at the keyboard, I can tell that only the primary keyboard characters are backlit by RGB LEDs…the secondary characters are merely printed on the4 keys, and will eventually wear off. Before setting up the keyboard, with my computer shut down, I “played around” withy the keys of both keyboards, and, I have to admit, I was already beginning to like the feel of the G915’s keys over those of the K95. While they don’t press as deep, they do feel more “natural”. I really do like the K95, but one “complaint” I’ve always had is how the key movement resembles the old IBM Selectric keyboards. Yes, some people do prefer that type of key movement. I remember typing on an IBM Selectric back when I was in junior high, and high school, and, compared to the computer keyboards I started typing on around the same time, I never got the “feel” for those typewriter keyboards…I always preferred the shorter movement of computer keyboards. However, I did miss the sound & “clicky-ness” of those Selectric keyboards. Once mechanical keyboards started showing up, I finally got to enjoy that feeling again…except that, in addition to the feeling, the higher actuation also returned, which I didn’t care for. Move forward many years, and Logitech finally started releasing mechanical keyboards using these wonderful “short-throw” (ie. lower actuation) switches in keyboards, and we now have the “best of both worlds”. SETUP: Remember when you had to charge the wireless mouse, then plug in the ‘dongle’, then put the mouse in “search mode”, then the computer detected the mouse, and finally you had to sync the mouse & dongle together? Well, that way of connecting is gone. With Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED technology, it is better, easier, faster, less complicated…and worse. Yes, I said “worse”…but, allow me to explain. When Logitech first started making wireless keyboards, they used dongles that utilized Bluetooth, which could connect up to six devices to the computer. In addition to Logitech device4s, these dongles could connect any Bluetooth device. Moving forward, Logitech came up with the “Unifying’ dongle. While still (technically) Bluetooth, it utilized a proprietary signal/coding, which eliminated the possibility of connecting non-Logitech devices, but also made the Logitech device signals stronger. LIGHTSPEED is another advance in this (although I am uncertain whether it’s still a derivative of Bluetooth, or whether this is truly a proprietary Logitech technology. On the ’plus’ side, the technology provides a much stronger, as well as incredibly fast, dedicated connection…and, therein lies the “worse” part. As far as I am able to tell, the dongle can ONLY be used to connect the device printed on the dongle. As I mentioned, in addition to the new G915 LIGHTSPEED keyboard, I also have a G502 LIGHTSPEED mouse. As such, I have two dongles plugged into my computer…one that states “G915”, and another that states “G502”. Previously, whether using a Logitech Bluetooth or Unifying dongle, you only needed a dingle dongle for up to six different Logitech devices. Now, each device requires its own dongle, and, thus, its own USB port (whether on the computer, or via a USB hub). If I wanted to add a Logitech LIGHTSPEED wireless headset, I’d have to find another available USB port. Now, if anyone has any information on how to connect multiple LIGHTSPEED devices to a single dongle, my ears are open. Anyway, back to the4 ‘setup’ information. Setup is as simple as going to Logitech’s G-Hub software download page, downloading & installing the software, plugging the dongle in, turning the keyboard on, starting the software, and then pressing the “LIGHTSPEED” button on the keyboard…and the keyboard is connected. Once connected, you can start playing around with the LED color settings, as well as the keyboard’s other settings. COMFORT: As I mentioned, I’ve been using Corsair keyboards for the past several years…first the Strafe RGB, and, more recently, the newest K95 RGB v2. Prior to these two, I had been using Logitech membrane keyboards for more years than I can remember. Upon connecting the new G915, I instantly started liking it…and, not just “slightly more” than the Corsair K95, but considerably more. Instead of just my opinion, I decided to get my wife’s opinion…but, in a very unique way – a blind/deaf test. I blindfolded my wife, and then placed some noise-canceling headphones over her ears. This way, she wouldn’t be able to visually see what keyboard was in front of her, and she wouldn’t be able to hear any differences. What I was interested in was her opinion of the feel, and nothing else. The four keyboards I placed before her, in order, were as follows: the Dell keyboard that came with her computer, the Corsair K95, the G915, and, finally, the Logitech K800 she’s been using for the past year. the order she liked the keyboards best is as follows: G915, K95, Dell, & K800. Interesting that the keyboard she thought was the best for typing was the G915, and the keyboard she thought was the worst as the very K800 she’s been using. This, from someone who’s been typing for well over 40 years. Of course, I told her she can’t have the G915…it’s mine, mine, mine, all mine. CLOSING THOUGHTS: To be completely honest, even though I don’t care a whole lot for the actuation height of the Corsair K95, I was really hoping I’d still like it better than the G915. The truth is, the G915 is a better keyboard – I prefer the shorter actuation height, I prefer the feel, I prefer the “clicky” sound, I prefer the wider volume roller-bar, I prefer it being wireless…I could easily keep going on, but I’m guessing anyone reading this has gotten the picture. THE GOOD: • To keep my “THE GOOD” section short, I’ll just say “almost everything” THE BAD: • Price - $250 is a lot…and, I mean a LOT…to spend on a keyboard, including a mechanical keyboard THE UGLY: • The LIGHTSPEED dongle being only able to connect to a single LIGHTSPEED device. FINAL VERDICT: Starting with the LIGHTSPEED dongle, while I wasn’t expecting it to connect to as many devices as Logitech’s previous Bluetooth & Unifying dongles, they could have set things up for it to, at least, be able to connect to three devices (say, keyboard, mouse, and headset). Having to use a separate dongle for each individual LIGHTSPEED device is not only a PitA, but it also wastes USB ports, which has always been one of the benefits of using wireless devices. Then, there’s the “problem” of the outrageous price…$250 for the wireless version, and even $200 for the wired version is a LOTY of money, and an amount that few will be able, or be willing, to spend. That having been said, overall, the new Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED keyboard (and the G815 wired version) is excellent, and I would HIGHLY recommend it. Better yet, pair it with either a G903, or G502, LIGHTSPED mouse, and you’ll have a wireless gaming setup ready to conquer whatever game you’re playing. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

    G915 Review

Pros: -Sleek and durable design with a low-profile form factor -Excellent wireless performance with Lightspeed technology -Responsive and satisfying GL Clicky mechanical switches -Brilliant RGB backlighting customization options -Long battery life with efficient power management Cons: -Premium price point -No dedicated media keys or USB passthrough -Limited wrist rest support Review: The Logitech G915 Lightspeed is a gaming keyboard that delivers an exceptional wireless gaming experience without compromising on performance or style. With its sleek design, responsive mechanical switches, and customizable RGB lighting, it's a top-tier choice for gamers seeking the best wireless keyboard on the market. The G915 Lightspeed boasts a sleek and premium design. Its low-profile form factor gives it a slim and modern appearance, while the brushed aluminum top plate provides durability and a high-end feel. The keyboard's build quality is outstanding, ensuring it can withstand intense gaming sessions and everyday use. Logitech's Lightspeed wireless technology is a standout feature of the G915 Lightspeed. It provides a lag-free and ultra-fast wireless connection, delivering the same performance as a wired keyboard. You can enjoy the freedom of a wireless setup without sacrificing the responsiveness and precision required for competitive gaming. The GL Clicky mechanical switches on the G915 Lightspeed offer a delightful typing and gaming experience. These switches combine a tactile bump with an audible click, providing satisfying feedback with each keypress. The switches have a short actuation distance, allowing for fast and precise keystrokes, making it ideal for gamers who prefer a tactile and clicky feel. Customization is a key aspect of the G915 Lightspeed. The keyboard's RGB backlighting offers an extensive range of customization options. You can personalize the lighting effects, colors, and patterns through Logitech's G HUB software. The ability to synchronize the lighting with other compatible peripherals adds a captivating visual element to your gaming setup. The G915 Lightspeed's battery life is impressive, thanks to its efficient power management. With up to 30 hours of usage on a single charge, you can game for extended periods without worrying about battery life. The included micro-USB cable allows you to charge the keyboard while using it, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay when needed. While the G915 Lightspeed excels in many areas, it does come with a premium price tag. The advanced wireless technology, high-quality construction, and mechanical switches contribute to its elevated cost. Additionally, some users may miss dedicated media keys or a USB passthrough feature, which are not present on this keyboard. Another consideration is the limited wrist rest support. The G915 Lightspeed does not include a detachable or adjustable wrist rest, which may be a drawback for users who prefer ergonomic support during long gaming sessions. However, third-party wrist rests can be used as an alternative. In conclusion, the Logitech G915 Lightspeed is the ultimate wireless mechanical gaming keyboard that combines performance, style, and convenience. With its sleek design, responsive mechanical switches, customizable RGB backlighting, and efficient wireless technology, it offers an outstanding gaming experience. While the premium price and absence of dedicated media keys or USB passthrough are worth noting, the G915 Lightspeed is a worthy investment for gamers who prioritize wireless freedom without compromising on performance.

When I was in the market for a new keyboard, I saw this one and thought, "$250 for a keyboard? that's insane." I've been typing on a logitech cherry brown keyboard since 2016 and was afraid to purchase a new keyboard at this price point with skinny keys. But I grabbed it anyway because it was wireless and still had the numpad which I use often. Well I've had this keyboard for a week now and I'm convinced. It's great - keys are clicky and responsive, RGB is beautiful, wireless works instantly, and the battery life is unexpectedly good. It seems to last about 6 days on one charge. The aluminum body feels heavy and high quality. Ghub is quirky, but not horrible - I think Logitech still needs to iron out their RGB software. G keys I surprisingly love - I've programmed them to instantly open tskmanager, chrome, discord, spotify, and Ghub. Honestly it's a great keyboard, albeit for a premium price. I'm happy with the purchase.

I was originally looking at purchasing the Tactile version of this keyboard, but the Clicky version was on sale and available locally. My concern was that it would be annoyingly loud, but luckily, the display model at my local Best Buy was the Clicky, allowing me to give it a try. It took a little getting used to the low profile and engagement after using a G810 for several years, but after a few weeks, I’ve gotten used to it. I really like the G hub integration, and the fact that it immediately recognized and implemented the RGB settings from my G810 without having to change a thing. Speaking of which, the lighting pops through the keys pretty well. I also have to hand it to the battery. After 3 weeks, I’m still close to 60% from the original charge. I will say, however, that it took quite some time to fully charge when I first got it. Finally, I have to praise the Lightspeed wireless protocol. I can’t perceive ANY lag whatsoever. It’s also greatthatI can connect to myiPad via Bluetooth if I want as well. If there’s anything I can knock, it has to be the MSRP. Even at the sale price, this is likely the most you’ll ever spend on a keyboard, unless you’re into super custom mechanical keyboards. For an off the shelf product, however, it’s pretty solid, and offers a decent mechanical feel, even if it’s not quite on par with those super customs - but, I still feel that for what I paid, the price matches what I got. On the software side, it would be nice if the RGB goodies included the ability to include “reactionary” animations when keys are pressed, and not just the small set of standard patterns. I’m sure the keyboard is technically capable of it if their G hub development gets on it. Combined, these critiques add up to a one star bump, but overall, I’m really happy with the keyboard so far. Let’s see how long the keys hold up. It’s a bit disappointing that Logitech does not seem to offer/sell replacement keys. I do hope that changes in time. Anyway, I’m really happy with my combination of G915, G903 mouse, and PowerPlay wireless charging mouse pad. They all work together really well.

This keyboard is amazing. The tacticle clicky keys have just the right feel. The colors are fun. The battery lasts about a week of all day use. The media buttons and volume control are excellent and I use them often. I use this on a Macbook Pro via Bluetooth and with the touch of a button, can use the lightspeed wireless on my PC. The only minor gripes are that the "SHIFT" characters are below the primary function and not lit. It's also a little expensive. It looks and feels great!

If you want a thin, well built and high end clean look this is the keyboard for you! Plenty of rgb light modes and customization on a per key basis. Battery lasts weeks between charges. Keys have a very satisfying click with a short throw for quick gaming and easy typing for productivity. I bought one for myself and my wife loved it so much she wanted her own as well. Easily the best wireless gaming keyboard, period. Even the newer Corsair K100 fails to go wireless. Having come from the K95 Platinum, a great keyboard, but with clicks and clacks way too loud for my liking, and when seeing reviews on this kb and it's compact look? I had to give it a try. The fact that it's compact, wireless, and much quieter makes this a huge win for me. Not a single dropout as expected from Logitech. Paired with the g903 Hero, you can't lose. Unfortunately, you can't unify both devices via a single USB receiver. The clickyness of the keyboard is pretty quiet. The lighting is also great. Wireless mode lasts for quite some time as well. Quality of the build itself is solid. I did have done initial problems with the software not reading my battery percentages correctly on both my mouse and kb. I had to uninstall the ghub software and completely Wipeout the hidden folders before reinstalling to have this corrected. Not a big deal.
