Nice keyboard, could be better for the price

I have been wanting an illuminated KB for a long time and bought this one for myself as a christmas gift..well, to me. The backlighting feature is cool and works great. It lights up only when you touch the keys which saves battery power. That's the good part. The bad part is the design is a bit cheap looking, sorry to say. I wanted the keys to be a bit more recessed and quiet like a laptops keyboard. Also, when I tried to connect it to my work laptop it wasn't recognized. It seems to be married to my personal laptop only which I don't like because I switch between them almost daily. In summary, it's a nice KB which when used only with my personal laptop does exactly what I wanted it to. But, for $100 it should have a sleaker design. Fortunately, I bought it marked down $20. IF I could use it with both my laptops I would have given it a higher grade. Maybe there is a solution to that issue but I don't have time to research it so far.

    Perfect Low Profile Backlit Keyboard

Low Profile keys are perfect for programming or any task. Board height is also slim. Long charging cable allows wired usage if desired. Lit keys stay fully illuminated while wired. When using as wireless, keyboard senses when your hands are removed from the keyboard and illumination turns off - saving battery. Instantly illuminates keys when your hands are sensed near the keyboard. Lights return even before pressing any key. Four lighting levels easily controlled using function key and F5 (lower) or F6 (brighten). Battery level indicator displays charge using 3 bars.

Great keyboard with two minor design flaws

I've had this keyboard for a little over a week and save for two simple complaints, I absolutely love it. I love the tactile feel of the keys and the shortcuts (especially that I can adjust volume and have a shortcut to my calculator now!). My only complaints are that there's no light letting you know the Num Lock is active, and the light letting you know the Caps Lock is active sits at such an angle that you can't easily see it's lit while sitting in a normal typing position. You practically have to look straight down at the key in a normal, well-lit office environment in order to see if the indicator light is illuminated. Granted, when you click the Num Lock or Caps Lock it brings up a notification on the computer screen, but I'd like an easily readable light for those functions. In all, I'd give this keyboard 4 1/2 stars, but that's not an option. My gripes are minor. I'd still highly recommend this keyboard to those looking for an upgrade.

I was shopping for a wireless keyboard for my home pc as I have it connected to my tv in the living room. I was originally shopping for a razer product keyboard but unfortunately they do not make wireless keyboards (why though?). Anyways, I was a bit skeptical about the product due to the price being pretty cheap compared to other gaming keyboards. I have to say I am extremely satisfied with this product. It has all the necessities (-macro button configurations) plus some cool features. I love the fact that it has a backlight sensor so the light on the keyboard will be off when not in use & will light up when it senses movement over the keyboard. The battery life is pretty amazing as well. I have probably only charged it twice in 8 months & I use it daily. All in all, this is a great keyboard for the price whether you are a pc gamer or just need a new keyboard. I highly recommend it.

    Logitech keyboard just stopped working

I was using the keyboard one night and suddenly it just stopped working. At first I could still use the keyboard but the backlight was not on. I tried replacing the batteries twice and nothing. It won't work at all now. I paid a good bit for the ability to have a Bluetooth connection, backlighting and lightweight. Couldn't return it because it lasted just long enough to be out of the window for returns. I'm suppose to return to the manufacturer and get them to replace it, but they haven't done anything to fix the problem. It's the same keyboard. So ended up purchasing another keyboard that plugs into my computer and it's a gaming keyboard. Not what I wanted at all, but it works and it stays lit. There were a lot of negative reviews on the manufacturers website - people had returned the keyboard 2-3 times and the same problems. It's not worth it to deal with it. I just lost a lot of money.

We were searching for a wireless keyboard that is back-lit. There weren't many choices out there, unless you were going to pay a few $100, which is ridiculous. However, we found this one, and are pretty happy. As said before, the keyboard is back-lit, which comes in handier than one might think. I love the feel of the keys, having a firm but "spongy" feel when typing. A bonus that we weren't expecting was that the keyboard is rechargable. So, when the battery is low, you just plug it into the laptop to charge back up, and you're done. So, you don't have to worry about carrying extra batteries or anything. As a bonus on that, the we've owned the keyboard over month now, and use the keyboard pretty extensively throughout the day, but still haven't needed to recharge it! So, kudos on the longevity of battery life too! My only complaint is that the keyboard isn't ergonomic. That's where those $200+ keyboards are nice. For the price, however, the keyboard is really worth the price.

I have bought two of these to date. It's a fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me, scenario. It's a nice wireless keyboard that is backlit which was a must for me. It took forever to charge but held the charge longer than the wireless mice did. The issue is that if the cord doesn't sit just right it doesn't charge. The last time I tried to charge it I plugged it in then went to bed. The next morning it still showed that the battery was low. I adjusted the micro USB cord and about six hours later it was finally charged. I've given up and bought a corded gaming keyboard for half the price and solved the problem.

I use this on my Samsung laptop with Windows 10, this laptop is plugged into my surround sound system so I've always used wireless keyboard and mice. The back lit feature is the main reason I purchased it but it's got easy to use controls for music as well, it works with Zune software(yes I still use it and prefer it to Groove.) as well as the Hulu and Netflix apps. I always have the lights off and the tv is to far to let me see the keyboard clearly so the back lit feature as I said is the main reason I bought. Battery life is great, I've only charged it one time in the last month. The keys feel great and have great response. Well worth the price!!! The software lets you customize some options and easy to use. I did have to down load it from the Logitech website so I could connect my Logitech mouse as well. I often take them to the kitchen which is about 40 feet from where the laptop is located so the wireless connection is strong enough.

I'm not a gamer, but I frequently type (lots of word processing) in a semi-dark environment, so an illuminated keyboard is essential to minimize lots of external lighting. Although provided with LogiTech's "Unifying Transceiver", you have to FIRST download a small piece of software from the LogiTech site and then follow instructions to add on a mouse (which I needed). The wireless capability is a bonus because I can move the keyboard from my desk to my lap if I need the extra desk space to hold an object that I'm working on. The level of illumination (but not the color) is adjustable over a wide range using the built-in Fn keys; my only complaint is that it doesn't remember the intensity settings if you turn off the keyboard. A minor annoyance, but it would be nice if the setting was stored. The keyboard has a nice easy "touch", and feels a bit "soft". However, I can still type at speed (about 65 wpm) without any problem.

    I really dislike this keyboard

I purchased this keyboard because I wanted wireless, and also backlighting. I was concerned about it being rechargeable and having to constantly remember to charge it. I have had other Logitech wireless keyboards that took normal batteries, they lasted a year or more, and I would still prefer them. As it turns out, the recharging isn't the big problem. It is the keyboard itself. The response is slow, and if I type too quickly it skips letters. I find myself constantly having to backspace and fix mistakes for missed letters and spaces. It is at a level of high annoyance, and I am not a fast typist. The backspace is also very slow to react. Often it doesn't react immediately, so when I push it 2-4 times quickly to erase multiple letters, it suddenly jumps back and erases a whole word. I am nearly ready to toss it.

    Great wireless keyboard

I recently got this keyboard and it turned out great. It's comfortable to use, The key back lights are great for using in the dark and there's no need to press any key to turn on the back lights. The keyboard weight keeps it in place so you won't have to switch position. It also has a turn on/off button, so it saves battery usage. It also turns down automatically in case you forget. The only down side so far is that it has a shiny design so you have to clean constantly. It all works perfectly. Another little down side is that you have to connect it with an usb cable to recharge it and have to keep your receiver connected if you're using it and charging it at the same time, so there are 2 usb ports on use for the same device. Overall it's a great keyboard, get one!!

I was hoping to be impressed by this Logitech keyboard, and thankfully I am. The backlit function works quick when you wave your hand over the keyboard, and I never really turn off the keyboard because the battery life is so good. From the store display I wasn't totally sure if the keys were going to be really good or not, but my first impression from using it for real was that it felt like using a high-end keyboard with keys that are easily pressable and comfortable to use. You can toggle the brightness of the backlight and the only gripe I can think of is that the backlight auto turns off fairly quickly and there doesn't seem to be any way to change the duration. It's a very minor complaint as having backlit in the first place is quite helpful. There is a mute, volume control and calculator shortcut button, as well as others which work better than standard or package brand name keyboards. Overall I'm loving it.

I've had one of these boards for a while now, and I just had to get one for my wife. She absolutely loves it. The keys are backlit when you put your hands near the board and turn off automatically after you take your hands away. The keys are quiet and the key movement feels pretty solid for a membrane keyboard with butterfly keys, so any laptop user should be comfortable with this keyboard. The layout is excellent and it works perfectly, with no noticeable input latency, for the games that my wife and I play on our PCs (yes, even FPS games). The unifying receiver is nice too since I only need one USB port to run both my keyboard and mouse. Well worth the price. In fact, I might have to pick up another one to plug into my Samsung Smart TV (yes, I tested it already and both the keyboard and mouse will work on it from a single unifying receiver).

Had a bad day, spilt coffee all over myself and my previous wireless keyboard at the office. So I had to buy a new one in a hurry to do my job. Purchased the Logitech K800 after seeing it at Best Buy (thought it looked nice). This keyboard was so much nicer; I changed it out for my home keyboard. After a few days, I had to get one for the office as well. Keyboard is still on 2 of three bars after a week use (USB rechargeable) Keys feel great when typing (hard to explain, but I never really cared about this before – Sort of like being happy with a ford until you drive an Audi for the first time) Simple to connect and use I now own two of these (one for my home office and one for my office) The only regret is that I didn’t buy one of these keyboards for the home entertainment server.

There are tons, probably literally, of keyboards but very few that have the feel and workability of the K 800. We tried the expensive one with the volume, multi function wheel but it would not hold a charge. The 800 does for a nice long time between recharges. It is bright and easy to see and you can easily vary the backlit key brightness. That's a great feature. Even with 50 plus years experience with touch typing, the light comes in handy in certain functions which is worth it. The keyboard is fast too. No issues with lagging of lethargic action. The only faster keyboard you can get is the hard wired daskeyboard which is among the best I've ever used. Any complaints? Only that the volume and mute buttons are a little on the small side but it's not a big deal. Yes, recommended.

Pros: - It's backlit - Shallow keys facilitate fast typing - Little key resistance also facilitates fast typing - Keys are not very loud - Holds charge for weeks, even when left on 24/7 - Charging port location is unobtrusive - Keyboard can be used while charging - many useful shortcut keys onboard, such as mute, vol up/down, calculator Cons: - 1st gen had issue going dead after a few months, but that has been fixed - typing characteristics mentioned above may not be everyone's preference - Tilt toggles could be a bit longer for greater tilt I've tried dozens of keyboards at home and work, include several different models after I accidentally spilled a full cup of coffee in my last k800. I tried gaming keyboards from three different companies, a couple other logitech keyboards, and a microsoft keyboard. None compared to the k800 regardless of price. This is my favorite keyboard ever.

Getting together a desktop replacement system using a laptop, I needed a quality keyboard that would NOT utilize the bluetooth of my laptop (I needed to reserve this for other purposes). This keyboard has a tiny dongle that plugs into one of your USB ports. The good news is that it utilizes radio, and not bluetooth, bad news is that it takes up one of your USB slots. The keyboard is backlit and detects motion. So if you pass your hand over it, it lights up. It detects the amount of light needed based on the light in the room. It lasts a long time (days, depending upon usage) and has a micro USB recharging cord to your computer USB. It has an on and off button on the keyboard to save energy and increase usage time. Full numeric keyboard, comfortable keys. There is no touchscreen pad on this keyboard, which is a minus. But if you can live without that, this keyboard is great.

I have used illuminated keyboards from Logitech before and have been very happy with them. When I spilled coffee on the last one, it kept working, but decided it was time for a new one anyway. My older keyboards were wired while the K800 is wireless. It shares the same USB port as my Logitech mouse which frees up a USB port. I love the smooth quiet feel of the keyboard. Since my PC is in a darker area of the room, I absolutely love the illuminated keys. They do turn off when I am not typing (I suppose to save on the battery), but they quickly light up when I place my hands over the keyboard. I don't find that to be an issue. Battery life seems good so far, even if I often forget to switch off the keyboard at night. I'm very glad I chose the Logitech K800 keyboard at Best Buy!

I purchased this keyboard as a replacement. Yes, I had this keyboard before and destroyed it after 3 years of use. Unfortunately, I ate and drank at my computer desk too many times and eventually ruined. Each time I did it came back to life after a few days. The last time was just too much. When I was in the market for a new one, I decided to see if Logitech had anything better. For me, the answer was no. I love the feel of the keys and the key sound. The touch is amazing. But the best thing about this keyboard is that it's illuminated. So many times, I use it at night and with this capability I don't have to disturb anyone else in the household by turning on lights. This time around I will take more care to make it last longer. When I looked online for pricing, Best Buy had the best price. It was $30 off or a total of $69 instead of the normal $99. You can't beat this keyboard in my opinion.

So far, I've been trying to find a good wireless keyboard to do a bit of pc gaming on my 4k TV. I looked at a few higher priced ones and even the corsair gaming one. None really FELT as good as this one, BUT. My conclusion after using it is.. the keys, however great they feel while typing, are a little "sunk in" I believe it makes it so it's better for typing. Honestly though, even that is a tedious thing for me on this keyboard. Gaming was worse though, i couldn't find my way back to asdw as easily as when I'm on my logitech mechanical gaming keyboard. The connectivity is great, the illumination is great, it even lights up when i move my fingers over, however it also is kinda annoying at the same time. Guess I'm just really picky.
