NOT Programmable, at least not on a Mac

    Posted
    tipperdon

The review really speaks to Best Buy's erroneous or incomplete description of the product more than the product itself. I just got the mouse, plugged it in to my MacBook Pro, and it works. But it's just a basic mouse. Where are the three programmable buttons that Best Buy's product description mentions? The only three "buttons" on the mouse are the two standard, right and left click buttons and a clickable scroll wheel. And that would be ok if these were programmable. But they aren't - at least on a Mac. I'd be surprised to learn that it is programmable on any operating system, though, as the packaging and users guide mentions not one thing about any programmability. The only thing mentioned is that the "tilt" function doesn't work on a Mac for moving forward/backward on the internet, but can be made to launch Expose, Spaces, or Dashboard. And it can, but don't look for it under Mouse preferences - it's in "General" in OS X 10.7 at least. There's also no mention of programmable buttons on Logitech's own pages for this mouse. If you dig deep enough, you might find some reference on their site for SetPoint software - with no easy link to download it, mind you. One must hunt some more for the download page. But, then, it's only Windows, so forget that too. Can't really fault Logitech for the errors. If it's not supposed to be programmable, ok. But why does Best Buy's description says it is? Just another example - like Logitech's failure to link the words "SetPoint software" on their site - of sloppy end user experience for the customers that keep these companies' doors open. Blows me away that some tech companies don't necessarily understand how to do tech stuff well. Ever tried calling a phone company and talking to a real person? Seems a phone company would be easy to call, but they ain't! :-)

Lag when using is a drag

I have many other Logitech wireless mice and keyboards that I have always been pleased with. For this reason, I didn't look at any other brands when buying a gift for my mother. Unfortunately, I don't think it stands up to Logitech's reputation. Despite having the same type of receiver as their other products, this mouse seems to have poor wireless connectivity. When you haven't used the mouse for a bit of time, (maybe 5 or 10 minutes) there is a noticeable lag or delay when you first start using it again. I realize this isn't a huge issue, but it is a definite annoyance, and I notice it every time I use her computer. If it were the main mouse I use every day, I would have already replaced it. The lag/delay issue aside, all other functions work as they should.

Loose battery makes for a poor mouse

I love Logitech accessories. I don't have any other brand computer accessory besides Logitech so this mouse was an obvious choice for my laptop. Although it doesn't fit perfectly in my hand, I realize I do have larger hands than some so I can't complain terribly there but my #1 problem with this mouse is on certain occasions the battery will get loose and I will have to slide off the protective back cover, pop out the battery, and pop it back in. It works every time but it's very tiresome for a mouse I paid a fairly decent amount for. I'm not sure if this is a design flaw or simply just one bad mouse but I was disappointing and will not be buying this mouse again in the future

if wheel clicked more, a 5 star mouse

Recently bought another Logitech Mouse, M315 and was very pleased with it. Decided to try the M325 because of the tilt feature and the longer battery life for another application. The tilt wheel has imperceptible resistance for wheeling; it really goes with imperceptible clicks. Thus, while attempting to tilt, I frequently first "wheel" creating a bit of confusion. Other Logitech mice have a more distinct click while wheeling. Bottom line, try before you buy, preferably connected to a PC. BTW, even though not labeled "compact", I think it is the same size as the M315?

We got a great deal on this mouse, to go along with our boy’s laptop for Christmas. Everything stared out great - it came with batteries, once you plugged in the Bluetooth receiver it connected without hesitation, and we were in business. And everything kinda fell flat after that. After extended periods, or when we close the laptop for the day, the mouse does not re-connect automatically, and the only way I can get it to work is to un-plug/plug back in the receiver. It re-connects quickly, but it’s just a pain to add that extra step, especially for 7-year olds. But hey, for $7.99, maybe I should have known better.

    Pass on this

Pass on this one... they put the sensor under the left edge of the mouse.. takes some getting used to moving it and you end up using your thumb as your navigator/pointer sort of - which puts your fingers to sleep and give you wrist pain after some use. The two battery one, M525 seems to be almost same size only slightly larger and probably much more comfortable to use as its sensor is more centered on the base of the mouse. I have had this mouse less than three weeks and it works, but not precision by any means. Might be the sensor 1000dpt changes to 5dpi when its moving slow or at rest to save power, which means when you move the mouse too slowly, the pointer doesn't move.

I originally purchased a different Logitech model that caused the screen on my Acer chromebook to scroll up and down during use. I took it back and replaced it with this one as it was a better model. It does the same thing but not as bad. It doesn't do it all the time. I can be annoying but it's not worth my while to return it again. A customer service rep said it could be a interference issue, I think it might be a compatibility problem although the package states it's compatible with Linux. It is comfortable and so far the battery has lasted a few weeks and the stand by/ sleep mode helps extend the battery life.

    Cute but too small

This thing was just too small. I have had the full-size wireless M510 Logitec mouse for about 2 years. It works great, so great I kept using it with two different computers. Each time, I had to switch out the USB plung. So I decided to buy another one. I wanted one that would feel as natural as a full-sized mouse, like the M510 does, and one that was cute. The M325 is cute so I ordered it. When it arrived I looked at it in the package and immediately decided to return it. This mouse would be annoying to use and I don't have big hands at all. I decided to go with what works, I purchased a blue M510, not as cute but works well.

I recently bought a new computer and needed a quick mouse. I had a previous model similar to this but for some reason the other was much better in accuracy and battery life. I've replaced battery on this one once already (not a heavy user) and the previous one I don't recall ever changing it. Also the calibration on this on has been off and I've tried to resolve it but no luck.

    Compact with a Loud Click!

Honestly, not using this mouse because it has a very loud mouse click! I felt embarrassed to use it in the library because each click sounded disruptive. It is on the smaller side as well -- harder to handle. I do recommend the purchasing a Jelly Comb brand mouse. They come in a standard/larger size making it easier to use, feels like suede, and has a *silent* mouse click!

Not happy with this mouse. I bought two of them just to have a spare in the house. It did not work well after several uses and kept shutting off without warning. I replaced the batteries but that did not help. I finally had to buy a different more expensive mouse but it seems to be working fine for now. I have used this other brand before and never had a problem with it. I guess you have to spend more to get a decent product.

The mouse was a good price compared to others, but it shows on performance why you should spend more on one. The size is small, and good for kids 10 and under. When I use it, clicking the button never goes because i am too far in front of button. Also, the sensor is not as sensitive to move around. Very slow response speed. I have had way better one before.

    M325 Mouse by Logitech

The wheel did not click when I used it . . . just rolled and wasn't sure if it was broken or just what was wrong with it. Just did not respond very good either. I loved my M305 and was told the the M325 had replaced it but was not even close to the same quality as the M305! I returned it because it seemed so cheaply made and the wheel just rolled which was hard to place where I wanted it.

Here's the deal, it has a gradual increase of speed while using it, meaning instead of going slow when moving it slow and fast when moving it fast, no matter how fast you move it it starts out really slow and speeds up kinda exponentially (if you don't know what that graph looks like, google exponential growth). This makes it VERY difficult to get used to using the mouse.

    Awful scroll wheel

    Posted
    Rumblestone

With all of the 5 star reviews of this mouse, maybe I just got a bad one. With mine the scroll wheel seems to have a mind of it's own. The lightest touch makes the screen jump up or down a few lines. If you scroll down a web page, as soon as you stop, the screen jumps back up a few inches. Very annoying, and none of the mouse "settings" deal with this problem. You can do better Logitech.

For no reason, the mouse just quits working frequently. After removing and replacing the new batteries, it might start working... then again, it might not, and you have to repeat the above remedy, sometimes more than once. Have returned and replaced the mouse. Guess what - same problem ! I think the battery holder might just be a poor design, unfortunately.

This was an inexpensive item I bought with a new computer. Once again, you get what you pay for. The mouse works okay, but it's a pain to turn on and off. Every time I go to turn off the mouse I end up clicking the mouse and have to turn it back on to correct what I clicked while trying to turn the mouse off. Otherwise it seems to work fine. Feels cheap in my hand.

The mouse is fine but apparently there is no software to connect with Mac to make all the button functions usable. This is what Logitech service emailed me when I asked them how I could enable the scroll wheel so it could go left and right (this after I spent an hour looking online to try to figure it out with no success). So this is not a suggested mouse for Mac users.

Logitech - M325 Wireless Optical Mouse - Blue. I have tried to use this mouse for one month. I can not program the wheel to scroll left or right. It may satisfy the person dedicated for sending email. It is junk for working with Photoshop or other programs requiring accuracy. I have tried to use this mouse for one month. I will return to using my Logitech V320 Optical mouse.

    Too cheap of a mouse

The mouse feels too small and the buttons too cheap, just flimsy in the hand. Also the mouse wheel is way too sensitive with very little tactile feedback and almost impossible to middle-click the wheel. The Microsoft 3500 is a MUCH better choice. Similar price, solid construction, and feels better to use and click upon.
