You will not be disappointed if you buy this Logitech K800 Illuminated Wireless Keyboard! It's an excellent product!! I sometimes type in low-light conditions and this illuminated keyboard is great for me to be able to see the keyboard/keys. The keyboard key lighting comes on automatically when you put your hands near the keyboard to type and goes off soon after removing your hands (to save power). The keyboard has a rechargeable battery and you can just plug it into a USB port on your computer to recharge it while using the keyboard at the same time. On a side note, the keyboard stays lit if it is plugged in if you want the keyboard lights to stay on the entire time. Another great feature is that this wireless keyboard comes with a Unifying receiver. A Unifying receiver (the small piece that plugs into a USB port to receive the wireless signals) can tie in other Logitech wireless devices. So I was able to tie in my Logitech M310 wireless mouse with the K800 keyboard Unifying receiver (so the mouse and keyboard used the same wireless receiver). That freed up a USB port for me to plug in my scanner. I definitely recommend you buy this Logitech K800 keyboard!

    Great light up keyboard!

I've had this keyboard for about 2 months now and all I can say is I'm very impressed. I had been looking for light up keyboards for awhile and always found ones that were either too expensive or became defective after a month. I bought this keyboard because of the great reviews it had an I'm glad I did. The lighting is perfect on the keys and self adjusts if you're in a dark room or a lit room. The back-light automatically turns off after you don't use it for a couple seconds to conserve battery power but also comes back on whenever you hover your hands over it. This is a great feature I've grown to love and over the 2 months I've used it, it still has 3 bars of battery life (out of 3)! I haven't had to recharge this once yet (granted I only use it about 1 hour a day but still!). I'm amazed by the workmanship and attention to detail that this keyboard has. Logitech really outdid themselves with this one and I think a white back-light is the perfect color because it gives the most clarity vs. green, red, blue, etc. Also, the keys are very easy to type with and just flow with your fingers, it makes you want to type fast! If your searching for a great back-lit keyboard, buy this one! You won't be disappointed.

    Not reliable

I've had this keyboard about 6 months. It's always been indoors, never dropped or hardly moved really. Today out of nowhere the number 2 stops working. Since that's in my computer password I couldn't log on. Had to use a different keyboard to login. Once logged in I tried the keyboard again but this time the number 2 acts like it's pressed constantly. I hit escape and it stopped but then started again moments later. Hit escape again it stopped again. Started acting like number 2 was pressed again shortly after. Googled the issue hoping for a solution but in every case I found, oddly a lot of number 2's stuck on these, the keyboard was not repairable and had to be replaced. So I'm of course not happy about that. Cannot recommend to anyone.

This keyboard worked as it should for 10 months...then a few of the keys started typing the wrong characters consistently. SPACEBAR issued a "5", Q issues "qv", M issued an "m" but reset the cursor as it did so to the beginning of the field we were typing in. We didn't damage it in any way prior to this...didn't drop it...didn't spill anything on it, etc. Tried software fixes which didn't work...uninstalled the driver and let windows reinstall it. Ran a virus scan..nothing. Reset the keyboard layout file to default (which is what it was already set to). Nothing fixed it. Currently pursuing a warranty return with Logitech since we didn't buy a Best Buy warranty with it. I would recommend doing that since Logitech takes a while to resolve these things while Best Buy will just swap it out right away or give store credit to get another. I would recommend this keyboard as long as you get the Best Buy warranty with it.

2 keyboards in 3 days, out of the box damaged

First keyboard was great until I noticed the backspace key was getting stuck. It would stick and wipe out everything unless I turned the keyboard off. Returned it after the first day. I had the associate in the store check the backspace key and tap all other keys (while still in the plastic) in the store before I exchanged it. Note: I drove further to a different store for this exchange. So possible this one was not from the same manufactured batch as the first. No issues until I got home last night and see the number 1 key hit the floor upon removing the plastic. I like this keyboard but once the keys pop off, they are broken. They can't be snapped back in to place. I am going to return it and just go with a different brand wireless illuminated keyboard altogether. I didn't want to spend more than $60 but it looks like I have no choice if I want a quality, durable keyboard.

    Some Workable Problems

This is my fault for purchasing the k800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard. Needed to replace my old keyboard and thought this would be an upgrade to the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard which didn't survive the luggage handlers on a recent flight. As for the k800. After establishing sync with the unifying receiver, make sure you have the keyboard turned on before powering up your computer. I've had a problem with the Off/On switch as it could take several tries to actually switch it to On. You'll know it's On as the keys will illuminate. The keystroke seams a little long, If you're typing skills are on the slower side, this shouldn't be a problem. However, if you are a speed typist you'll find this not only difficult but will make your hands feel like they've been through a workout. Will try to find another corded Illuminated Keyboard, but this is still better than a laptop keyboard.

Great board. It works with my IOGear GCS1764 KVM.

After reading all of the reviews that stated that it did not work with the IOGear KVM's I was a bit reluctant to try this board but I love the back lighted keys and feel of the board so I decided to try for myself. At first I had the same results, it would not work, but I then decided to try to remove the Receiver from the Keyboard USB input and place it in the peripheral USB input on the back and it worked like a charm. I had to remove the receiver and replace it for each PC. I switched to each computer on the KVM making sure to hold the selector switch down long enough so that both the "Online Selected" and "USB Link" lights switched to the computer I wanted to use and then pulled the receiver from the back USB and reinserted it so that windows would recognize the new USB device connectected to the KVM and install all of the needed drivers. It took a little work but it was worth the extra effort.

I've been typing since back in the days of manual typerwriters -- over 40 years. I purchased this keyboard since my home office set up doesn't afford much light down on the keyboard for when I need it. Set up was quick and easy. Since I already owned a Logitech mouse with the advanced USB, I was able to pair this keyboard. I let the keyboard charge fully before using the first time. (Note: Why you must charge it using a USB which is almost the same as having a wired keyboard I don't understand.) However, as I am quite a fast typist, once it got down to me actually working on this, I was missing words, formatting, etc. Definitely not a good thing. After speaking with others who have wireless keyboards, they have had similar issues. I returned this and got the wired version instead. It's like butter. My thoughts and notes can be typed in with no problem of missing words or any delay. I love Logitech items -- just not this one.

Picked up this keyboard to replace my K750 solar-powered keyboard. The K750 worked pretty well for awhile with infrequent use, but then wouldn't charge up enough with heavier use (even replaced the battery; it was a light problem, not a keyboard problem). I liked the amount of feedback/resistance of the K750 (closer to a laptop keyboard), so that was a key feature. The K800 is close but with a bit more resistance, which I ended up liking better. The illumination feature is great; the keyboard lights up when you put your hands near it and shuts off automatically, so you don't have to worry about flipping a switch on to use, or off to save the battery. With the unifying receiver, keyboard is very easy to pair and set up in the Logitech software. Battery still seems to have a good charge even with a lot of use; only one bar down on the battery indicator. Took off one star because I had to mash the Backspace button to keep it from sticking right out of the box. Otherwise, quality is what you would expect from Logitech.

    Perfect KB for HTPC

    Posted
    Split

I purchased this keyboard specifically for my HTPC. I can't find fault with it. One reviewer stated that he wanted the back light on all the time if a certain darkness was met, but for my usage, it is perfect. When I'm not using it, i put it on its side against my couch and the light goes off after a few seconds; picking it up, the KB is illuminated before i even touch it. On the box, it listed the battery life to be 10 days. I charged it up fully and haven't needed to charge it yet. I have been using it for over a month and the battery is still 2/3, remember, HTPC usage; of the 5 total brightness levels from off to full, I keep it in the middle. I'm glad that there wasn't a mouse included, as I was able to select a mouse of my choosing (another nano receiver device, of course). The synergy is simply perfect. Handy tip: if using this in your living room, use the included USB extension cable to place the receiver over any coffee table you may have in the way to get the best reception possible; top shelf of my entertainment center works for me.

    Great Job, Logitech!

I have an older Logitech wireless laser mouse which I love that still works perfectly, so my expectations for Logitech products are high. I have wanted a new backlit keyboard ever since I got a Dell desktop with the AWFUL (noisy, cheap) keyboard they sent with it, and when the "a" key became stuck, it was my excuse to finally get the Logitech K800. I love the solid feel of the keys and how quiet it is. The backlit feature is just awesome, and allows me to see the keys perfectly on my low-light desk at night. The keys automatically light when your hand moves near the keys, and the light goes out automatically when you stop and move away, to save battery life. I was worried the cordless keyboard idea could be dicey, but it works flawlessly! Battery will only need charging every few months (and I never even remember to turn it off). If you are worried about anything possibly going wrong, you have the warranty, but you can also buy like 3 years of Geek Squad replacement coverage for something like $10. For me this was the perfect choice and exceeded my expectations! I hope you will love it, too.

The Logitech K800 is my first wireless keyboard, and I still yearn for a wired keyboard. But good value in wired keyboards is hard to find. This keyboard is nice to the touch and the keys have good tactile response. The base provides an adequate wrist support. Although it is a "standard" size, the keys feel a little too close together and I often hit the wrong key. (I have tiny hands!). Also, although it has legs to prop up the back, the legs could be just a little higher for proper keyboarding. The CapsLock key has a light to indicate when it's on, but the NumLock key does not. In Logitech's defense, the software does pop-up with a warning whenever the NumLock key is toggled. I love the illuminated keyboard, it turns on quickly when needed but is not intrusive. The keyboard has an easily accessible on/off switch but I've never had to turn it off. The keyboard holds its charge for well over a week with substantial use and it charges quickly with the included 6 foot USB cable. Overall, it took some getting used to but I'm not disappointed.

I had not noticed the keyboard was rechargeable by USB and does not use traditional batteries like I had anticipated. I checked out specifically the comfort for typing and that it was wireless only. I was concerned how long the battery charge would last. It has been tremendous! I do try to shut the keyboard off at night but often forget. It has gone several weeks before getting low on the charge. I was amazed. It was easy to connect to charge and keep working, too. I don't need the backlighting feature and wish I could turn that off entirely. Every time I start up the computer I just have to remember to dim that feature using Fn+F5. It would be a great feature if I was using it in a dark room. To save battery life I prefer to keep the backlighting off. I wish once I turned the backlighting off it stayed off until I turned it back on. Small annoyance for an otherwise great and comfortable keyboard. I would definitely buy again!! It is quiet and comfortable to use and very easy to connect to my computer.

    Excellent All Around Keyboard

    Snowie44

The best keyboard I've ever owned. While designed to be wireless, it comes with a USB cable (for recharging purposes), which I just leave plugged in all the time. It's nice to have the wireless option there, however. The back light is the whole reason I purchased the keyboard in the first place. The back light is adjustable with five different brightness levels ranging from zero (off) to five (full bright). While unplugged, the back light fades out when your hands leave the keyboard and stays off until your hands get within an inch or so, in which the keyboard lights back up. While plugged in, the back light stays on constantly unless manually turned off. The keyboard itself is very low profile, but still has decent substance to it. It's not too large, but not flat like a laptop either. It's just right. Also comes with a variety of useful function keys as well. While it's not designed as a gaming keyboard (no fancy extra programmable keys, etc...), it definitely works well enough to be used as one, as I do. Worth every penny!

For those who dislike chiclet keys (which I find cause an inordinate number of typos), this wireless in-curve keyboard has a wonderful touch to it with just the right amount of sensitivity. Additionally, it has a backlight feature which goes on each time your hand approaches the keyboard. There are various other shortcut keys to the calculator, screen brightness, multimedia volume, etc., with even more functions available through the FN keys. The battery time on this keyboard has worked well, as it charges through the receiver plugged into the USB port even when it's being used. Furthermore, if it's turned off at night, the battery life is even lengthier. I have not had to manually charge this keyboard at all. (There is a recharging cable included in the package, should the keyboard need to be manually recharged.) Although a little pricey, this is the nicest keyboard I have had in a long time and well worth the extra money.

I needed a keyboard to replace the one that came with the computer I have. It needed to have illuminated keys and being wireless was a definite plus. The feel of the keys as I type felt much better compared to the oem keyboard that came with the desktop. I've only had it for a little over a month and the battery charge indicator is still on the 2nd bar (3 bars = full charge) and I have the keyboard on for an avg. of about 8-10 hours every day with periodic usage. The illumination brightness has different brightness settings and I just use the lowest setting and that is plenty bright for me. The illumination turns off after a second or so when my fingers leave the keyboard and turns back on when it senses my fingers or hand about to start typing. The only negative thing I can think of so far is that the "Num Lock" key doesn't have an indicator so you can't tell if it's locked or not just by looking at the key. Otherwise, even though it's a little pricey compared to other keyboards, this purchase was very well worth it to me.

I love this keyboard! It really is great. I was a little concerned with paying full price for it but it has been worth it, no regrets. I have had it about a month and only have had to charge it once. It does come with a lot of cords for it to be a wireless keyboard but once you hook it all up and figure out what they are all for it does make sense. The location of some of the keys are a little off but you get used to it the more you use it (as with any new laptop or keyboard). This may sound funny (I thought so while reading the other reviews before purchase), but it is nice to type on. I am not sure what it is that makes it so nice but it is, maybe the softness of hitting the keys? The keys are quiet and the backlight is great. It is just as advertised, you can turn it off to preserve the battery life and if you forget, the light goes off and then comes back on when it senses your hands nearby. When the time comes for a new wireless mouse I will probably check out the Logitech one that is Bluetooth compatible with this keyboard.

Wonderful Soft Key Lighted Wireless Keyboard

Had a wired version of this previously and wanted to go wireless. The keys on here are operated with a soft touch and the illumination is wonderful in WHITE. I've tried other back lit keyboards in Blue color and it was difficult to see the keys in lighted and dark conditions. This White is super to see in both light and dark conditions. The only think I don't like about it is that it tries to save energy by shutting off all the time after three seconds of no movement over the keyboard and it immediately starts back on again when it senses movement across the keys which is very fast but I don't like the fact that I cannot see the keys in the dark until I place my hand across the keys for it to detect that I'm going to be typing. It really takes some getting used to, but it's okay that it does that. Wish you could bypass it and just charge it up more often knowing it's going to run the batteries down faster. The size of the keys are great as they accommodate my extra-large hands very well. You can also adjust the brightness of the back light.

I love this keyboard. I was looking around for something with back lit illumination and there weren't many sleek reliable ones out there. Logitech offered a wireless and wired version and I figured wireless might be the way to go this time around. So far the battery life is amazing. I've had it about a month and haven't had to charge it or anything at all. Its very responsive and hasn't missed any key strokes. The back lighting is perfect and allows me t see my keyboard on my desk on the little pull out my desk has. The only, and I mean only thing I can say bad about this is that there is no where to store the little USB receiver on the keyboard. Many of Logitech's mice you can open up the mouse and store the receiver there. I work on several computers so this would have been nice so I wouldn't have any chance of losing the receiver. Although if I do, the receiver is backwards compatible with other receivers now, a technology upgrade by Logitech. So can just use one receiver for multiple devices if I understand it correctly.

I bought this as my keyboard for my living room. My TV and PC are about 15 feet from my couch and i've never had a single missed or lost keystroke. I use the product at least 4 times a week, and other than initially, have only had to recharge it once in over two months thanks to the auto-dim and auto-off features. The low profile is easy on my wrists while typing in my lap, or playing a game. I'd say approx. a half to 5/8 -inch thick across the typing surface. Download Logitech's program SetPoint, and program all your F keys and shortcut keys to do just about anything from opening a specific web page, file, folder or custom menu, to registering a combo-stroke assignment (such as Ctrl+Alt+Delete). The software also allows you to use several (I think up to 7) devices like Logitech keyboards, mice, controllers and headsets using the same receiver, which is minuscule. The music key will open whatever program you want it to, and the track switch, volume, and play/pause buttons work with iTunes, Spotify, Windows Media Player.
