A sweet little mouse with a ton of features!

Value for Price: I gave this section 5 stars because you can't ask for much more on a $25 mouse. It has a precision wheel that also doubles as a back and forward during browsing or skipping pages in a PDF document. It has a increased precision laser of slightly cheaper mice and seems to work on just about any surface. So far my stone end tables with wood border and fluffy blanket are no match to this laser. To top it off the 18 month battery life (which I have yet to test fully) is just icing on the cake. The mouse will probably be broke before that time :P Compatibility: True meaning of plug and play. I plugged it in and in 10 secs the drivers were installed and I was in action on Windows 7 Home Premium. It required 1 Microsoft Update that was a small download and didn't require a restart. Design: It feels good in my hand and I would think that I have average size male hands, the buttons are easy to press and the shiny black with design (others available) matches my new Toshiba laptop fairly well. Ease of Use: I find it fairly easy to use. Not as easy as a full size mouse but still pretty good. Having a the wheel double up as forward and back buttons is also handy. Overall: For $25 on sale I don't think I could ask for a better mobile mouse. I feel comfortable taking it with me and leaving the nano interface in the laptop, and knowing that the battery won't die. It only requires a single AA battery which is handy as well, I usually have a spare sitting around. The excellant laser seems to work well on my couch which is what I bought it for. Also it advertises a 30 foot range which I have yet to test, but if I were to hook my laptop up to a TV I could control it from almost anywhere in my living room. Overall? Great mouse, great price.

A Great Mouse for Both Desktop and Laptops

I initially purchased this mouse (along with one with the Coral Fan design) because I needed to replace my wife's wireless mouse for her netbook and one for my new laptop. I've been using Logitech products for a number of years and definitely have always been impressed with the quality of products they produce. One of the first features that drew me to this particular mouse was the inclusion of the Unifying receiver. The receiver is compact, barely protruding from the USB port, which allows it to be left in the laptop for transport (or it can also be stored in the battery compartment of the mouse in the convenient storage slot). And, through the Logitech SetPoint software, it allows the connection of other devices using a Unifying receiver technology though a single receiver instead of having to have multiple receivers for each separate device, freeing up your USB ports for any other devices you may need to connect to your computer (a fact that makes me wish I had picked up a couple more of these great mice to replace my trusty Logitech MX 300 on my desktop pc and my wife's mouse). One of the things I will admit to having reservations at first with this mouse was the size. I've always used a full sized mouse for both my desktop and laptop pc's, so investing in a mouse that was designed to be portable seemed like something that would take some adjusting to at first. The last feature that really needs to be pointed out on this mouse is it's tracking capabilities. With laptops, there will often times come a situation where the mouse will end-up on a less than ideal surface for usage. With the M325, I have yet to find a surface that the mouse is unable to track accurately and smoothly on (with the exception of glass, I haven't tried the mouse on that yet). Surfaces that would cause problems with my optical mice, fail to slow down this mouse. While I cannot confirm nor deny the claim of up to an 18 month battery life, I will say that in the 3 weeks or so that I have had this mouse, with heavy usage on a day to day basis, I have hardly put a dent into the power available from the single AA battery that's powering it (check with a digital multi-meter). If you're shopping for a new laptop or in the market for a replacement mouse for a laptop/netbook/ultrabook, put this mouse on the short list of considerations, you won't be disappointed.

Inexpensive and portable. Not quite for gamers.

This mouse seems like a great choice for on the go. This mouse is not the best choice for gaming laptops or gaming PCs, but it's not out of the question. It is small, lightweight, and very portable, however, it does require a USB port to use, so it does not connect to a computer via bluetooth. I feel like this mouse could go especially with a Surface or Chromebook or any other light laptops. I didn't quite think anything of the size before I ordered it but it is much smaller than my current mouse (a Logitech G602 Wireless Mouse). Because of this I feel like I'm not benefiting from the ergonomic design: I often have to drag my lower palm across the pad behind the mouse if I want my fingers flat on the mouse buttons but then the scroll wheel also feels weird. I tried a different posture where I can get my palm onto the back of the mouse, but then my fingers are curled over the front buttons. I can see how it might be ergonomic and the texture is great for that as well, but one must consider hand size a factor when buying this. The mouse wheel has a somewhat handy feature of the sidescroll. The main scrollwheel is smooth, but but even after lowering the amount of lines per scroll in Windows settings, it still seems too high. My previous mouse had an application that let me change the onboard settings for the DPI. This one did not have that and in order to replicate a similar experience I had to reduce my Windows sensitivity by 5 levels (still not quite the same feel). I would mostly say that this mouse is best for casual or mobile use. I would recommend this to a friend for casual or mobile use (I have a friend who has a very similar mouse as this), but I wouldn't even mention it to any of my gaming-oriented friends.

Bought it on Black Friday, I love it!

Okay so I was joking about the not being able to cuddle with it at night. haha. Right now, I am using my lap top A LOT (10+hrs a day) mainly for school. I got a little sick of using my touchpad, mainly because of the way I type. I will be typing out something long and important, and because part of my palm hits the touchpad, it decides to highlight what I'm typing. Well, when I'm in the middle of typing, I'm not going to notice that it's highlighted my work until I've already typed over it. It's just annoying when I'm working in MS Starter, because I can hit the undo button. But other places, I can't. I don't know how many times I've had 300-500+ words typed, highlighted unintentionally, then typed over my work. It's infuriating!! So, I got the wired mouse that came with my old desktop and tried to use it. When I am sitting at my desk, I have the cord draped back under my keyboard tray. I will move the mouse, thus moving the cord. The cord will touch my foot, feeling like a bug or a mouse. I will scream and push myself back from my desk so hard I slam into what's behind me thinking I have another mouse in my room. (I have two rats, but for some reason wild mice kinda give me the creeps) So, when I saw a $30 mouse on sale for $10 black friday, I went for it. This mouse is awesome! I am sitting on my bed right now and I'm using my mattress as a mousepad, and it's working great! I haven't used it for that long, but I have yet to find a problem with it. :) Definitely consider this as a main option while shopping for a wireless mouse. It fits into my hand nicely, is easy to use, is smooth, and it absolutely beautifully awesome looking!

This review applies to both the Logitech M325 and the Microsoft 3500 except as noted Both mice are well designed from an ergonomic standpoint with slightly concave edges for the thumb and ring/pinky fingers. The left and right buttons are under a flexible smooth top and provide easy click and doubleclicking, though the Microsoft mouse has a slightly more pronounced feel and sound of the the click. Both are fine. The wheel of the Logitech mouse rolls very smoothly whereas the Microsoft wheel has clearly defined detent positions about every 1/8" of rotation. As with the clicking, preferences are more a matter of taste than functionality. Both work fine though it is a bit more difficult to regulate a "standard one notch" movement as defined in mouse settings. I found no need to install drivers on my XP machines, the standard Windows drivers were installed automatically the first time after a few seconds. The aspect which most impressed me was the range of the wireless connection. Having had for a couple years to put up with a very old wireless mouse which I had to almost literally hang the dongle over the edge of the desk so the old mouse could talk to it, I was amazed when I started checking the range... wow, 3 feet! Lordy, 10 feet... Holy Mackerel, 30 feet!!! I had to have my girlfriend watch the screen to see that the cursor was moving. Sheesh! 35 feet and through a wall is around where I gave up deciding that I wasn't going to be playing with the computer from different rooms or from 30 or even 10 feet away. Battery life is impressive, though as with most devices I use NiMH rechargeable batteries. They last easily over a month without turning the mice off. However, Logitech dropped the ball a bit on the placement of the storage notch for the dongle (excuse me, 'nano-receiver') imho. Logitech placed it inside the battery compartment so that every time you want to insert or remove the dongle from its storage, you have to open the battery flap. Personally I find this a bit annoying and also creates a possible situation where the battery could be knocked loose. Microsoft on the other hand has the dongle storage recess on the base outside of the battery compartment. Some may find this to be a bit snippy of a distinction, but as a troubleshooter, I find that the less chance you give a person to screw something up (ie - knock a battery loose), the better the overall design for a consumer product. Both retail at BB for about $30, but I got the Logitech on sale for $12.99. So what if it has idiotic markings on it? :) So I guess my suggestion would be that if you aren't in dire need of a wireless mouse but want one, check in every week or two and wait for the item to go on sale. But all else (price) being equal, I'd recommend the Microsoft 3500 over the Logitech M325.

I got this mouse as a Black Friday purchase expecting not much, but it turned out to be quite nice to the point where it ended up replacing my main PC mouse instead of just living in my laptop bag. Fantastic battery life, it's 6 months later and I've never turned it off, yet the included single AA battery is still being reported as "good" in the Logitech SetPoint program. There's an actual off switch which is great, but if you leave it on without using it, it goes into standby mode until you move it again. The light on top is small and simple, only comes on for a moment when it reactivates, perfection. The optical sensor on the bottom doesn't have a visible light, so it's great if you want something to work in the dark without a glow. The scroll wheel is a little lighter than I'm used to, but it has subtle detents on the rotation so it's not as bad as some mouse wheels. The side-clicks of the wheel are surprisingly satisfying and even customizable via SetPoint. The wheel itself has diamond-textured rubber on the outside. The tiny USB Unifying receiver docks inside the battery hatch, and works with up to 8 Logitech devices that use the unifying receiver, mine runs both this mouse and my T650 touchpad at the same time with ease, and since I own 2 devices I have an extra receiver I can leave in the mouse for when I take it on the road at a moment's notice. The color shown is accurate. The sides have textured rubber grip. The housing is glossy all around, and the gap between the top and the rest of the shell is pretty small - though it will collect gunk. And the shape is universal instead of right-hand or left-hand specific. The glide is smooth with just a hint of resistance.

I’ve had a couple of different mice brands thru the years, mostly Logitech, but also a couple of the MS variety too. They all work well, but this one seems slightly more ergonomic to me, and it’s sleep mode seems to do a great job with battery life. The thing that really sold me though was a recent experience I had with my 3 year old blue one. I moved my laptop downstairs and put the mouse in my fleece jacket pocket. I forgot about it and a couple days later washed the jacket. Transferring clothes from the washer to the dryer, there was my favorite blue Logitech mouse. It was scuffed up, the battery cover was laying a couple inches away and the battery was under some other clothes. I thought it was done but set it on the counter and let it dry for a couple of days. Got a fresh battery and to my surprise, it still works. Can’t beat that. You can see the scuffs and some scratches in the pic, but still works great.

NOT Programmable, at least not on a Mac

    Posted

The review really speaks to Best Buy's erroneous or incomplete description of the product more than the product itself. I just got the mouse, plugged it in to my MacBook Pro, and it works. But it's just a basic mouse. Where are the three programmable buttons that Best Buy's product description mentions? The only three "buttons" on the mouse are the two standard, right and left click buttons and a clickable scroll wheel. And that would be ok if these were programmable. But they aren't - at least on a Mac. I'd be surprised to learn that it is programmable on any operating system, though, as the packaging and users guide mentions not one thing about any programmability. The only thing mentioned is that the "tilt" function doesn't work on a Mac for moving forward/backward on the internet, but can be made to launch Expose, Spaces, or Dashboard. And it can, but don't look for it under Mouse preferences - it's in "General" in OS X 10.7 at least. There's also no mention of programmable buttons on Logitech's own pages for this mouse. If you dig deep enough, you might find some reference on their site for SetPoint software - with no easy link to download it, mind you. One must hunt some more for the download page. But, then, it's only Windows, so forget that too. Can't really fault Logitech for the errors. If it's not supposed to be programmable, ok. But why does Best Buy's description says it is? Just another example - like Logitech's failure to link the words "SetPoint software" on their site - of sloppy end user experience for the customers that keep these companies' doors open. Blows me away that some tech companies don't necessarily understand how to do tech stuff well. Ever tried calling a phone company and talking to a real person? Seems a phone company would be easy to call, but they ain't! :-)

I purchased this mouse to replace another one that was out dated. This mouse is much better than the old one I had because it is completely wireless where my older mouse was not. This gives me the ability to move the mouse freely avoiding the annoyance of having the cord bump against my laptop or desk lamp while in use. I was on the fence between purchasing the Logitech M310 and M325. Unbeknownst to me, this mouse is actually smaller than the M310. This means if you have larger hands or are planning to purchase a mouse for your desktop, then I would recommend the Logitech M310. I use this mouse primarily for doing homework and web browsing. It works perfectly for just that. Although the Dots Per Inch count isn't high, tracking is smooth and the mouse wheel is quick. However, (and this is for the gamers out there) while gaming the mouse wheel is too quick and with low DPI tracking is not good. I have used this mouse for gaming on Skyrim, FEAR, Far Cry 3, Minecraft and DayZ. Yes, even changing the number of lines at a time within the Mouse Configuration Vertical Scroll setting does not help with this issue so gamers, from my experience, please research other mice. In conclusion, if you plan on upgrading your mouse for your laptop and are tired of wired mice, then purchase this one. It is a bit smaller than the Logitech M310 so if you have large hands I'd recommend the M310 instead. Again, this mouse works best for practical use and not so much for gaming. One more thing, the wireless receiver picks up this mouse from a good distance so if you have a desktop below your desk or to the side of your desk you will notice no hiccups at all. This is from my experience while using it on my second computer which is a desktop. Thanks, Marshall

The Logitech M325 wireless mouse is both very attractive and functional. You don't need directions to set it up or use it--just plug in the USB receiver, pull the battery protector strip out, and turn it on. It has nice rubber sides and grip on the scrolling wheel. The scrolling and clicking functions are very smooth and accurate. A nice touch is the battery compartment door that opens effortlessly but fastens securely and inside the compartment is a secret slot to store the USB receiver! An alkaline AA is pre-installed. This mouse is very compact. It is really not quite as chubby as it appears in the photos. The shape and texture are very pleasant and I keep catching myself fondling it! The weight is well-balanced and it is designed to be used with either hand. Two very minor complaints: the USB receiver looks very much like the one that came with my Logitech wireless keyboard K360 but it doesn't work with it, and vice versa. Also, the non-recyclable clamshell packaging is wasteful--although it has perforations in the back so opening it was easier than opening a beverage can. I understand that it is important to be able to see the product in brick & mortar stores but for online sales, Logitech should package it in cardboard only. This is definitely a five-star mouse, nice quality, attractive design, very portable. If you are using a wired mouse or have a sore forefinger from using a touchpad, you will really enjoy it. I am using it for reading while still using the touchpad when typing.

I bought this mouse for at home using my laptop. I love this mouse. I feel that it is the perfect size for my hands. I attached a picture of how the mouse fits in my hands. The size of it makes it easy to travel with. I haven't had any blue tooth connections issues either. I was skeptical about buying this mouse because I saw some complaints about the scrolling. I actually love the scrolling, it scrolls very smooth and not too fast or slow. I also saw complaints about how the mouse runs through batteries too quickly, but I have not noticed any issue with that so far. The mouse comes with a battery already in it, but it is not name brand so I don't expect this one to last long. That could be what all of the complaints are about. If you want to get full life out of the mouse you might want to get a name brand battery for it. It only takes one AA so it is not expensive to get. Another suggestion as far as the battery issues is to turn the mouse off when you won't be using it for awhile to preserve the battery. There is a convenient on and off switch located under the mouse. The side of the mouse has some grip to it so that it is comfortable to hold onto. The mouse itself moves with ease, there is no catching or slowing down. I would definitely buy this mouse again or recommend it to anyone.

I didn't realize how small the mouse was but oh well that isn't really a negative to me. I am really enjoying this mouse so far. I am posting a review I made on another site here as it pretty much says everything I have to say: note I am the user from the other site. I recently bought this mouse as my old corded one was starting to give me some issues... I find the mouse "moderately sensitive which is a good thing. It only took a few moments to get adjusted to the new sensitivity. I am not too fond of the material on it and the mouse is somewhat "small" but I do have large hands as well. The left click is very very silent while the right click does have a noise with it. The wheel function...is well amazing. I am able to scroll an entire page in mere seconds with it very sensitive/powerful wheel scroll. You can hold down the mouse wheel and go left and right. You can "click the wheel to the right/left to go either back a page or go forward a page" I like that function a lot as well as I do a lot of generic surfing where the back button is used on forums etc. I got the mouse for like $5 on a "half a day sale" which is really nice. I would suggest this mouse to any mouse enthusiast..may not be the greatest for gaming but for general purposes it's an excellent choice. Other thoughts: It has a special feature where you can "turn on/off" the battery that is in it (AA). I don't know if this is a "new" or "unique" feature as this is my first real mouse purchase but it seems like a really cool thing.

I have new laptop that I use in all modes. When in the Tent or Tablet modes I use a portable keyboard. I purchased the Logitech K360 since it is smaller and can fit my laptop case. I like the fact that it has a unified USB receiver that I can leave in my laptop. I purchased the Logitech M325 wireless mouse to use with the laptop. As I said earlier I use the laptop in Tent and Tablet modes. I can use the laptop's touch screen, however some time I connect to external monitors, and they do not have touch screen capabilities. The only drawback to the mouse is that it detects any minor movement and kept waking my laptop from power saver mode, I started turning off the switch on the mouse when not needed. I also use additional items with the laptop, at home I have a second monitor Asus VS228 connected to my laptop HDMI port this allows me to use extended (2 monitor) desktop in Windows 10. I also use a ScreenBeam Mini 2 to connect my laptop to a HDMI TV in the WiDi connect mode, this allows me to use extended (3 monitor) desktop in Windows 10. Other people had made the comment of some delay with the ScreenBeam, I tested with audio on the laptop and video on a TV, I found not delay between audio and video. The only problem I experience with the ScreenBeam was when I used it with a 720p TV, had no problems with 1080p TV.

I have a Macbook Pro. And the trackpad is good and all, but I was interested in getting a wireless mouse. I did find out that not all wireless mice are compatible with mac, some are PC only, some are mac only, and others will do both. Found a huge variety of Logitech mice that would work with my laptop. Ended up picking out the Zany color, which matched my laptop's carrying sleeve. (how fun). When I finally picked it up and got to using it. It was super, super easy to "install", just place the receiver into a USB port and turn the mouse on. And that's it. I was worried that I would end up losing the receiver because it is so small. However I opened the slide cover of the mouse to check if it had a battery, and saw that when you're not using the mouse, you can totally store the receiver inside the mouse itself, since it has a slot especially for this! AWESOME! And not only is it super easy to use, it is super comfortable and fits perfectly in your palm, it's also ambidextrous. It is also able to be used on several different surfaces that I've tried, such as tables (naturally) the arm of my couches, couch cushions, and other smooth surfaces, it doesn't work if you try and use it on top of a cat though (haha!) It is super awesome. Love this product, seriously.

I started with one of these, purchased on sale, to replace my corded mouse at work. Months later I purchased one for home. One down side to be aware of is that the wireless signal may not be as strong as desired for a particular setup. It has a nice storage space in the battery compartment for the USB adapter. At work the signal was weak going through my desk to the computer about 3.5 feet away. This desk has a 1" thick wood top with a metal brace that may have affected the signal; my legs might also have been interfering.. The adapter now plugs into my monitor and is about 1.5 feet from the mouse. At home the weak signal occurred going through the desk top and sides (3/4" wood) as well as some drawers filled with various stuff. I pulled the computer out a little bit, but still with the desk and drawers between the mouse and adapter. It works well and is about 2 feet from the computer. The size is good for me and it works in either hand for me. I do not switch button assignments when using my left hand but I do hold it with my left index finger on the left button.

I was always skeptical about buying a wireless mouse just because of its pricey nature and uncertain compatibility. Logitech makes it easy for anyone who wants a wireless mouse to own one without any worries. Highlights: - Cool design. - Small mouse body still fits comfortably in big hands. - Nano receiver is awesome, never gets in the way or falls out. - Once you plug in the nano USB receiver, it installs the drivers INSTANTLY. Give it 10 seconds and you're good to go. - Small compartment inside of mouse to hold nano receiver. - Advanced scrolling, I like that if you scroll really fast, the wheel spins just a little more for that scroll-fading effect. - The left and right wheel click functions work just fine with my big hands when using my index finger. - Ergonomic design. - Works on almost any flat surface. - Great value for $12.99 (Retail: $29.99) Flaws: - The battery that came with it did not work, make sure you have a back-up battery when first using it.

I got it on Black Friday! Great deal! So happy with the purchase. I love Logitech mice. They are always so reliable and work really well. I have a M525 which has been great too, but I liked this design of M325. It is smaller and lighter than M525 because it uses only one battery. It fits better and easier on my hand. Very stylish and responsive without a mouse pad. Tilting the wheel to go backward and forward is a nice feature. Once I started using its smooth micro-precise wheel, I couldn't go back to an old-styled one. Easy to install and pretty to look at! I think the color is more reddish purple than the picture though. By the way, when I was looking for a laser mouse, I contacted and verified with Logitech that all M325 are OPTICAL. (Best Buy's description is incorrect) According to Logitech, M325 has 1000 dpi which is better than traditional optical mice, but a real laser mouse has 2000 dpi or more.
