The Logitech Litra Beam light is very versatile. Using the threaded inserts and the tilt, the light bar can be positioned vertically or horizontally - facing front, back, up, down or anywhere in between. The base is quite heavy which gives the light stability. The back of the lightbar has buttons to adjust both the brightness (from 2700 - 6500 Kelvin) and the temperature (cool to warm). The height easily adjusts to anywhere between 14 to 24 inches. I found the tilt to be very stiff. I had to grasp the light with two hands and pull hard to get the tilt to move. The light is powered by a USB-C to USB-A data cable that can either be plugged into a computer or if connected by Bluetooth, into a wall adapter. There is a Bluetooth connect button on the lightbar and the connection was easily made in the “Bluetooth and Other Device Settings” function on my PC. Once the light was assembled, I found it difficult to see the power and adjustment buttons - especially when in the horizontal position. However the power, temperature and brightness adjustments can be made using the app, so there is an alternative method if the buttons are out of sight/reach. There are 4 cable management guides on the lamp and base to help keep the USB cable out of the way. Any excess cable can be threaded around the inside of the base. I haven’t been able to get the cord to stay in the guide that is on the light itself. The cable stays in the other guides OK - until I reposition the light bar the slightest bit. Then the cabling has to be undone and redone. There should be a better way to do the cable. Maybe running the excess cable down the interior of the stand or through rings on the outside of the stand that loosely hold the cable. I did have some trouble with the G Hub app which was no surprise. Every Logitech app I’ve used has some quirks. If I go to the Start menu and find the Logitech G Hub app, clicking on it doesn’t do anything. I have to right click, go to More and then Run as Administrator. The G Hub software is an interesting concept. I only have the G hub light, but the Logitech G gear mice, keyboards, speakers and headsets are also compatible. Once they are connected in the software, the lights and keys on the devices can be customized and coordinated or even synchronized to music. Profiles can be created so that a device can function one way at a workstation and another way when gaming. The Litra Beam light is pretty amazing. The pros are that It is small and easily fits on a desktop. It is extremely bright and flexible. The cons are that the power and adjustment buttons are very hard to see and that the cord has to be reinserted in the guides any time the light is adjusted.

Great way to elevate video quality

The Logitech Litra Beam has been a great way to elevate the quality of my videos as well as my Zoom calls. The best part of the Logitech Litra Beam is the total control I have over the lighting in my videos. I can adjust the light beam to be either horizontal or vertical. This is great for focusing the light where I need it. I can also adjust the brightness and hue of the light-which helps me to feel more confident on camera and create my best look. Oh, and did I mention I’m able to adjust the light stand to sit between about 15 inches to 25 Inches depending on what suits my setup! In the past, trying to create my desired lighting was always a struggle or simply impossible. But Litra Beam allows the ability to create perfect lighting instantly and conveniently. It is a very sturdy light due to the circular base being quite heavy duty. This makes it great for sitting on your desk or other busy areas. It will not tip over easily. However, due to the heavy duty base, this light is probably not ideal for frequent transport as far as taking it on the go. The Logitech Litra Beam has a sleek and modern design. It does not take up much space for how powerful of a light it is. It is simple to set up and easy to use. For assembly I simply connect the base to the stand, and the stand to the light. And I operate the light on the logitech app. There are buttons on the back of the light you can use to operate. However I prefer the app so that I can set the light out of arm’s length and still turn it on very easily. Before I had the Logitech Litra Beam, I would spend so much time messing with my lamps and curtains to create the perfect kind of light. Being able to save that time and energy (and frustration) definitely makes every penny worth it for the Litra Beam. Now I am able to better spend that time and energy on the content of my videos because I know my lighting will always be perfect. And for my job, I always need to do Zoom meetings. It has been great to sit down at my desk at a moment's notice for a zoom meeting with a client and know my lighting will be bright and professional at any time. The right lighting helps me appear in better focus on camera. And because of the Litra Beam and the great lighting it provides, I have received much better engagement from my clients and audience. Getting the Litra Beam is a small and inexpensive way to create a big impact on the overall quality of my videos. The lighting on the Logitech Litra Beam creates an effect on my videos that looks professional- even if I am not someone who creates videos professionally and I don’t do anything to edit my videos! Having great lighting is probably the easiest way for my videos to be better without doing too much. So the Litra Beam has been a real lifesaver when I’m needing to make a quick but high quality video.

The Logitech - Litra Beam Premium LED Streaming Key Light looks relatively basic but it is anything but. The design and utility of this light far exceeded my expectations. First off, the light and the base are sturdy and feel like they are both very well made. The collapsable arm makes it very easy to situate the light in the best place for your streaming set up. I placed the light just behind my desktop computer's main display, just above the webcam attached to my monitor. The light is bright but not harsh and really makes people, plants, and items have a beautiful and clean colorful look. I was concerned at first as the brightness of the light seemed intense, but it allows for multiple lighting settings/techniques for the perfect amount of light. One notable plus for this light - it is very, very easy to use, move, set up, and place just about anywhere. The cord is roughly 4-5 feet long for use when streaming a YouTube (or similar) video but not so long that it becomes cumbersome when using it with a laptop/tablet. I primarily use this light for YouTube video tutorials and video meetings. I asked colleagues about how I looked along with my surroundings and the feedback was all very positive. The light generates a low amount of heat but not so hot that you can't touch/adjust it. My only concern is there is some audible feedback when I use the Litra Beam too close to my M1 Max MacBook Pro's webcam. I was able to eliminate the feedback on my end, but people viewing videos and or on meetings with me did mention there is a notable hum. Otherwise, this is a great investment for streamers, Vlogers, web meetings, and everything in between. Highly recommended

This is honestly one of those things that you don't really appreciate until you have it. The setup was intuitive enough. I define intuitiveness as "can I assemble it without consulting the directions?" If you find yourself needing guidance, they do conveniently print the instructions on the inside flap/lid of the box. Assembly went on without a hitch. I do wish there was more cable management spaces along the backside of the light, but I understand that maybe there were challenges with this when the light is fully extended. Operation is just as easy. BONUS - I discovered you can repurpose one of those old Apple 12W power adapters and connect this directly to the wall, although you lose the ability to control the light from your PC/Mac. What made me discover this? I was downloading the app from the Logitech website (and this was the only part of the instructions I had to consult the inside of the box on because it's not very clearly listed on the Support website - maybe because it's new). After running the installer, the first popup I get says that Logitech wants permission to record my screen? I get that this is for content creation and maybe depending on how you create content this could be beneficial (i.e. a gamer), but I don't feel comfortable installing an app and the first thing that pops up is for invasive permission to use my computer especially when a use case has not been previously established. Outside of that the operation of this light has been like a dream. It's the perfect brightness - and at that it's adjustable. The tone of the light is adjustable so it can be warmer or cooler. You can turn and extend the light, which gives you flexibility on different angles you may need lightning. All-in-all they put a lot of thought into this. The only function I haven't been able to figure out on my own is how to extend the length (or height) of the light. Lastly, the one thing that just really bugged me about this - USB-A is really sunsetting. And the part that plugs into the actual light is USB-C. It would've made this so much better to utilize USB-C to USB-C and as I typed that, I ran and grabbed a USB-C to USB-C cable and charger and can verify that you can wall power this over USB-C as well. It would've been nice if this was included or at least easily called out so that you know this product is future-proofed in a way as well. Outside of that when the light is mounted horizontally, I wish there was more stability at the point where its able to turn vertical. It's screwed all the way in and just feels really flimsy. Other than those minor things. A great product, overall.

I find the Litra Beam is very modern looking and takes up minimal space. After opening you will notice the assembly instructions are on the lid of the box, which are very helpful might I add. It took about 1 min to assemble. Build quality seems fine. Its pretty sturdy. The base is heavy enough to hold it up. It telescopes up and down and the head swivels. It can be assembled in a few different configurations to fit almost any desktop placement. I know its advertised as light for streaming or content creators but honestly its overall also a really good desktop light. I was afraid it wouldn't be that bright but after using it for a few days I can tell you that is no longer a concern. Unless you need to be blinded by light I would say one is enough to do the job. It says it can get up to 400 lumen which is about half a normal sized lightbulb. I noticed it does get brighter if you plug it into a usb power brick. The light seems to be diffused in the housing pretty well too. Colors range from very cool blueish bright light to a very warm yellow light, and everything in-between. Great for video conferences, photo shoots, live streaming, video recording, and just simply lighting up your desk area. You can use it with Logitechs G HUB Software which extends its functionality. You dont need the software to operate but you do get more control of it once you install. It allows you to control the light and has some default configurations you can use. I think this is what really separates it from its comparable products and justifies its price point. Overall I think its a very versatile light and I really like it. For a light, it has a lot going for it. If you want a desktop light that has different color options and can be app controlled then this is a fantastic option. Logitech has always made great products and this light is no exception to that.

Logitech - Beam into the light!

THIS… is the Logitech Litra Beam, Logitech's next entry to its “Litra” lighting category, and the big brother to the Logitech Litra Glow (the only other light in the “Litra” family…for now). The Litra Beam is a slim lightbar that fits onto its stand/base (or any 3 ¼ fitting which is pretty industry standard) in three different positions - which Logitech calls its “innovative desk mount.” You can control the temperature (2700k-6500k) and brightness (up to 320 lumens) of the light in two ways - through the physical buttons on the light or through its really well-put-together desktop app, which Logitech calls ghub. This is a really well-built and well-priced key light… so let's cut into it. Lighting- This is why we are allllllllllll here! - The light is actually a great setup, being a lightbar, you get an even spread across your face or “target” vs something more direct and harsh. I wasn’t able to white wash my face or cause any unsatisfactory remarks on my face and I really tried. The output on the light is shown very well in the app and you are able to see if you are pushing the light to 100% or limited by your power source. I found the buttons to change the lighting temp well laid out, but I found it much easier to change it in the app or via macro on my keyboard (which the app supports). Bluetooth - Lets talk about Bluetooth. Largely, I don't see the point in this. This product requires power from some sort… most likely a computer but also could be from the wall. At which point in time would you need key lighting controlled remotely but also in close proximity where you couldn't just touch the light or control it through your laptop/computer but Bluetooth would be applicable? I find this to be such a small to negligible use that I am confused why it is a feature… this is possibly just my narrow-minded thoughts… but if it is useful to you CONGRATS it has Bluetooth. Photobiological LED safe - What is this might you ask? I too, prior to this product, was relatively unaware that the LED’s I was using to light my face up could be harmful to not only my eyes but also my skin. The Logitech Litra Beam (and glow) are certified to be Photobiologically safe after 12 hours - meaning that the new way you just found out your lighting could be hurting you - won’t actually hurt you with this light (and the whole “litra” family) which is very cool… and scary that I was unaware! A big +1 to Logitech on this one. Build - The Litra Beam is encased in a nice matt black plastic housing, hoisted on a well made pole and weighted metal base. I have seen some referencing the housing as cheap or less than ideal - however, this is a lighting product that could get hot over use. You don’t want heat transferred into the housing of the light in a way that could burn the user - especially if this item is to be mobile and easy to set up anywhere for any occasion. After all, most lighting products in and above this price category - if not all - are in a plastic housing. Complaints - The power cord this comes with is somewhat short, especially for being an accessory to a computer that could be placed anywhere. That being said, it is a USB-C port so it isn’t the biggest hassle. The only other gripe I had was that you couldn’t wall mount the stand or offer a wall mount for the light. I am a freak when it comes to wall mounting things (seriously, if it can go on a wall and look good it is ON A WALL) and this light is going to require me to go and buy something to do just that. I wish the wall mount just had a few passthrough holes to do this. Conclusion - I was generally shocked at how good this was for just $100 - which sounds expensive - but, considering the market and its competitors, is actually a steal. While it might not get as bright as other products (more expensive), it does exactly what it needs to as a key light. I loved this product and the intuitive app that Logitech has built to support it. As always, BestBuy has excellent customer service and return policy, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like.

The Logitech Litra Beam is a neat little light. The base is sturdy and built well. The height adjustment is simple and easy with no buttons to push. You just push or pull the stand up and down for adjustment. The Light itself gets bright enough to light any desk area. This can make a nice secondary key light. There are three mounting screws so you can mount it in multiple ways. Controls are on the back that has a positive click so you know when you hit them. Great cable management on the back to hide the cable away. The quality of the Litra Beam feels durable. You can download the software to control the light via USB-3. But the light would not connect via Bluetooth. I tried it on multiple computers. Which was fine since I prefer manual controls. The software to control the light was simple also. You can manage the temperature and brightness. Overall this is a nice design for a very compact light. That doesn't take up much desk space! The beam of the light isn't harsh at all. It is subtle and not overbearing. No eye straining also. Overall, a fantastic light.

Bright and Flexible Light for your Zoom/Webex/Etc.

This is a super useful light to add additional lighting to your Zoom/Webex/Teams/etc. video conferences - and for those that aren't familiar, improving your lighting is perhaps the single most important step that you can take to improve your video quality. The key word here is "flexibility" - this light is flexible in many ways. First, in the type of light that it generates - it can generate a broad range of light "temperatures" from a very warm (i.e., yellow) light to a very "daylight" type of light (white/blue) and anywhere in between. It also has a broad ability to adjust brightness - it can be very bright or very dim (but still on) and ANYWHERE in between. And the adjustment is easy - via software OR via buttons on the unit (so you don't need to install the software if you don't want to). The stand / mount is also very flexible. You can adjust the height and angle of the light/stand quite freely and the angle as well - and the light itself has standard screw threading to be mounted in many different positions or even using a different mount. The whole package is well-thought out - per Logitech's usual polish and quality, this is definitely representative of their usual workmanship and attention to detail. I'm actually using it without the software (just using the buttons on the back and have it plugged into a standard USB-A power block) so I can't comment on that, but my other experiences with Logitech software have always been positive, so I imagine this would be as well. Overall, if you find yourself on a lot of video calls - or you're a content creator - light is king and this is an awesome light - so I can highly recommend it!

When it comes to quality streaming gear, there's not that many options. You can get some cheap devices from shady manufacturers, but you'll soon realize that even in this somewhat new market, you need to stick with established companies who have decades of experience. Logitech is one of them and it comes as no surprise that they deliver great gear, relying on their experience in the field. The Litra Beam Premium LED Streaming Key Light with TrueSoft is one of these new devices. You might wonder how a simple looking light can become a great addition for streamers. Think of photography or cameras on a set. The lighting has a major effect on the resulting footage. Serious streamers have realized the importance of light sources. And it's with this in mind that I added the Litra Beam Light to my setup. This device is one of the most customizable options available. The base is heavy and solid. It won't come crushing down on you. The main arm's height can easily be adjusted and the light bar itself can be attached vertically or horizontally, giving you the ability to set it up the way you need it to be. Manual control buttons are recessed and easy to use: on/off, light intensity and warmth. The light is fed power through a single type-c to USB connector. I'd like to point out that there are guides to attach the cable and to make it look nice and clean. The light can also be controlled another way: through its cable. Note that you will need a USB 3.1 gen 2 plug to your computer in order to allow the companion app to work properly. You can then start setting up individual lighting scenarios which can be changed with a simple click. A precious and smart way to adjust your lighting quickly. It's a big time saver. The light itself can be bright enough to replace a light house in Norway, or soft enough to create a pleasing ambient lighting. Note that this light does not do RGB and that is actually a good thing as it isn't just a gadget. I do believe that Logitech has done a great job with the Litra Beam Light. It's aimed at serious streamers who want to take full control of their scenes. It's a no-nonsense device with quality in mind, and with only a small footprint on your desk. I think that the price is justified as it's a valuable asset to obtain more professional results. I can only recommend it.

The light is highly recommended, for ease of use, no batteries, adjustable height/angle/brightness/color of white. Being USB powered (a USB-A to USB-C cable is enclosed; the light has a USB-C socket for powering) there are no batteries to wear out in the middle of a Zoom or FaceTime call. The series of LEDs has a diffusion cover that smooths out the light and dampens any harshness. The brightness of the light is adjustable, but the maximum lighting is somewhat variable depending on whether it is powered from the computer versus a wall adapter, being noticeably brighter with the wall power. The light has 3 different mounting sites to the stand, for a horizontal at 90º to the stand or towards the ceiling 180º to the stand or having the light bar in a vertical orientation, parallel to the stand. The light can be adjusted using the Logitech G Hub app, which is available in Windows only and built in to some Logitech keyboards and mice. Nothing having these, I was unable to try out the app. The build quality is excellent, with the plastic components fitting well, and the raising and lowering of the height, although not overly smooth sliding, is secure and stable. The base is adequately robust to not wobble or tip over easily. The appearance is sleek and modern. The control buttons on the upper surface of the light are easily adjusted (on/off, color temp of the white, and brightness). My most used function for the light was for FaceTime calls on my MacBook. I had the Litra Beam in a horizontal orientation above the laptop screen, raised up enough that I wasn't staring into the light to face the webcam lens. The light has a built in series of attachment spots for routing the power cable to keep the cable from inadvertently getting caught on objects or by your hand moving around the desktop. I have also used the light for illumination of video recording of items on the desktop, both for presenting of images and objects and recording of crafting techniques for my wife's sewing videos.

    Best Light On The Market

I’ve had this light for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it. I’m constantly on zoom meetings for work and church so this light was very much needed. It will replace what I previously had. Though the lighting is the best I’ve experienced with a product like this, the best thing about this light is its flexibility. I love how the arm is adjusting to almost any height you’d like. If you want to adjust it high just pull the arm up or if you want it low just push the arm down. This will help with all types of sizes of computer monitors. Whether it’s big or small this light can adjust. Next, is the light bar. I’ve gotten compliments on how great my lighting looks on zoom meetings. The light beam allow you to adjust how you look on camera. 5 different brightness settings and 5 color temperature settings. You can cycle through a cool temperature look or a warm temperature look all at different brightness settings. So you can adjust it as you see fit. You can also adjust the light beam many different ways to help with you set up. You can install the light beam vertically or horizontally. (I have it set vertically) There’s a few notches on the light beam and the adjustable arm to keep the power cord in place. You just have to watch it when you’re adjusting the arm because the cord may fall out. If there was one thing I didn’t like (which doesn’t take away from this at all), is that the power button and charging input is on the light bar. I almost wish these two things were in the base some kind of way. That way the cord won’t get in the way. NOT a big deal at all. I would encourage you if you are looking for a streaming light to consider the Litra Beam. This has to be the best streaming light on the market. Logitech just keeps getting better and better. I have a couple of their other products and I love those also.

TLDR; While expensive, this light is more accommodating to my specific needs than anything else I have tried, allowing a much more flattering and even-toned light than my decorative desk lamp, and because of it's multiple assembly options, can fit on my very tight WFH desk setup and still allow me to center the light. When the video streaming stops and I'm back to work, it serves as a nice work light that is able to quickly switch back and forth between my needs. FULL REVIEW My video streaming is mostly for work when I'm not in my office. My work-from-home setup is small and not very well lit. It's also in the living room, and while it's off to the side, I try to keep the decor, including the lamp on the desk, in tune with the decor of the living room. The lamp on the desk is suitable for working, but it doesn't do much for the video conferencing. My little "square" is always the dark one because either I don't have the light on at all and I am only illuminated by the computer monitor, or the lamp is on and then my little square looks orange. This Logitech Litra Beam light appealed to me for three main reasons: - It could be run off USB, meaning I could easily remove it from the desk when I stopped working. - It had multiple ways to set up the light to accommodate my very small work space. - The adjustments made it easier to produce a nicer light to work by than my lamp (my lamp is more of a decor piece than a practical lighting device). USB POWER This lamp does consume a lot of power. I tried using it with my Macbook Pro (with a USB C to USB A adapter) and the light achieved full brightness. Not so much with my company-provided laptop, which is a lower-end machine. This was not too much of an issue as I have a surge protector with USB ports that I was able to plug this light into. This was also better than the USB on my laptop which seems to output inconsistent power and I felt like the light was flickering a little (but not sure because I couldn't see when I looked directly at the light. The downside - I lost the use of the app to control the lighting. That didn't bother me terribly as the buttons on the backside of the lamp have 5 color options and 5 brightness options, so I could still find a combination that worked for me. Also, while the buttons are on the back of the lamp (not the most convenient place), they are actually easy to identify. The power button is round, and the color and brightness are "oval" (more like "pill" shaped, but definitely different). They require a little bit of force to press, so you know when you've actually pressed the button. I quickly memorized where each button was located and could operate them by touch. MULTIPLE CONFIGURATIONS IN ASSEMBLY The multiple ways this light can be setup was huge for me. Since my workspace is small and not very deep between myself and the wall, the light stand base was best placed next to my laptop, not behind it. However, being able to assemble the light to stretch across the top of the laptop screen allows me to position it for the most flattering light, which prevents weird shadows on my face. Most lighting of any type that I have tried still had to go to the side of my laptop, but then I couldn't center the light and depending on the ambient light in my living room, could look really weird. By the way, the USB cable used to provide power to the light plugs directly into the light, so it is possible to use this light without the stand at all if you have circumstances where that might be desirable. I experimented with using the light in both a vertical and horizontal assembly. Ultimately, I preferred the horizontal setup based on what I have described and my ability to center the light. However, in certain environments, such as more professional streaming, I could see the vertical assembly being much better, especially if you have two lights, because it's also easier for the light to remain in your peripheral vision, something that always bothers me with any kind of video lighting. I'm just on work conferences, and trying not to have the darkest video compared to my colleagues who are either under fluorescent lighting or just in better WFH setups than I am. Regardless, for me, the difference I saw was impressive. I felt like I was in a studio compared to the lighting I had previously. And even if I turned the brightness down to give my eyes a break, the middle level still looked much better than what I had before! DUAL PURPOSE Finally, this light serves a dual purpose for me. When I'm off video and back to work, turning it down to a lower brightness and tilting it downward provides a nice light to work by. I'm again able to angle it to reduce shadowing, and the light is soft, so it's easier to read off of papers or make notes Then I'm able to quickly refocus the light and toward me and make some brightness adjustments, and I'm ready for the next video meeting. If my setup was more spacious, I'm not sure if I would be willing to spend this much, even though it is a flexible lighting solution that produces a much better lit video conference. However, I do believe that the lighting that it produces and the options it has are a step above some of the other options out there for even a professional environment and provides a sleek and professional look to a studio setup.

Overall I think the Litra Beam is a good light. I like the different brightness and warm/blue levels. Both are very easy to set on the back of the light. There are 5 preset steps or you can hold the button down on either to fine tune. Logitech's G HUB desktop app also helps to dial these in. I do wish that there was an app on the phone to do the same thing. I don't always plan on having the light connected to a computer when I use it. I like the diffused light it produces. I still have to place the light just right because it will reflect in my glasses but it's not as harsh as just a regular light. My plan for this light was to be more all purpose and I wish Logitech made it a little more robust in the positioning. It looked like a perfect light for photographing products with all the setting options and diffusion. As I hoped it is but the problem is getting it into the right position on the stand to be able to do that. Having more positions would allow it to double as a regular desk lamp too. A great detail that Logitech included was cord management. There are a lot of places to clip the power cord to keep it out of the way. I wish it came with a wall wart because I'm starting to run out of them but I understand they are just planning on you going directly to the computer USB. I would recommend this especially for streaming. Being able to fine tune the warmth of the light helps you capture a good skin tone so that you aren't washed out while trying to eliminate shadows.

Solid light although you may want to invest in a bit higher end tech if you wear glasses.
