You can control all of your components include smart lights and plugs with this remote control! The software is very smart mostly compatible with %99.99 of devices. You don’t need to worry about your components which is placed inside the cabinet! The smart hub will help to transfer all commands to the devices smoothly! Be patient at the first time when you’re programming the remote.

I bought this remote to complement my 75 inch tv and my Klipsch stereo system, however, I can only utilize 50% of the remote. Two, I cannot recommend spending $100 plus for this remote because I still have to use my 3 other remotes in addition to this Logitech Finally, it is not user friendly with the Amazon Fire stick.

I really appreciate this remote, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because after I configure it, some studying is necessary to remember how to use/access the products that are synced with it. This remote allows me to set modes of entertainment that utilize devices that the remote will control seamlessly. However, I don't necessarily have the option to control one device at a time. For example, the Watch TV mode will utilize the TV, and Roku, but if I'm watching a movie on the TV and want to turn on the entertainment system, have to select a different mode, or I have to use the app on my phone to turn on the device, or I have to set the device as one of the colored buttons. Granted, the fact that I already know the resolutions to the problem I just stated should alleviate the issue, but the resolutions create different problems upon implementation. This remote could be much simpler to use if we primarily used the entertainment system, or a sound bar, but that's another resolution that creates different problems. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend this remote, and the hub. I think the hub and remote combo is the epitome of "Teamwork makes the dreamwork", and just like my beloved Dallas Cowboys, not all teams are pristine perfection.

I've been a fan of Harmony for years. Long before Logitech bought them. The concept was always fantastic. Rather than searching for codes and trying to make a device learn IR blasts, all you need to do is tell it your device's model numbers. Everything was great until Bluetooth came along. For awhile, Harmony was lacking. Now they have the Harmony Hub. It solves all the problems. Well... at least my problems. The Hub connects to your Wifi so that you can either use your mobile device as a remote, or one of their devices. This means you can send commands to any device in the house from anywhere. The Hub can blast out IR signals and has two ports for additional IR blasters (although most configurations only come with one IR blaster). The worst part of setting it up is collecting your device model numbers and verifying what inputs are needed on your TV. The setup software used to be a download for your computer but now that Mac OS requires 64 bit, you have to use your mobile device or a Windows machine. The only "complaint" I have is that I cannot find where I am able to select what commands a device gets. For instance, my parents main TV cable box is always on. We never turn it off. When choosing to Watch TV, I don't want the blaster sending an instruction to turn on the cable box. It needs to know to control it but do not turn it on or off. This ability seems to be lacking in the iOS app. If you have many devices and want to consolidate, this is the way to go. I am adding a second Hub to my upstairs viewing area soon.

I was told by a salesman at Best Buy that this unit would do what I asked for it to do which was mainly to be able to go thru Google voice to turn on my tv and to be able to ask it to change channels. I bought it, brought it home and had the Geek Squad come the next day to set it up for us. The fellow told me that the unit could not do what I was told in the store it could do. He advised me to buy another item so I returned this item back to the store. I understand it is a great unit with good reviews, but just not all of the things I needed it to do..

works well, once you get it programmed. I have not completely figured out how to get to Netflix every time as my Samsung TV has a variation in how it comes up on power on. My only criticism is that the response time sometimes is slow with the remote. That is why the 4 starts versus 5. Other than that, good button layout, all the functions I need are there and once you get the hang of the programming functions, not that bad to program.

They work great! They won't work well with huge and complicated systems, but for three function AV systems (cable, audio, CD/DVD) they work fantastically. I have a cable box, and Apple TV, and a Bluray player, and it handled all of the functions, and the best part is this system is wireless. I can be in another room, and control the volume, or other functions. And the receiver has an infrared 'bug' that translates the wireless to the infrared for those many devices that need that. An extra one is available as a separate option. I haven't yet found a device they don't support too, which is nice. No more standing there making sure the device can see the remote. If they still sell this, it's amazing.

We had a Harmony 900 for over 8 years which gave out after being dropped too many times. To replace it, we bought a Harmony Elite which we returned because it did not function like the old Harmony 900 close enough. The Harmony Companion is easy to set up provided that the name and MODEL NUMBERS of all the devices that are to be controlled by this device are collected before setup is started. A setup program must be downloaded from Logitech to either a PC or a smart phone. In MY OPINION, the PC setup is easier. There are three main differences between the Elite and the Companion. The Elite has a rechargeable batteries, has a small color touch screen and the buttons are backlit. The Companion is powered by an easily replaceable "coin" battery that should last about a year, does not have a screen of any kind and has a physical numeric key pad on the unit instead of a touch screen keypad. Both the Elite and the Companion have a smart phone app which can function as an alternate remote.

The remote appears basic and nothing flashy sitting on one's coffee table, It's compact, it's not backlit and there's no LCD screen (which I was concerned about prior to buying). But it's smartly laid out and feels very good in the hand and you can tell it's built to last. It also works extremely well and the hub allows you to not even need to point the remote at it (it works through your internet), just press the button and it works, even in different rooms. Super responsive, and the remote allows me to control my hue lights as well! But the real powerhouse is the hub paired with my google assistant (my home is fully under the nest/google ecosystem, with locks, thermostat, smoke detector and security/camera). It allows me to send voice commands to my tv (sounds hokey but you'll be surprised), but ALSO to set up routines though the google assistant app to turn on my tv,, etc. (I'm trying to still figure out how to get it to turn on my stereo to A SPECIFIC INPUT for my streaming when I say "Hey google, good morning"), But this thing completes my smart home. It's great! I love it. POWERFUL.

I've had a number of Logitech remotes all of which worked really well. I needed a new one for a mix of devices so this is my first with the Companion hub. The online configuration and setup was much more frustrating than usual - config download to the hub and the remote took multiple tries - but once successful they've worked great.

    Cons mentioned:
    Instructions

I bought this to replace a Harmony 550 that I could no longer program, and because of the functionality I could get through Google Home + IFTTT. The programming is relatively simple, but needs knowledge and interest in the technology being controlled. This isn't just plug and play situation, it doesn't automatically detect your setup but does guide you step by step on everything you'll need to do and find. I ran into a couple things that didn't work exactly right due to quirks of my setup. I was able to figure it out, but I assume most will run into something that needs knowledge-based tweaks. After initial setup, and the creation of Actions (turning on multiple devices and switching them to the correct input), you can get into optional customizations for buttons. Since the remote doesn't have a screen, you are limited in the controls you can add to just the physical buttons and long pressing them. There were things I could do before with my 550 that can only be done with the app now. Speaking of which, for real power users, you have to get used to the app. You can't switch to device control mode on the remote, so if you want to do something that isn't part of the current action you have to use the app. The app is good, I haven't really had any problems using it. I could definitely see someone having a cheap tablet dedicated to just remote duties. The actual physical element of the Hub was easy to setup as well. Just plug stuff in and place somewhere that will have a view of every component. I put it on shelving off to the back corner of my living room and it works as well if not better than ever other remote I've had. Since the Hub and IR repeater stay stationary, and the remote simply sends signals to the Hub, you don't need to be aiming the remote at anything, or even be in the same room, to use it. Side benefits: I now have a normal remote control for watching TV and movies on my XBox One, and using Google Home I can start actions just with my voice. Hopefully more fine grained controls will come shortly. If you've already invested in a multi part entertainment system, after the initial setup this can greatly simplify your daily usage. It makes the most complex setups controllable by the tech averse, so it's also great for a family setup. If you want even more customization and control on the remote itself, the jump up to the remote with the full color LCD is expensive but might be worth it.

I’ve setup many of these. They are very easy to program via the Harmony app especially to control 1 room of equipment. All the basic needed functions are on the companion remote and the app offers much more control. This system is great for equipment hidden away in a cabinet or closet and costs less than having to put in a IR repeater system.

My 650 was a true remote. I could operate all my devices with it. Not so with the Companion. I had to have a tech set up a way to operate my Yahama, using one of the red buttons, I can now change inputs buts that's all. My 650 let do every thing that my Yahama remote could. There is no screen to see what you are doing. The only reason for switching is that some of the buttons on the 659 stopped functioning. I thing that's pretty sad because it was only a little over 4 years old. Bottom line it that I am returning the Companion and hoping to find another 650 or maybe a 665. One other thing, the initial purchase was replaced because the volume button did not work on the original. I also do not like the hard touch/soft touch for the buttons that control functions.

Bought 2 of these, one for family room, one for master bedroom, to coordinate BlueStream Tivo, Roky, BlueRay player and sound. Works like a charm and happy to not have to use multiple remotes, like other families I know do. Logitech a favorite tech company for me and my IT Guru, as well as my TV Installer, and we are not disappointed.

replaced 5 remotes right from the start. My AV receiver remote volume control stopped working which prompted me to buy this remote instead of a straight replacememt. Was easier to set than I expected. Tweaking some of the button assignments was straightforward. Wish the buttons were backlit.

Received this remote as a gift and am really enjoying its ease of use and functionality. It is controlling my television, my PlayStation, my satellite receiver and my audio tuner. It does all of these things very well, I am very pleased with this remote.

Was a little tricky to set up, but with excellent assistance from Logitech support, it works like a charm. Much easier to use than pricey controller that this device replaced. Very satisfied with this purchase.
