Customers praise the Harmony 950 Universal Remote's ease of use, compatibility with various devices, and sleek design. However, some users experienced issues with the touchscreen responsiveness, battery life, and charging inconsistencies. A few also mentioned the price point as a potential drawback, and some noted slightly slower response times compared to previous models. Overall, the remote is well-regarded for its functionality but has some areas needing improvement.

It works, but has it's issues

I wanted to add this to my Harmony Smart Control Hub for a couple years. Thought that I would love to have a second remote that I could use that had more features. I have owned the Harmony Smart Control for 3-4 years. Pros: Device Control: You can control your individual devices, unlike the Harmony Smart Control Remote. Cons: Battery life: 3-5 days per charge. This is with the motion wake up turned off, and screen time set to minimum time and brightness. I also don't use it every time in those days (other remotes). Harmony Smart Control Remote lasts 3 months on a 2032? battery. Charging is glichy: Either it says it's charging, but after hours you check to see that it's not. Or the battery indicator doesn't reset when it is actually charged. Cost: It's overpriced for 2nd remote. Would like to just have 2 of the Harmony Smart Control Hub Remote. In the end: I regret this purchase. I will think about it longer (2 years this time, 5 years next time :-/ ) the next time I want to purchase a "higher end" Logitech product.

Hello RR0rr, and thank you for the feedback on your Harmony 950. You are correct, the Harmony system is designed to only run one remote for one Smart Hub. I am with you, and I only charge my devices once they are dead. However you can leave the remote in the charging cradle overnight and it will be fine, and fully charged everyday. This remote uses more power with its back-lighting, touch screen and motion controls. All of the fancy tech, in our top of the line model. I am sorry that it was not what you were hoping for. I appreciate you letting me know about your experience. Thank you!

    Nice looking and upgradable

This is a very nice looking replacement for an older Harmony 650. It is upgradable to use with a hub that allows hiding your equipment in cabinets. It can use IR or RF, depending on need and whether you are using the hub. This remote is also sold as a bundle with the hub, but the cost is the same whether you buy them together or separately. I only bought the remote because I already owned an IR repeater for in-cabinet placement. That is probably a less expensive option if you can run a single wire and follow instructions. I only have a couple of complaints. It can be tricky to program certain features on more complicated A/V setups (HDMI ARC and devices that also control each other). And Logitech's preferred programming method involves installing an application on your computer and syncing via a USB cable. That said, once I had it set up properly I was able to program a few special functions to extra buttons. Logitech's telephone technical support was competent and patient. My other issue is that as pretty as the "glass cockpit" is, the touchscreen is not sensitive enough to accept taps reliably, and the virtual buttons are a bit small. If you have problems typing on an iPhone (be honest, now...), then you may have a steeper learning curve than you would want. The tactile buttons all seem to function well. Overall I'm satisfied, but I can't give it 5 stars without better touchscreen function.

The previous Harmony remote controls had the touchscreen in the middle with buttons above and below. This lead to numerous problems when one attempted to reach across the screen to use the buttons at the top. The screen is capacitive. You don’t have to touch it for it to respond. Merely getting close is enough. The old device would constantly do goofy, unexpected things, changing channels or exiting the play back of a recording. This device corrects the biggest problem Logitech had with their touchscreen remotes. It’s still not as good a touchscreen as an iphone. I wish that there were a way to permanently disable their idiotic swipe controls. It is still by far the best universal remote control that I have ever used.

This has become a fantastic replacement for my 5+ remotes. The key feature that swayed my selection of this model was that it will learn from older/off brand remote (like the one I have for an HDMI switch). Programming and setting it up has a small learning curve but the software explains things well. Would recommend. The only con might be it can be ultra sensitive so I've had to get used to how responsive it is compared to the originals.

I had the harmony hub already in place before purchasing this remote. Setup was a breeze, I connected the new remote to my computer, all my activities and devices synced automatically and the remote was good to go. The remote is beautiful and comes with a nice charging base. My only complaint is the touch screen is not the most responsive, sometimes things require multiple "taps" to register. Otherwise the remote & harmony system are a must have for anyone with multiple devices.

Remote to work with system behind walls

Unfortunately this was to Replace our older Harmony Remote 900 which used an RF signal box to go through walls and control our receiver for surround sound, comcast box and DVD player. The salesperson told us the new remote would work with the box, it does not. We recently purchased a hub to plug in the blaster and hopefully duplicate our set up with the new remote. But on a positive note we had our original Harmony remote for over 5 years, worked great. Hoping to have the same luck with the new one.

Easy to set up and customize this remote. Controls 15 devices and you can create many combos for activities. It is also a learning remote if you really want to go customization crazy! Built-in li-po battery. PC app makes setup easy. My only complaint is that the buttons don't feel as good as they should on a remote at this price point. I am able to control all devices in my house with this one remote.

I love these controllers. The setup process is tedious and troublesome if you are setting up more than one remote on your account. Both of which have to do a lot of functions. But overall, I enjoy using them.

So far I haven't had any major issues with this remote. It's a replacement for my Harmony one. The only reason it lost a star is I'm used to having the physical number buttons. So it took some time getting used to using the screen. Other than that it's been working flawlessly it even turns on my X Box One. That alone deserves another star. Highly recommend just give yourself some time to get used to using the screen more and you'll be satisfied.

I had the harmony hub so I could use my phone and alexa to control my system but I like using this remote instead of my phone. I like how all my favorite channels are shown on the screen with the corresponding logo. I'm using it to control a sony tv, maranta receiver, roku premiere+, and a sony blue ray player.

Purchased as a replacement for my previous Harmony Ultimate One remote. Very easy to transfer my settings to the new remote with the Logitech software. In my opinion the biggest improvement made with the Harmony 950 is the relocation of the transport buttons below the touchscreen... so much easier to work with. This newest model feels a bit slimmer then it's predecessor... I personally would have liked to see a slightly larger remote with the buttons a bit larger (especially if you have bigger hands). But overall I like the redesign of the 950... it works well and just plain looks cool!

This is my 2nd Logitech remote in 12 years. It’s a quality product that makes life so much easier when managing my daily entertainment experience. The only drawback is the sensitivity of the screen functions; especially when you have stations programmed. It’s so easy to accidentally change the station when putting the remote down. It can get aggravating when watching a sporting event and you accidentally change stations.

Harmony let's you control your TV with just 1 remote. Quality of the product I am not sure of. The first one we had malfunctioned before one year was up. This one we've only had for a month and the battery runs low very quickly. I don't know if that's normal or not .

This replaces a Harmony 1 remote, that one of the buttons quit working. This my 3rd Harmony I also have the 700. This is as easy as ever to set up. Get the model numbers of your equipment, download the software answer, answer a few questions than put all those other remotes away. What I don't like about this is no number pad. The number keyboard is on the touch screen. A quick swipe will get you to it but it needs to be on the body of the remote.
