One of the best portable mice. Note the size.

This mouse works great. No drivers to manually install, just plug it in to ANY Windows PC (probably Linux and Mac too, though I haven't tried Mac and have only tried a couple Linux installations) and after a few seconds of automatically installing the basic driver it's good to go. Buttons have a great feel. Slide pads underneath are low friction and work well on nearly every surface. Optical sensor works well too and there are very few surfaces you can't mouse on...I have been using these mice (about 6 of them) on different PCs, in different places, on different surfaces, for several years now and they're all I buy for portable wireless mice. Note that I said PORTABLE. This is my only complaint with these mice...they are a little on the small side. At a desk where the mouse is not going to travel but will just stay there all the time, I have instead opted for a full-size wireless mouse. But these (about 3/4 the size of normal mice) are just slightly less comfortable and efficient to use than a full-size mouse. The obvious advantage is that it takes up less space in your backpack, laptop bag, or wherever else you transport your gear. But also keep in mind that my hands are on the big side...a little larger than average for a man's hand...so for me to use these for several years with little trouble means it should work fine for most people most of the time. But of course, everyone has their personal preferences. I've been good with it. And no stars off for size (of course) because it's SUPPOSED to be a portable laptop mouse, it's SUPPOSED to be smaller than normal. If that's not okay with you, buy a larger one. Overall GREAT product though. And by the way, battery life is excellent and no random disconnects. Final note, I haven't used them for controlling a PC across the room (like a HTPC or something) so I can't comment on range distance.

    Great, inexpensive wireless mouse

I know the other reviewers wanted an extra button or two, but I fall into a different camp. As an avid Mac user, I have never until now even considered a non-mac accessory. But after having non-Mac mice at work with our Macbook Pros, I actually got used to having a wheel and a second button. Being that I have always used a simple one button mouse, this actually is more than I am used to and I don't desire any more than what is here. I am quite used to the key commands for zooming and the like. I really like the size of this thing, too. It's really comfy in my hand. Seems like it was the only one in the store that wasn't tiny. I have large hands and the small ones just aren't enough to hold onto. I also like the wheel compared to the Mac mouse. The Mac mouse's tiny little roller ball stopped working after just a few weeks. The I bought another and the same thing happened. The usb antennae is great. It can actually sit a lot further from my computer and still work than the one at work (I don't remember that brand). It sits a few feet away in a USB hub. The one at work I have to have directly in front of me to work. All this being said, it was also 20 bucks. I would definitely recommend this mouse. I plan on getting another so one can stay at home on my iMac and one can go with me for my Macbook Pro.

I have purchased Logitech mice in the past and haven't ever been thrilled with them. I have always been an avid supporter of Logitech products, but it seems many of their mice don't perform any better than say a standard Dell optical mouse. This mouse has definitely changed my opinion, and now I can recommend newer Logitech mice to my friends and family. I'll give you some background on me; I am an avid computer user, I build them, fix them, rebuild them: just about everything you can do with one- I do it! I am also a gamer, I enjoy gaming and sometimes I get quite into it and a lot of times my equipment doesn't last long enough because of how often/much I use it. This mouse has been great so far, and has definitely exceeded my expectations. It fits great in my hand, has had no connection issues to/from my computer, and doesn't interfere with any other devices in my house running on the 2.4GHz frequency. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a new wireless optical mouse. I only have two complaints; it doesn't have side-to-side scrolling, as my other Logitech mouse does, nor does it have additional buttons (not a big deal, but useful). GREAT JOB LOGITECH!

I purchased this mouse when the Apple trackpad broke down after years of use. I wasn’t ready to drop $150 on a new trackpad so I needed a quick solution. I visited the local Best Buy and was told by a helpful member of the computer department that this Logitech mouse would basically take care of all the browsing, navigating, and scrolling as needs and would operate without issue with a Mac and he was right. Even on a mouse pad that’s a little bit rough and over a decade old the mouse is quick, accurate, and very responsive and produces a satisfying clicking sound with a metallic edge that lets you know that you are highlighting and pinpointing whatever you need to and that you can click with confidence and there is no lag whatsoever. The pre-installed battery should be good for a year before replacement is needed and this is Wireless USB based. I definitely recommend this mouse for those who do not need a trackpad right away for their Mac and just something simple and accurate to navigate with.

I got this mouse on sale during Black Friday. Needed something wireless and fairly portable to carry with my laptop. I got the flame red color and it looks great. The mouse is just the right size, not like many of the very small (portable) mice, but big enough to be quite comfortable in my hand (adult male). The left & right buttons have a nice, crisp click to them, but not too loud. The scroll wheel has a slight "click" for each little roll of the wheel instead of one that rolls smoothly. I prefer the kind that have this slight click to them, so this one is perfect. There's a slot inside the battery compartment for the wireless USB dongle if you prefer to store it in there when not in use. It also came with a battery (1 AA). There's also an ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the mouse. I've been using it for a month now and don't have any complaints. It's a very nice mouse for the price.

(Pros) Easy to grip for high levels of control while gaming or doing photo editing. Rubber sides are a nice anti-slip texture. No side buttons near the thumb to accidentally click. (I don't need extra buttons, so this is a big win for me). Longer, narrower form factor that fits well in a narrow hand while still supporting the palm of the hand. Many other mice are designed for large hands shaped more like huge paws, or they're so small only your fingertips rest on them. (Both designs lead to hand fatigue in the wrong hand). Micro receiver dongle that stores inside the battery compartment. My previous similar model Logitech mouse had a big USB receiver you could easily misplace.(Hence replacing it!) Only takes one battery, vs the old Logitech version's two. This means it's more energy efficient and lighter in weight. Does not feel flimsy. Quiet mouse wheel and clicking. Does not sound like a cheap $5.00 mouse, but it is much less expensive than the "twin" model of mouse this replaces. (Cons) None yet.

    Terrible mouse

I've must have used at least 30 to 50 different optical mouse in life, never have I seen one this bad. Here's why... There are 4 small pads underneath the mouse, one in each corner. And interestingly enough, they had to make them uneven, top right and bottom left corner pads are a bit thicker than the top left and bottom right corners. So the mouse keeps rocking back and forth as you use it. If you have ever been to a restaurant where the table legs are uneven, than you know what I'm talking about. Double-clicking sometimes doesn't register because the mouse always rocks back and forth after each click. Just terrible to try to work with this mouse. Now for $10, I'm not going to make the trip back to the store to return or exchange it, so I'm gonna keep it, but I'm very unhappy with it. Maybe I'll buy some tiny padding to pad the four corners of the mouse to make it even, so it doesn't rock back and forth after every click.

    Long range, Linux compatible

I was looking specifically for a wireless mouse and keyboard with a long range to use from across the room. This mouse worked flawlessly from 20 feet away. Additionally, I run Linux, where hardware compatibility can be an issue, yet this mouse was instant plug-and-play. The value is great, because it is the cheapest mouse with this kind of functionality. I've bought cheaper wireless mice that only had 2 ft range (boo, Dynex). More expensive mice are really only charging you for fancy extra buttons, because I don't see how they could work better than this one otherwise. The size is very comfortable for a 6'3" dude with long hands. No more cramped hands for me!

If someone asks me what wireless mouse they should get for their laptop or desktop, the m310 is always the answer. It has an ergonomic shape, an infrared tracking light, and the included single AA battery lasts well over a year - probably still true now that they've switched from Duracell to some no-name battery. I've never had trouble using this on most smooth or textured surfaces. If you have a glass desk and no mouse pad, you'll probably need to go for their better infrared laser in the m705. I do not like "mini" travel mice. There is only one size that will fit your hand - and this fits most. The best conforming mouse shape Logitech ever came out with is the Performance Mouse MX, especially for larger hands, but I will not spend over twice the price for a mouse whose buttons wear out too quickly (what happened to my last one). On the Mac, I use the hidden thumb button to launch the Dashboard.

What can I say? I'm a Logitech fanboy. They make some d**n fine products. I have yet to find another mouse that I would rather own than a Logitech. They're not one size fits all. They make stuff for any budget and pretty much any need. This is the third one of this model that I've owned and it's not because I wear them out or anything so lame, it's because they've all been replacements for the various and assorted devices I have. I'm not sure what Logitech has done under the hood but the mouse takes and alkaline battery and makes it last like it's Lithium. It has an On/Off switch on the bottom but if you leave it idle for a certain length of time, it goes to sleep. It tracks very well, too. I haven't found a surface where I noticed any skipping or other anomalies. It's a great basic mouse. And if you want to game? Guess what? Logitech makes gaming mice, too... Just throwin' it out there...

I purchased this mouse because I wanted something affordable (in case I lost it) that i could run to my meetings with. Using a trackpad for the work I do just doesn’t cut it sometimes, so I needed something I could take with from my desk. This mouse is the Goldilocks of devices, not too small for my hand, and not too big either. It fits just right. The texture feels nifty as well. Now when it comes to what I don’t like- I wonder what I will ever do if I lose the Bluetooth dongle it pairs to, the mouse doesn’t have a sync button, so I don’t know if this is replaceable.

    Poor tracking, bad feel

I know this is a cheaper mouse ($9.99 on Deal of the Day), but I'm having a hard time with the tracking... seems to wander a lot (and I've being using mice for 20+ years). Tried adjusting the mouse settings (even turning off 'Enhance Pointer Precision' for a short while), but pointer either moves too slowly when mouse is moved slowly, or pointer goes too fast and zig-zags when mouse is moved quickly (dynamic tracking). Tried on different surfaces and works better when color of surface varies. Also, scroll wheel feels rough/scratchy. The sides are rubber (or feel like it) which I don't personally like. Maybe I could get used to this mouse if I tried hard, but not worth it, especially since there is now an HP mouse for only $7.99, so will be returning this Logitech mouse,.

I've had this mouse for 3 years now, maybe longer. In that time it has only used 5 batteries, which is pretty good considering it is in use for about 12-14 hours a day. It is very comfortable, but a little short. The buttons are very responsive but loud, and the wheel works flawlessly. My model, being older, has a slot to store the nano receiver, but I tend to just leave it plugged in most of the time with no issues. I do recommend turning it off when you are not using it, just to save battery. It is also one of the strongest mice I have ever used, easily taking large falls, throwing, crushing -- no issues at all. And, of course, it lasts forever... except the Logitech logo and bottom sticker. All that said, I would not recommend using this for gaming or art. It simply does not have the resolution to effectively use in those situations.

This is what passes as a standard mouse now?

Found this for cheap and figured it would be a solid replacement for my decade-old, plain wired Dell mouse. Form factor seemed decent, good scroll wheel, I didn't imagine there could be any other problems here. But as soon as I plugged it in and the drivers installed I found the downgrade in accuracy compared to my old wired mouse was insane. Where my old one matches my subtle movements with perfect precision, this just felt jerky and sluggish by comparison. No combination of tinkering with the windows mouse settings could change this. I have no idea if this is a general limitation of wireless mice or not but I really was expecting better from modern technology, cheap as it may be. Only other complaints would be that the middle click offers a bit too much resistance, also didn't glide as smoothly on the pad.

If you are looking for a minimal functioning, full-sized mouse, then this might be for you. Considering the fact that I wanted a full-sized mouse because it fits well in my hand, this was about the cheapest I could find. It does not have bluetooth capability, but the receiver is very slim profile when plugged in, if you are using it with a desktop you wont even notice it. Make sure that you either have a mousepad or test this device on the surfaces you plan to use it on because it has not worked for me on some of the tables and other surfaces in my house. For getting basic computing tasks down with the use of a full-sized mouse, this one does the trick, but not much else. Unless you find a cheaper option that you feel confident will be comparable, I would recommend this product.

I've used a lot of wireless mice both at work and with laptops but this is the best. I bought one for the laptop, one for my PC, one for my wife's PC and specifically had them order this one for work. It's responsive, batteries last forever, comes out of sleep mode immediately (had one from Microsoft that you actually had to turn it off for two minutes before it would reset from sleep mode...ridiculous) and the downloadable software allows you to set the center wheel for many different functions. If you are looking for a wireless mouse, look no further than this. Two extra nice features are that the USB connector only sticks out about a quarter inch from the machine and the laser is invisible, not that bright red light that others have.

Purchased for parents in their eighties who are new to the internet. The size was much easier to use than the smaller M325. I was told by a Best Buy employee that the only difference was the size, but that is not the case. The scroll wheel is not nearly as smooth or precise as the M325 and the wheel does not have the functionality either. However, it is something that was not important to the user and they felt it would be a better fit for their needs. It works great as an addition to the laptop and has made using Windows 8 much easier than using just the pad. I would recommend this model for anyone who feels a larger mouse would be easier to use than the smaller version as long as they aren't used to the extra functions that the wheel on the other models offer.

I needed a wireless mouse to use with my laptop PC on a trip since I forgot to pack the one I normally use. I debated about which size to buy, and chose the smaller one knowing it would save space and likely be easier to move in a confined area like on the top of the arm of a couch or small table. The PC recognized it immediately and no adjustments were necessary before using it. What I discovered was that although it provided the identical function of the larger mouse, it initially felt small in my hand and not as comfortable as what I was used to. I'm glad I bought it and probably would have gotten used to it if I had spent hours using it on the trip. Still, it's nice to have a backup in the computer bag in case I forget the larger one again.

This buy, was yet again a "Best Buy", is living up to it's name. The mouse was just what I needed, to replace my stock Toshiba IR optic wireless mouse. The mouse wheel stopped working normally, and did not scroll well. This Logitech mouse did the trick, and I like the feel and comfort of using it. I use it mostly for gaming, and it works good enough for being a standard/non-gaming mouse. Bought it for value and everyday use, and if it broke, I wouldn't feel bad, because I didn't pay a lot for it. I gave it a good rating, only due to the fact I only had it for about a month or so. I will give it and excellent if it lasts more than 6 years and if the battery life last as long as it says in its specifications for battery replacement.
